Christmas Countdown - 2011

Good afternoon everyone! I made it to Boston and am tired as heck! I forgot how driving 12 hours a day can wear you out. I just want 5 pm to get here so I can go back to my hotel and sleep! Hope everyone is having a good monday..we can get through it!!

Last night Wayne and I were watching the movie Moonshot, true story about Apollo 11 moon landing. At one scene Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were attending a Christmas party in 1968 and Buzz stepped out on the porch. There was several strands of miniature LED lights decorating it!!! Ha ha, they had LED Christmas lights in 1968? I started laughing. I guess they didn't think anyone would notice the difference. Us Christmas fanatics can spot them miles away! cheesy

Today has not started to well, I went down to the basement before work and we had quite the flood, the snow melting and it poured all night long, we have 1.5-2 inches of water through most of it. I called out from work to take care of it, I have been able to get rid of some so far, but I got a phone call from LC's daycare he has a fever and I went and picked him up, so now my work on the basement has taken a backseat. He is all sniffly and tired so if I can get him to take a nap it will probably be best. I guess this is when a day off is not a day off.

Listen all of you!" and he says no no no and wags his finger at the tv. I love it that he loves all the Charlie Brown specials. Something nice to share with him. Well back to work I go! No such thing as watching that too much! cheesy I am the worse at reciting every single line from that show when it's on. Here I am reading "NO NO NO, Listen all of you! You've got to take direction, you've got to have discipline! and finishing the rest of the line that she says along with it out loud. ha ha!

Good afternoon,

LC is sitting watching Thomas & Friends, not eating too much. I've been able to go downstairs and work on the flooding every so often. I have actually been able to get rid of about 80% of the water out, I am exhausted between taking care of LC and playing in the water. The good thing is none of my Christmas stuff has been harmed, thank goodness for waterproof totes. The other thing I have learned is that our kittens are not afraid of the water, they were running through it and playing in it, they are the craziest bunch of felines I have ever seen.
 
Man, do I need a dose of Christmas...Now and then the world just plain gets in my way...And it's happening alot lately...so I stopped by for a recharge, to revel in the spirit of tradition, of friendship, of community. This place has it all! So, with your permission, I'm going to bask in your words and stories, enjoy getting to know you, just spend some quality time...Thanks for keeping the light on!

Jayish. Just push the world out of the way lol. We all here need Christmas sometimes. I know how you feel! Let me ship some snow from London here over your way via fedex heh.

Very frustrated today. I know it takes time to get comfortable with a new job but I am getting quite restless. The grass is never greener and I should have know that. I am now regretting leaving my old company. Still, if I went back and presuming they would rehire me, do I really want to be without work all the time ?? That is what prompted me to leave in the first place. At this point I just feel like throwing my hands in the air. I will persevere though.

Xmas, I am so sorry about your little guy being sick AND your basement flooding. It would be nice if life would not have so many unpleasant surprises, wouldn't it ?

It sounds like everyone is having a sucky day! hang in there CM3 it WILL get better I promise,it always takes time to get use to a new routine. And I am saying that to myself too!!!

Oh no! Im sorry to hear about your basement and LC not feeling well. Hope things get better for you soon!

she's 17 months old now and what a personality! she's amazing and so funny, but nobody told me how hard raising a toddler would be! the tantrums are horrendous!!! cheesy
