Good late afternoon, everyone! It warmed up just a little today, but then the wind kicked in. Dinner smells wonderful, and the rice will soon be cooking. I make killer rice, even if I do say so myself. It never fails!! I am already looking forward to tomorrow's lunch and tomorrow night's dinner! We have a meeting tomorrow night, so leftovers will be great. Hope you all have a good evening. Post away so we can really blast ourselves away with the count!!

Well I am off to see if Idol is going to be worth watching anymore. I'll be back later!!!

I actually am watching Idol right now. So far I like it. I like Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. To me, they know about the music business and what it takes to make it. Randy too for that matter !!cheesy

good mid-week morning, friends!

Rise, shine and smell the.........
Well actually that brings me to this quote by ballcoach:

Um......carl's still miffed at what he regards as a snub by being excluded from bing's latest opera chapter and has announced that coffee is no longer served at the shispering pines. (that narcissistic camel!)
he is further offering not one but two free glasses of tea on open house days. I told him he was being spiteful and that he just can't expect to be in every installment and he replied "but you are!". I tried to explain that's different - every chapter needs a villan but all he could say in return was "ok, i'll play the villan!" << sigh! >>
not to worry, though. Carl's little tantrums are short-lived and that....stuff will probably be flowing again by next wednesday.

A bit overcast here this morning where we stand at 44 degrees bound for the low 50's by this afternoon. Not too bad for january 19.

The count:
Days to the season: 298
days to christmas day: 340
perhaps there are those inquisitive as to our next milestone and are too lazy to check out the chart at post #1 of this thread.
As such, i wil tell you it's the......
Nah! You lazy coffee drinkers you. Go look at post #1!

Have a wonderful wednesday (hopefully at the 'pines!) today, folks.
And bring your christmas spirit with you!

(( oh, ok! It's february 12th - the 1/4 season mark! ))

Congratz on going platinum, Gabulldawg! Caninemom is awesome!
Sorry you have to deal with difficult people at work... I have no words to lighten your load, except to say, put on an armor of Teflon and let those sizzling words roll right off you like a non-stick pan...

Thanks, Blue Christmas !! Actually, my Christmas family are the ones who are awesome xo

Right now, we are averaging 109 posts per day. IF we keep this up, we COULD reach 37,000 by the end of the year!!! It boggles the mind! Of course, we have to keep in mind that some days will be more, AND some days will be less! Go get 'um, guys!!!

I just realized I left out the secret ingredient for my Italian herb chicken!! There is a slow cooker mix from McCormick's that you mix in with the tomatoes, tomato paste, etc. THEN you pour that mixture over the chicken. Here's the COMPLETE recipe!

I am making Italian herb chicken that is SO EASY that it's almost a sin to say I am making it! You put chicken in the bottom of the crockpot (I use breasts and thighs), mix together 2 cans of garlic-basil diced tomatoes, 1 can roasted garlic tomato paste, chopped onion and mushrooms and McCormick's slow cooker Italian Herb Chicken Mix. Pour that mixture over the chicken, turn crockpot to low and let it cook all day. When I get home tonight, I will cook up a pot of rice over which we will spoon a piece of chicken and the yummy sauce. Yummo!
sounds really good! My daughter got a slow cooker for Christmas, I will pass this one on to her.

I forgot to report that I bought a Kindle last Friday. I promised to let you know what I thought of it.
I think I'm going to like it. ...When my eyes are tired at night, I can bump up the size of the type! ...So if you don't mind some typos, I'd recommend the Kindle to avid readers.

MerryCarey, can you use it broad daylight or is the resolution too dim? I like the idea of increasing the font size, my eyes tain't what they used to be...

It's made to read in any kind of light where you could read a regular book, including broad daylight. It's not a backlit screen, it's some kind of technology called "e-ink." I don't know how it works, but it looks pretty much like a regular book page. It has EIGHT different font sizes, you can choose a serif or sans-serif font, and you can also adjust the line spacing and the margins. So it's pretty easy on the eyes. The Kindle page on Amazon.com is pretty thorough in describing it.
