Good Morning, Turkeys! (Meant in the nicest, most seasonal kind of way, of course. It's better than saying "my fowl friends", I think.)

The count, as we near a momentous day:
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 1 (TOMORROW!!! Pass the cranberry sauce, please.)
Days to Christmas Day: 31 (One month from tomorrow!)

Hey! Turkey Day tomorrow, Folks. There will be more of gravy than grave about it.
And our weather is supposed to take a cooler turn but still no rain until Friday.
We stand at 48 degrees currently, here in Raleigh.

Speaking of gravy and eating, don't forget this is open house day at the Shipering Pines!
Carl's Thanksgiving Eve celebration.
Our friendly activties director promises a Thanksgiving-themed decor including pine cone turkeys on every table and lots of pumpkins scattered about. The movie "Holiday Inn", Carl's favorite, will be screened.
(And there are frightening rumors around that he will be costumed as a Pilgrim.)
A coffee-cranberry blend is in the works. (sigh)
Regardless, there will be alot of gobbling going on.

Tomorrow....the day I have waited for!

This afternoon around 5ish....wifey said let's stop working on the house....go get groceries and let's start relaxing and having fun for Thanksgiving....

Man, I love that woman!

So off to WalMart we went...got home and put away the groceries, plugged up the new range....and tomorrow the cooking starts bright and early around 6ish....

Around noon, I will put up the tree and we will decorate tomorrow night after everything gets done. We plan on watching the Scrooge animation with Carey. We usually watch The Polar Express, but we will watch that, too!

I can't wait to see y'all tomorrow! Hope you have as good a day as I plan on having!

When I signed on this morning, I saw one of her pictures at the top of the homepage. I realized I haven't seen her around lately. Her profile says she hasn't been on for a couple weeks.

Hope she's ok. Maybe she's vacationing. Anyone know?

kandice is sick once again...been coughin all night....got a doctor appointment at 11:30am with her....now she is watching some cartoons and relaxes a lil from the hard night.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Thanksgiving is upon us! They kids get out of school at lunch today. We're grilling steaks here at work for the guys for lunch. I'm here till 5pm, then out till Monday!

I have a whole weekend planned out, with eating, hunting, eating, Christmas decorating, eating and hunting!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!! It has been a sad morning here. I woke up and turned on the news to see the main building at the boy scout camp I use to work at on fire. I sat here and watched it burn for 2 hours. The only part of the building that is left is the chimney and some framing here and there. The good thing is that there was no one in the building at the time. Today I have to go with my sister to the north side of Indy to take my oldest niece to a neurologist appointment. Then I have to go back to her house and get the turkey ready to go in the oven tomorrow morning. The weather here is going to be terrible the next 3 days. They are calling for rain to start in about an hour and not stop until sometime midday on friday. I might need a boat to go shopping on friday. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry to hear about the Boy Scout building, I hope they will be able to rebuild for the kids quickly.

This is a good morning I am feeling way better, only slightly unbalanced (the feeling when you stand up too fast and get a rush in your head - but constantly )! Today finished of the last essay/translation before the exams, so can focus on the exams and christmas now!

I just wanted to say, in honor of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for you all! MMC is like a cozy, warm home with a big fireplace and friends always around.... and this home is always sparkling with beautiful Christmas lights! Thank you for being such great Christmas friends!

Afternoon all, well here in the uk we are supposed to get heavy snow this week!! Putting my christmas things up next week so would be lovely to be decorating whilst its all white and snowy outside!cheesy 1 week today until we open advent calendars (so my daughters keep reminding me hehe!!) They are so excited for santa coming and have wrote loads of letters to him along with lists of toys they want!!

Im not at work today, got the day off so going to pick the kiddies up from school soon, have tea then relax for the evening!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve,

I was able to go out this morning and get the prime rib for Christmas dinner, they were on sale at the local grocery store at a really good price, along with two chocolate advent calendars for the boys. I leave for work in about 45 minutes, I can't wait for the day off tomorrow.

A funny little story about my 2 y/o LC, he woke up the other night calling me, I went and laid down with him to calm him down, I went back to my bed and when we woke up in the morning, I asked him why what was wrong last night, he said "I dream the turkeys were eating me." Thats not the funny part, what is funny I don't think he has ever seen a live turkey, so he must be thinking of a cooked turkey was attacking him.

Happy Thanksgiving to all tomorrow. I finished cleaning most of the kitchen/den area and will finish up in a few minutes. We will put the turkey in the maple brine, and I will mix up the first batch of refrigerator rolls. I have a few herbs to mince and I will gather all the ingredients I need for marathon cooking. I love this time of year. And I love being able to come to this site where we begin as strangers and end up as friends. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful, caring group. For this, I am truly thankful.
