A friend had to put to sleep their 12-year old dog today and I was curious if you believe dogs and other animals go to heaven after they pass away? I ask because there is someone at my work who said dogs don't have a soul, so they will not get to heaven. It made me think what others have to say on this topic.

I feel like your mom. She is just a little older than I, but I LOVE Disneyland. When some of my students shared on Friday that they went to Disneyland during the Easter break, I asked them if they went on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan's Flight, and a few others. They could not believe those were my favorite rides!!! I wish my mom was still here so I could cherish her. At least I have my memories! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and to all your moms!!!

Speaking of being a kid all your life and since it's Mothers Day tomorrow I thought this to be appropriate to talk about my mom.

My mother has shared so many fond memories of her childhood. She grew up on the beach in Long Beach, California, Naples, California and at one time right around the corner from Disneyland. She would tell the stories of her parents taking her to the beach, up in the mountains and she also got to sing in a choir on grand opening day of Disneyland. Also the many trips she use to take and the time she spent in Palm Beach.

She never grew up and it's a good thing! She went onto sharing childhood memories by taking me and my kids (her grandchildren) to Disneyland twice, Disney World twice, Sea World, Water Parks, Skating, movies, train trips across the country and many other places.

She is almost 70 and still doing all these things and now sharing it with my grandchildren (her great grandchildren)! We have not gone to Disney yet with them but she talks about it all the time and VERY READY to go back.

She said she loves these places because she feels like a kid again. I am glad she has passed this onto me! I love my mom! It's good to feel young all your life!

I don't want to open a bucket of worms but as far as my own personal belief......yes, I believe they have souls. I believe they go to heaven. I believe if human beings can go to heaven that animals who are completely innocent certainly can. I am looking forward to seeing my beloved furchildren who have gone on some day..xo

Animals and heaven? Hmmm....humans are animals, we go to heaven.

I think that heaven is all things beautiful. My dogs are there waiting on me, playing with all the other dogs....

to get to the animals have no soul comment.......I think that is totally wrong......how come they can be heard whining, when their human is gone....how come gorillas, bonobos and monkeys like that are grieving when one of their group and especially when their babies die? if they have no soul....how can they be happy to see their human....or their animal friends?.....I totally believe animals have a soul and will one day share their space in heaven with us

the prophet Isaiah says God will include animals in the new heavens and new earth:

"The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent’s food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, says the LORD." (Isaiah 65: 25, NIV)
In the last book of the Bible, Revelation, the Apostle John’s vision of heaven also included animals, showing Christ and the armies of heaven "riding on white horses." (Revelation 19:14, NIV)

Most of us can't picture a paradise of unspeakable beauty without flowers, trees, and animals. Would it be heaven for an avid birdwatcher if there are no birds? Would a fisherman want to spend eternity with no fish? And would it be heaven for a cowboy without horses?

Long day of cleaning and working and rescuing kittens - they get into a lot of trouble at times! The one was having trouble seeing, so I cleaned its eyes out and now when it hears my voice it comes running - I love kittens. Good thing I live on an old farm and can have a few around.

Good evening, everyone. It is raining right now, so I am spending time inside. I only have one load of laundry left that I will do tomorrow when we take off the last of our dirty clothes to start the week off with all clean clothes. There are only five more weeks of school. Then I have to plan to move my classroom materials to another classroom, meet for a week to plan for next year, teach a week of summer school, and relax. I have worked hard to get lesson plans done for the first trimester of school so I can totally relax with the holidays in mind. I am also going to spend LOTS of time making scrapbooking stuff to sell at the Christmas bazaar. I hope that goes well. If it does, I might consider that a side job for me during my retirement years. I hope everyone has a great evening!! It must be getting time for a new prize when we reach 9,600 posts. It won't be long now! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Evening Everyone!!!!! It turned out to be a beautiful day here in central Indy. It was supposed to storm all day but we only got a few showers this morning and the storms just arrived about an hour ago. I had my neighbors over today to watch the Kentucky Derby coverage and to get caught up after a long winter. I think everyone enjoyed getting caught up and watching the race. My pick for the race didn't go to well. They had been calling for rain during the race all week so I picked a horse that runs good in the mud. Then it never rained. That is why you should never place your bet the day before the race. Now I am kicking back and watching the nascar race. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys! It was our community yard sale today. I was hunting for some good Christmas stuff, found some old things but nothing I really needed, so I didn't buy anything... my hubby got suckered into buying trucks for Jude, shocker! 3 boys in our house (hubby and the kids) = too many trucks ! Daddy is just as bad as the boys!

We tried to take a walk (so I could peek in the alleys and see if any of the yard salers put their junk in the trash - I LOVE trash picking, haha!) but we got rained on! OH and if you have a sweet tooth - I made these today:

We rescued 6 kittens last year, found a home for 2 of them, and we kept 4. We love them and they are such fun to have around.

Another busy day at work today, day off tomorrow we will be having a small cookout for my wife and mother in law. I enjoyed watching the Derby, congrats to Animal Kingdom for winning, and I am glad to hear Archarcharch will be okay after after fracturing his leg, he will have a surgery but it is non-life threatening. I love watching them run, and my boys were glued to watching them run.
