Wow...seems like if I don't check this thread every day, I have to go back 10 pages to read everything! =p

Thank you for all the welcomes! I have been at MMC for two years now but mainly stayed in the Fun and Games section...this is really my first foray into the outside world of the forum. :) So...I guess there is a lot to learn on this thread...someone mentioned a pas de deux? I fancy myself a dancer, so in the words of Crazy!Charlie Sheen - "Bring it!" haha And what is this Pines I see mentioned? Can a new poster ask such questions? ;)

I hope everyone who's mentioned feeling sick feels better! I was sick pretty much the entire time from end of November thru the end of February, so I know how sucky that can be!

My St. Patty's Day was pretty uneventful, I had to work both jobs so it kinda sucked and I didn't get to drink any Irish whiskey or green beer. Sadness.

Tonight I am going out with friends to watch March Madness and celebrate St. Patty's a day late! Can't wait...does anyone else have March Madness? I go crazy over it (I have a bracket in a pool at my one job)...is there a thread on the forum anywhere dedicated to that? I tried looking but couldn't find one.

Okay, this post is a little long...was going to bring up a situation I might need some outside advice on, but I don't know if this is the place for it! Either way, I'm glad to be here! :)

You can ask or tell anything here, this is where our Christmas "family" is strongest, we encourage, help, support each other to the best of our ability through this thread.

Good evening,

Well, another day down, one more until a day off. I can't wait, it will also be LC's b-day and party on Sunday. It reached the mid-60's today almost all the snow is gone, the snow mountains in all the parking lots will probably be here until May.

Has anyone heard from SuperDave? I noticed when I was searching for Crown's explanation of the Pines, Carl... that Dave had deleted a number of his posts in the countdown.

Have a great night!

I am so far behind here, trying to catch up too. I hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day! as we enter late March it's hard to believe it has been 3 months since the Holidays! before we know it we will be below 200 days until the season is upon us again! I am doing better with my voice and my cough and plan to go home sat. I am taking a more scening drive through Pa,and West Virginia, and western Va this time since I will have more time to travel since I will not have to be back at work until the week after next. I hope everyone has a great and safe weekend!

Have a safe, scenic drive---glad to hear the Hydromet is doing its work and you're feeling better.

here I am in Garry IN, having supper. We will spend the night here before going to WI. Do not know where from there. But I am having fun learning everything so far. I think I will enjoy this job!

Gary, Indiana----there's a song about it ...

Wow it has been a long day. I will have to catch up tomorrow. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring Break 2011 is here...and spring has shown up with it! Great weather....week off (kinda)...and it's time to work in the yard and relax! I can't wait!!!

We went and bought groceries for this weekend....cookout tomorrow and I'm pretty excited. About to head to bed. Going to be a long day tomorrow. Rest assured, it will start here and with a pot of coffee! Anybody want to come over...omelets at 9:00!

Wow xmas365, thanks for digging up that post! Think I understand a little more about everything, although I'm still waiting for the pas de deux explanation! =)

Well...the situation I was going to ask about is a little complicated. Right now, I have two jobs...one as an admin assistant at a big department store, the other as a sales associate at a card shop. I make minimum wage at the card shop, and a decent amount as an admin. Both are part time jobs, and I am lucky to get 40 hours a week between both jobs. So...it's a bit frustrating, especially when I'm trying to pay off loans and save for vacations, a future wedding/honeymoon, etc.

Well, a few days weeks ago, I interviewed for a warehouse position with amazon.com. It would be for an inbound freight position...something I have never done before. It's only about a dollar more an hour than I'm making as an admin, but it's a guaranteed (at least) 40 hours per week.

My struggle is, do I give up both jobs (which I really do enjoy, especially since my college degree was in business admin) for this one full time job? Yes, it would be nice to have a full time job (and it's only 4 days a week as opposed to 6, which is what I end up working between both jobs), but I can't help but feel that taking the amazon job is a step in the wrong direction. I finally have a job in the field I studied for, I enjoy it and am respected in it...it's just the money aspect. And this local amazon warehouse is notorious for overhiring people and then laying them off after a few months. Not to mention that the guy I've been talking with there always balks when I ask questions about ANYTHING, and can't seem to understand that I want to give my jobs 2 weeks notice before I start (he's called me twice, asking me to start the very next day, and I've told him both times that I can't...).

Looking back on what I wrote just now, it seems obvious that my answer should be to not take this job, but I don't know. Does anyone have any advice or insight? I could really use some right now...

now that is a tricky situation...but the way it seems.....I say keep Your both jobs and keep on applying for others. Especially the aspect of this amazon warehouse overhiring and layin the employees off after a few months. You would give up two jobs You love for this one....and in the end You might lose this job and would have take any job You can get...sorry for this situation...but I think I wouldn´t give the other two up...just keep on apply.

Anybody want to come over...omelets at 9:00!
Yummy!

I feel keeping both jobs would be best. The other one seems a bit demanding on you just up and quitting your other jobs without a 2 weeks notice. I doubt that would look good on a future resume if you just quit like that. You seem happy with the other jobs. They laying off part don't seem reassuring as well.

I can speak from experience. I use to help manage apartments for over 10 years and was miserable. I got a free apartment and money was decent but I hated it. The job itself was not bad, it was the gossipy, nosy and a few out of control neighbors that made me dislike what I was doing. I now work for lower income and SO MUCH more happy! I have been at this job for over 8 years and don't regret it one bit!

To me, happiness will take your further than money! cheesy

Good Saturday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm posting LIVE from Bernie's Store in beautiful Bellville, GA! That's right, Bernie is fully computerized now! I don't think he likes it too much, but he'll come around.

I can't stay, just wanted to say "Hey!"

Welcome again to VSU! Our good friend Binger is the source of the dance references. Maybe he'll explain it while he works on our newest opera.

Have a great Saturday, everyone! cheesy

I'll try and post every so often to tell you all how its going, i haven't told mayn people that i want to write, or what im writing, but i thought i'd tell my christmas friends all about it, i thought you;d like to know.

Good morning everyone! I was thinking today was the first day of spring, but I just checked and it is tomorrrow,so now I will tell everyone "happy last day of winter"! Although spring has hit much of the country early this year it seems winter has been gone a few weeks now. I am getting better each day and am looking forward to going home tos ee my dogs. I called home last night and talked to the sitter and she put the phone up to thier ears and my daushund started whimpering and wagging her tail when she heard my voice and my mastiff bulldog "snowball" tried to eat the phone when he heard me talk.
Last night I stayed up late watching a movie called '2012' and it was sorta good but it was one of those movies that you can't stop without seeing the end. but then at the end it just made you feel "blah" and all depressed.lol anyhow Hope all of you have a great Saturday!

I know what you mean about missing your dogs! I even leave for one night and miss mine badly! One of my dogs gets so upset when I leave that he will stay under the bed until I return home. =(

Thanks for assisting Vsuclaribnl, XMas365. (And Carl thanks you too!)

Good Morning, Fellow Weekend Travelers and Christmas Voyagers.

Incredibly, another weekend is here again already.
How can they come and go so quickly?

And what else is coming and going so quickly you might ask?
<< Oh, Crown! Always the lead-ins! >>
Why not, little voice?
Days to the Season: 239
Days to Christmas Day: 281
Yes, it's the Milestones. They seem to be coming and going more quickly than ever this year for some reason.
And speaking of Milestones.....
<< There you go again! >>
Shhhh!
One week from today is the 1/4 Milestone to Christmas Day!

It's a calm, sunny and absolutely beautiful morning here in NC where the temp is already up to the 64 degree mark with no rain predicted.
(I need to get out and take that walk ASAP!)

Hey! May each and every one of you have a Simply Sensational Saturday!
Enjoy yourself to the limit in the spirit of the Christmas Season.
And may the NCAA Basketball team of your choice prove victorious today and tomorrow.
(Unless they are playing against an ACC team, of course!)

It seems like you would not be happy at the warehouse job so I would stay at the 2 jobs you enjoy.
