I forgot to mention but we took the Amtrak train to San Antonio and back. I have traveled all across America by train but it was the first time for my grandsons. It was an adventure for them.

We got a roomette on our way there and coach coming back. We were not on the train overnight but we thought the kids would think it's fun and they loved it! It takes 10 hours to get there. It's only 5 hours to drive there but the train makes lots of stops. The roomettes have seats with a top bunk bed. At night the seats make into another bed. When you get a roomette all your meals are free. We ate in the dining car for lunch and then for dinner we requested to eat in our room. Our sleeping car attendant delivered it to us. We tipped him well for his trouble. We would order ourselves and bring it to our room but it's not allowed. Only your sleeping car attendant must bring it to you.

My favorite train trip was the one through the Colorado mountains. I want to do that again sometime! It starts in Chicago and ends in Emeryville, California. It takes 3 days and 2 nights. When we did that trip we had a bedroom the whole time. It was great!

I love, love, LOVE traveling by train! I'm pretty jealous of your trip through the Colorado mountains. I've always wanted to do that! When I used to travel to see my DH (then BF) near Disney Land, I would purposefully fly into San Diego and then take the train up the coast to see him. It was always a beautiful train ride. I'm glad the boys enjoyed it - its a neat experience.

Happy Fathers day to all the fathers on MMC! Hope you all have a great day.
Shame about the weather here in the uk, its a miserable rainy day today!!

We wont see xmas decs out over here till maybe late september/ october time, cant believe how close that feels now! This year is going by so quick!

We've had a new addition to the family since I was last on here, my sister-in-law gave birth to her first child, a beautiful little girl! They have named her Mia, she is so adorable!!

Going to read through the rest of the forums now and catch up. Have a great sunday everyone! x:snowball:

Congrats to your family.

I'm baaaaaaaack!

I MISSED YOU ALL!

I am so exhausted and I have church and work today. We had a very nice time but so worn out!

We had to skip Seaworld. :-? Not sure what we were thinking but the temps have been reaching in the 100's here, then we go south for a vacation? It was over 100 everyday there. My mom doesn't do well at all in the heat and just walking on the Riverwalk was even getting to the kids even though there are tons of shade trees and near water. Everyone we talked to at our hotel who went to Seaworld said they were miserable and we just did not want to take the chance. Summers in Texas are just no fun if you want to be outdoors.

We still had a wonderful time and would walk around early in the morning and late in the evening. It was still HOT though! =) The boys thought the Alamo was really cool.

We scored a 2 bedroom suite by just asking for an upgrade (which I ask every time I check into a hotel). It was helpful in case we had to keep the kids separated. They are brothers and like to fight sometimes. Lol! The hotel has a rooftop pool that overlooks the city. The hotel itself is right on the Riverwalk.

When I get a chance I will post some pictures.

I am now ready for some Christmas!

I am not sure if I will get a chance to catch up on the post but will do my best! cheesy

Welcome back! Glad you had a good time.

Hey Christmas friends! Happy Father's Day to all of the dad's here on MMC. My daddy is in the Ukraine right now on a mission trip, so I'll send him a text message to tell him I'm thinking of him - otherwise it is too expensive to call really.

My hubby WAS going to have to his Father's day pressure washing the driveway and siding, but instead, we've decided to spend it demolishing the dry wall in the kitchen LOL! We haven't even finished the remodel in the bathroom yet, but we're ready to start another project. We have 10 days until we have 35-45 people coming over for a bbq - so we decided we should either start today or wait until after. We've got some volunteers to help us hang dry wall on Tuesday, so - here we go! It will be worth it!

Sometime this week I'll have to check out our Hobby Lobby to see if there is any hint of Christmas there. I was excited enough about fall stuff being out, but Made's picture of the first batch of Christmas items being out has me giddy!! Think I'll go drive hubby crazy and play some Christmas music during demo! And to keep DD (3yo) entertained while we work, I'll turn on Polar Express and Elf for her - that ALWAYS works, cause she's a Christmas nut already like her mama cheesy

Enjoy your day everyone!

Good Morning!
And a Fantastic Fathers' Day to each and every Dad out there.
My sister, nieces and I are taking our father out to dinner at noon.
The restaurant has yet to be decided upon.

Wow!
Another week nearing an end so soon.
And the count goes on and on and......
Days to the Season: 147
Days to Christmas Day: 189
Precisely ONE week from today we reach the 50 percent mark to Christmas Day!

Rain and wind arrived yesterday evening and we lost power for about 45 minutes. No damage to speak of however, and it's calm and sunny here this morning as I type this.
We are already at 78 on the way up to a predicted high of 94 by this afternoon.
Rain is still in the forecast, too.

Well, you have a Super Sunday, Friends.
If you haven't called Dad yet to wish him a HFD, get right on it!
(And how about an early "Merry Christmas" while you're at it?)

I'm baaaaaaaack!

I MISSED YOU ALL!

Welcome back, C-A-H, sounds like it was a great vacation! I've never had an extended trip on a train---just Boston to New York City---sounds like it would be a fun experience. Good luck on getting caught up!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is going to be in the 100s for several days here in northern California. Not my kind of weather by a long shot. Bring on the cool, crisp fall days! Happy Father's Day to all the dads and those who fill in for dads. It's an awesome job you have! Hope you all have a great day full of fun, frivolity, and fantastic weather!

Good morning, friends! Just sitting here watching King Kong (they got Christmas trees) and drinking coffee. After this cup, I'm going to head outside and do some watering. Going to a little cook-out later, but that's gong to be late this afternoon so I got a while.

CAH, welcome back!

To all the Dad's out there....Happy Father's Day! Did everyone see? We have under 150 days until the season arrives! I can't wait!!

See everyone later this evening! Stay cool!

I just mowed the lawn on Father's day. Isn't there a law against that? cheesy
Yes; if the yard wasn't yours
Welcome back, CAH. Something was definitely missing while you were gone!
Yep, half of the transplanted Texans! Glad y'all had a fun safe trip.

Good Afternoon MMC!

finally have most of the camping stuff cleaned up and almost put away. We really need to get a new dinning tent. Our old one is now in the dumpster because after 10 years, it is at a point where it leaks every where and had so many patches on it that the patches had patches!

But, we had a great time at our TOPS provincial rally, so many people to meet, so little time! cheesy A very inspirational time. The lady who lost the most and became our queen lost 194lbs!

the weekend is almost over. I will bring Kandice to bed in a few. Had nice day today...won an auction on ebay for a living room table.......1 Euro....for my moms place....then went to my grandparents...then to the carnival....and then cooked some nice dinner.....it was yummie.....now I am stuffed and tired...lol

Hello everyone! Happy Fathers Day to all the great dads I know are in this Christmas community. :) I am about to go visit mine, as well as my grandparents. I feel bad that I haven't been over in a while, but life has just been so crazy. He is out golfing now so I know his Fathers Day has already been made! :)

Not much has been going on...spent Friday and last night in the company of good friends having way too much fun. Also worked at Hallmark and finally got my Dreambook! Ahhhh I can't wait to order some of these ornaments!! It's really gonna be hard once we have them in store...I better pad my bank account now!!

By the way, thank you to whomever here (I'm assuming it's someone in this thread, as this is the one I post in most frequently) gifted me a platinum membership!! I was told the person wanted to be anonymous, but I wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU shoutout anyway. I have wanted to go back platinum for a while, but money issues have redirected me away from that...so finding Jeff's message in my inbox this morning made me so happy!!! Thank you again, anonymous Christmas friend!!!! <3 <3

Hope everyone has/had a great Sunday!!
