Christmas Countdown - 2011

I saw my mom off at the airport for a trip to Vermont (to visit my sister) this morning.
Good evening, friends!
It is a beautiful Sunday evening here in Ottawa. I am writing this from the balcony of my apartment and love it. It's so nice outside! I did not get up to a whole lot today. I woke up a little earlier than expected, so I went to watch some of the Ottawa Marathon. Runners from around the world come to this marathon. Unfortunately, I missed the winner (who finished in 2 hours and 10 minutes), as well as my friend who I went to go cheer on at the finish line (he was about 2 hours behind), but I saw a few other friends competing. It was a good time.
Other than that, I enjoyed most of the Indy 500. I was sad to see Paul Tracy brush the wall early and derail his chances of winning the Indy... Of course, seeing Alex Tagliani falter was not good either. The finish was very exciting, however! JR Hildebran. Wow. I felt bad for the guy. Bad luck on that final turn. But, Dan Wheldon is a true professional and I am glad to see a guy that is so well liked end up in Victory Lane.
Not much else here! I hope all is well with everyone else.

Enjoy the nice weather for us, Brent! Baking down here in Pennsylvania!!!!! Hubby FINALLY put the a/c unit n our bedroom so the kids are camping out in our room until he puts the other window units in.... kinda fun! And we're all cool!

Cookout went very well, very yummy. JP lost his first his first tooth today, he was so excited. So we have our first visit from the tooth fairy coming tonight. I hope everyone had a great day.

I got a great surprise today when visiting at my parents - I got to go see my 6yo nephew play in his little league baseball game! He just started a few weeks ago and I hadn't gotten to go to a game yet. Turns out he had one rained out earlier and it was rescheduled for today.
He looked adorable in his little uniform - he's tiny, so of course he was swimming in it! They don't keep score in this level and every kid gets to run the bases at some point. But Connor made a BIG hit and I was so proud!
It ended up being a beautiful day out and I really enjoyed just being able to spend it with my family and relax. We made some plans for a whole (extended) family camping trip in August. It may be pretty hot right then, but should be a great time. Can you even believe how far we'll be into the countdown by August?!? Just gets me so excited to even think about!
Anyways, I'll be working tomorrow for Memorial Day, but I've got some exciting plans for this week - so Monday doesn't seem so daunting this time. Hope it is the same for some of you!

Well my full day of racing is over. It was amazing to see the National Guard car leading in the final turn of the Indy 500 and then again in the Coca Cola 600. Unfortunately neither of those cars managed to win the race. All of the cheering and then throwing things when Junior ran out of gas has wore me out. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!!

We are closed at work today for Memorial Day but I go in to feed the animals. It won't take me long, then Wayne and I get to hang out together for the rest of the day!

Hi Everyone!
We have just returned from our camping trip and are all dirty to the core! it was sooooo wet and windy. Some how - prob due to my colouring, I'm a red head - I managed to catch the Sun and my face is glowing like a beacon.
I have tons of washing to get through no idea when or how I will do it. My husband is off to Korea tomorrow and the children are off school on holiday for the week so its going to be chaotic as I have to work as well.:-? It will be friday again before we know it.

Its going to be a hot one in London Ontario. No rain for the whole week! Yay! But the heat is going to make me melt. We had some big thunderstorms yesterday though. Might be a good week to break out some Christmas music/movies, but...wait...EVERY WEEK is a good time for that!!! Well I better get back to work. Hope you are all doing well! Have a great day.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Mouse - I love you guys! She had a great day, sleeping most of the day and then attacking my book as I was reading in bed. Come to think of it, I had a great day, too cheesy
The sun is out and the air is heavy with humidity - going to be a nice day as there are no thunderstorms or downpours in the forecast. Yesterday it poured for about an hour and I woke up to more water in the basement this morning. My trip to 'Muth is cancelled since I have to monitor the rising water. Dag is mowing the lawn - it is very wet out but the grass is so tall he is starting early.
