Well, the 1st main event of the season is over....and boy was is great! We had such a good time today. Right now, we are sitting here drinking coffee and watching the ballgame. It's just about time for bed, though.
We are getting up tomorrow morning and going shopping. It will be late tomorrow afternoon before I get to post. Rest assured, I will be here tomorrow evening with a war story or two.

While all of you are getting to sleep, my day has just started! All of your thanksgivings sound lovely! i hope every one really enjoyed their evening! 
Today is an exciting day! We are going to look at the the building site where they build houses and appartments that we are interested in, and after that we have an appointment with a realtor! I am all excited! luckily my father in law, who is a financial advisor for his work, is coming with us!

Edit: my message was posted twice... now i can use this space to wish all of you a very great Black Friday! Especially to Christmas-A-Holic, because she's been looking forward to today for a very long time

My friend is braving the early Black Friday crowds and witnessed 2 women getting in a fist fight over some towels. What the heck? We tell our children to not fight over their toys but grown women fight over towels????
I just will not get out in that early crowd! We do plan to get out later in the morning when most of the hype is gone. Lol.

That has been my fear about pre-lit trees since they first started making them. I figured eventually some lights will stop working and you are stuck with them on your tree. Great idea to have them but I rather buy them without lights and put my own on it.
If I were you I would still keep the tree and just cover it with new strands of lights. cheesy Are you able to remove the non working lights that are on there?
Another friday means another Milestone!!
Only 4 weeks to go to Xmas EVE!!
Can't believe it.
Still, it's hard for me to get excited about right now after a very bad and long 13 hr day at work yesterday, not to mention an over hr long commute back in freezing rain conditions this morning.
I am trying to stay positive by listening to some xmas music right now and knowing that this weekend, the outdoor decorations will go up and prepare the house for next weekend's family tree decorating party while still getting more shopping done.
And Sunday is Grey Cup Sunday, Go Als Go!!
Hopefully today will be better and that will lead into a great weekend.

Still, it's hard for me to get excited about right now after a very bad and long 13 hr day at work yesterday, not to mention an over hr long commute back in freezing rain conditions this morning.
I am trying to stay positive by listening to some xmas music right now and knowing that this weekend, the outdoor decorations will go up and prepare the house for next weekend's family tree decorating party while still getting more shopping done.

(Probably more ways than there are member of this board.)
Days to Christmas Day: 29 (We have just passed UNDER the one month mark!)
Warm (mid-60's) but wet here this morning.
The rain was supposed to hold off until today but we had some yesterday as well.
Ready for Black Friday or are you already immersed in it?

I Had a very nice Thanksgiving at my family's house and brought lots of leftovers home with me
Went out into the craziness this morning for Black Friday, came home dissapointed, did not get there in time to get the doorbuster specials I went after, but did get a few things I did not plan on getting ... cheesy
My plan for the rest of the day, do as little as possible and enjoying the Thanksgiving leftovers!

Good Morning my MMC friends and family. Hopefully everyone form the US is enjoying their after heavy meals glows from yesterday. We had a good time at my mother in laws. Lots of good food and got to see two of the 5 grandbabies (my hubby's) and spent time just talking and eating. Came home and slept for a few hours before I had to pack Mr. HJ's supper for work. Had a turkey fight with the cat because she wanted my turkey, so I gave her some. I am NOT, well we are not, going out and braving the Black Friday horrors that tend to occur on this day each year. It is raining and chilly here.

I think that is what I am going to do. I had planned to buy a new tree after Christmas anyways so I picked up some light strands this morning to use for this Christmas. It looks like the old lights on it are held on by some small plastic clips. I don't know if it is worth it to try and find all of them to take the lights off for just this year. I might try to take one strand off and see how it goes.

Good Morning Everyone!!!! I managed to survive another black friday. It was kind of crazy at wal mart last night but it was fairly calm everywhere else. I didn't buy much but I had fun going from store to store and I ran into alot of people I haven't seen in a long time. Now I am going to lay down and take a nap before I start working on the Christmas tree again. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not braving the Black Friday crowd. My kids want money since they are all on their own. But I still have to get them the traditional "stuff," no matter how old they are!!! I plan to spend the day scrapbooking. There are several things I need to do before Christmas. Hope everyone has a great, restful day. That's what I plan on!

Good morning my Christmas Family !!
Thanksgiving was really nice. I had to work my full shift yesterday as they changed the rules on me but didn't tell me about it !! Oh well. I got started on the tree while my husband cooked which is our tradition. I watched the Macy's parade as I decorated. An amazing thing always happens to me every year when I unpack the ornaments. They all look so wonderful and magnificent that just unwrapping them and placeing them on the tree is like a Christmas gift in its own !!! A few brought tears to my eyes.....one that my wonderful mother had given me from the days of World War II when our country was not making glass ornaments. It is plastic and quite faded. It reminds me of her and though that makes me smile, I also get tears. I almost felt her with me as I placed it on the tree.
Then there is the ornament my sister made many years ago when she was alone and came to my house for Thanksgiving one year. At the time I was into making ornaments from kits and I had spare batting left over as well as sequins. She took an old handkerchief and cut it in the shape of a tree and stuffed it and sewed sequins on it !! It may not look like anything to most people. To me it is beyond measure in value and one of the most beautiful ornaments I have.
Today I am posting and listening to Christmas Offerings by Third Day on my Media Player. It is cold today in NE Ohio so I am snuggled in my "bed" with my laptop. In a little while I plan on watching the Polar Express !!

There is a mystery at our house. We cleaned up the kitchen and left a few dishes to dry while the dishwasher did the rest. This morning when we went to put away the dishes, we could not find the lid to my biggest crockpot, the lid to one of smaller crockpots and the bases to the smaller crockpot and one of the medium ones!! My husband and I have looked everywhere! I guess I will be calling some of our guests and see if they put them away somewhere! Only the Shadow knows!
