Everything is on! Well, except for the potatoes. Four hours until our Thanksgiving feast! I have a clean kitchen, Italian stuffing, maple glazed carrots, sage gravy, Italian green beans, and sweet potatoes are in crockpots. The homemade rolls will be rising in a few minutes, homemade Grand Marnier cranberry sauce is chilling in the fridge, and I am taking a quick break. Hope things are going well with all of y'all.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY AMERICAN FRIENDS!!!

i hope you all have a wondeful day with family and friends, god bless you all.

enjoy this special day :carve:

I use fresh sage, and it gives the gravy that special oomph! Plus, I used fresh oregano and fresh basil in the Italian stuffing (ripieno di salsccice). I also use fresh Italian sausage. Wonderful flavors!

Sage has to be one of the best and most overlooked spices of Thanksgiving.

Ballcoach,
What did you have for your first meal? Do you know what you are having for the second one? Did you eat dessert for the first one? Inquiring minds want to know.

We had the first one at my mom's and the 2nd will be at my mother-in-laws. We had chicken spaghetti, baked beans, turkey, ham, deviled eggs, etc. at Mom's. I didn't eat any dressing because I'm waiting for my MIL. No desert either!

For the 2nd....I think more of the same....don't know exactly, but i will report when I get home. We are about to leave right now. Coffee and MMC when I return.

Merry ONE Month until Christmas Day, everyone!! AND, of course, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S.!

Yes, I have returned on this joyous day. I hope everyone in the US has enjoyed their turkey dinner and are resting from the meat sweats right about now. I apologize for vanishing again. We had a few massive assignments due. Our final one was due yesterday. I managed to complete it, but we had to celebrate its completion and a birthday afterward. Great times!

I'm actually heading back to Ottawa tomorrow. My second placement begins on Monday, but I should be more prepared and able to continue the countdown to our favourite day of the year with you from now on!

Anyway, I must get going. I can't wait to start posting with everyone again on a regular basis. The Christmas Season is in full swing and my excitement continues to build!

Have a great Thursday night, everyone... And, be ready for another Black Friday! I look forward to hearing some stories!

Glad you were able to celebrate! I am SO glad those days are over for me! I remember the tension and apprehension I would feel, but it all paid off in the end. I have been teaching over 20 years, so I don't feel any pressure now.

On Monday, I will begin wearing my Christmas clothes!! I have so many Christmas tops and matching socks, that I will be able to wear them into the New Year!!!

I had a very nice Thanksgiving. I have hosted it every year since I was a teenager. My daughter and son-in-law gave me a break this year and they both cooked the Thanksgiving dinner. I always loved doing it but it was nice to relax this year. We had a wonderful time!!!

I hope you all had a nice time as well!

Good Evening Everyone!!!!! I had a great day today. It was filled with lots of family, friends, fun and freezing rain. I could have done without the freezing rain. My mom decided to stay the night at my aunts house so they could go out shopping together at midnight tonight. My sister also decided to that she is going to go with her sister in law. So that leaves me to go by myself. That is fine with me. I can get in and out quicker that way. I have decided to skip the opening of toys r us at 10pm. There isn't really anything I have to have from there so I am going to wait until Miracle on 34th street is over and go then. Since mom isn't here I am also going to start putting up the tree. I hope everyone had a GREAT DAY!!!!!

Our Thanksgiving was so pleasant! I did lots of things ahead and put them in crockpots and did dishes as I went along; so there was not a lot of cleanup after dinner! I love that time when things are in the dishwasher and dessert is ready! Well, I guess you could say I TOTALLY LOVE Thanksgiving!

I love pre lit trees expect for when you plug them in and 3/4 of the tree doesn't light up. Now I have to decide whether to buy a new tree or just put regular lights on it for this year and order a new one from Bethlehem lights after Christmas.
