Good....no....GREAT Morning, Folks.

It's the weekend once again and time to relax, take a deep breath and enjoy some sweet southern iced tea.
(Forget that coffee stuff -- tea's where it's at!)

Speaking of where it's at, where's it at? (The count, that is.)
Days to the Season: 295
Days to Christmas Day: 337
Three weeks from today, Guys - the 1/4 mark to Christmas Season 2011!
Then it will be one down, 3 to go.
(We're moving along almost as fast as the posting rate here!)

Overcast but calm here in the capital city where we stand at a very chilly 27 degrees with the predicted high not out of the 30's today.
At least no precip is supposed to fall until the middle of next week.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Friends.
Enjoy your weekend to the fullest in the spirit of the Season!

Hi all, nice seeing the figures in the countdown!!

I am going to see Little Fokers tonight. I heard its not the best film, but I really liked the first two! PLUS there are christmas presents on the poster, has it got a christmas theme??

Only 37 posts to hit 2,500 for the countdown! Wow! We are just "racing" along!

Good morning, Christmas family! Really struggling to figure out what to do today as I work around the house. This is the first time since Sept. there hasn't been a football game on. Disappointing. This week and next are not the best sports weekends. At least we have the ballgames tomorrow, but next weekend will be a drag.

About to do some work on Christmas and holiday planning....wife's bday is coming up soon, so i got to get somethings together. See yall later!

I haven't been on a pitcrew in a long time, but I do want my name on the back of the coveralls!!!

If I had a billion dollars...we would own our own race team....you got Hendrick, DEI, TGR, JGR...etc....we would be MMCr....Christmasstar would be the driver...Crown would be the spotter and "Countdown" the laps...Binger would fill the tank with coff...gas...Carl would drive the hauler...Made would be the Crew Chief....Brent would be studying....Seawaters, Superdave, Snow-in-Texas, and Christmas-A-Holic could be the pitcrew...Brad would be the team chef...Undertaker could be the team mechanic...I could go on and on....but I would be....at the concession stand eating nachos....

Cars on the track, Made...cars on the track...I'm excited.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is clear and sunny here in northern California. Not even a hint of snow, go figure! I've checked satellite cameras and I see no trucks loaded with leftover snow headed this way either! I've got lots to do today. A few more days of lesson plans and I will be ready for our February break and can relax until after that. I always try to do an extra week of lesson plans so I can enjoy vacations and not worry about the first week back. I am also going to the Elks Lodge to watch the Pinewood Derby. My husband is already down there helping set up. He has his car that he and his dad made almost 50 years ago. He fixed it up yesterday and wants to see if he can still win in the Family and Friends division! I can hardly wait to take pictures! Hope to talk as the day continues. Only 31 posts to reach 2,500. I am positive we can reach 3,000 by the end of the month!

The new season of ice-road truckers is starting on a UK channel tommorow night, so maybe that might bring some snow at least to our TV screens :P

Okay I have decided that I am done cleaning because it is just to cold to take the trash out to the dumpster.

wANT TO know what my biggest fear is in regards to Christmas Lighting?Im am afraid that the incandescent mini twinkle lites are going to obsolete. To date , I am not a fan of LED lights, I hope i haven't offended anyone but saying that. It seemed that this year there were tons of Led lights on the shelves. Im afraid they are going to take over. Look at some of the lites of the past that are now obsolete. Bubble lights etc. C-7 S are still around but certainly not in the volume of other types. Maybe my fear is not based in reality . It was just a thought I had this past holiday season.

I share your fear! I'm also afraid of the incandescent mini-lights becoming obsolete. I'm not satisfied with the look of LED lights so far---some colors seem far brighter than others, so they look "unbalanced." Don't know if they'll find a way to make them look better in the future or not. But I hesitated to say anything because incandescents aren't "green." For outdoor lighting, I still love to see the "big bulb" incandescents. They may eat up a lot of electricity, but they're a lovely sight.

(The Christmas decorating world probably went through something similar when electric lights began to overtake candles---"They just don't look the same!")

And Shiny Brite ornaments---we always had those on our tree when I was little, but I don't know where they went. Wish I did. I can still see the box in my mind. I bought a box of the repros made by Radko. They look pretty good, although some of the glittery trim was in non-authentic colors. But I know they're not the real thing. I've half-considered bidding on some real ones on eBay, but I haven't seen the exact same ones we used to have, and that's what I'd want. I love that you chose a screen name that commemorates those ornaments!

I will be gone for a while to the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. Please keep posting. Only 25 posts to hit 2,500!!

Busy day with mom's 80th birthday party tonight. Going to work on the cake this morning but thought I would pop in here first to day good morning since no one in the house is up yet to say it to. cheesy I know there is always someone hanging out here to say hello to.

I stayed up till 5am waiting on you and just had to go on to bed was tired. So I wasn't here to tell you good morning.

Morning All, or is it afternoon? I get confused when I work split shifts. Has everyone dug out from the snow and ice? Happy Saturday (it is saturday, right?) Maybe I better go to bed soon... Have a great one!

Good morning, Christmas Family

It is COLD today here (-2 degrees). I am not doing much, not planning on going anywhere. Plan on having a fire in the fireplace and will probably start taking down my tree.... Still, I know it can't stay up all year....In my childish mind I think it is tired and wants to rest.......so I will take it down and let it rest until November....That just seems SO far away..........:-?

Have a great day Christmas Family xo

Right now is 33 here we have us a heat wave going.
