MerryCarey, you're from Maine? I couldn't remember and can't find where you posted where you are from.

We met a gentleman on the train from Maine. Our first stop was Ft. Worth, Texas, he stepped off the train and inhaled deeply and said, "so this is what hot feels like"! He said he liked it since Maine just got their last freeze recently. cheesy

Dean Martin is on MMC Radio right now singing "Baby, It's Cold Outside." My kind of music, for sure!! Love it!

LOVE that song - my kind of music, too!

I'll be offline for a week starting tomorrow---going on vacation! Tell you about it when we get back. Spending today on laundry and packing and such, then up at 3 a.m. to go to the airport for an early flight. I may poke my head back in again a couple times today.

Have a safe trip, MerryCarey!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It's supposed to be in the 100s today. Ugh! It's also the first day of summer school. We only have one week and class is in session from 8-11 a.m. I'm teaching third grade (what a surprise!) concentrating on math, multiplication in particular. We're going to play math games all week. We're starting out with Yahtzee. This helps them multiply and add and use some strategies. I love the game myself. We are also going to play Multiplication War and several other games. Most of the games use cards or dice, so these are games the kiddos can play at home to practice. I think we will have a big game day on Friday where the kids choose the game they want to play and give prizes to the winners: cards and dice!! Listening to MMC Radio. I think I need a jumpstart to this week. Have a great day, everyone!

My dad and I used to play KISMET - a lot like Yahtzee, but the straight was much harder to get. We kept track of who had the most wins, KISMETS, straights, etc. I still have the tally sheet some where cheesy

Hey guys! Another day, another...Um...Well, let's just say less than a dollar! It is at the end of June when I start getting the itch...And we are almost there...I have massive computer problems at home...Motherboard...So until it's fixed, I'm only on whist at work...So hello! And have a good thought for the soul of New Jersey's own Clarence Clemmons...I trust he is now playing sax for a band that only God could form!

"the change was made UPtown when the Big Man joined the band" !

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!! It has been a wild morning here in central Indy. We had strong storms roll thorugh starting at 5:30am. We got 6 inches of rain in about 4 hours. I am watching the news and they are showing flooding in places I have never seen flood before. The street I grew up on was flooded and I know that has never happened before. Now they are saying we could get even more rain this afternoon. I had planned on runnimg some errands this afternoon but now I think I will stay at home. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I hope everything is okay and the flooding stops!

Good afternoon! Back to work today ... Evan is still not feeling well... was very whiny all weekend, doesnt want to eat or drink anything... today is day 5 so he should be feeling a lot better soon I hope. Its hard taking care of a sick 4 year old and a 2 year old (who Im praying doesnt get sick).

I pray that Evan is better!

Well, here it is the 20th of June and summer is yet to begin here in Utah. The talk for two months has been about the impending floods of Biblical proportions but it just hasn't happened because it has been so cold and wet. Yesterday it rained more in one day twice as much as what falls during a normal month of June. We're yet to touch 90 on the temps and it snowed a foot above 10,000 feet yesterday.

So very weird. I'm starting to wonder if this is the year we have snowcapped mountains year round. If I get fireworks pictures with snow in the background that would be pretty crazy.

That would be such a cool picture!

Good evening, MMC!

I am done working for the day - time to relax. There are storms in the forecast for the next few days and some could be severe. Hopefully they won't hit while I am gone tomorrow - going to an Amish store to stock up on baking supplies. They have an eleven grain flour that makes the best pizza crust.

Have a great evening - stay safe and dry!

Pleasant dreams!!!!

Good morning! We had such a busy weekend - I feel like I didn't even sit down! But now we're back to normal life and having a lazy Monday morning!

One of my dear boys have stolen the downstairs TV remote.... Heaven forbid I have to GET UP to change the channel, lol! My mission today is to find the darn thing... where the heck could it be!?

Hope all the dads out there had a great day yesterday!!!!

What?!!! You can change the TV without a remote!! Unheard of! cheesy

Sounds like an old Edgar Kennedy two-reel comedy!

Have a great vacation!
I'll keep the Massachusetts portion of the posts going in your absence. cheesy

Stay dry, and I hope the flooding recedes quickly.

And with this post, Happyelf is poster #12,600. For her efforts, she wins a paper bag from McDonald's. It even still smells like the cheeseburger mini-meal!

QUOTE=happyelf;350387]Lovely day in the UK today. I bought a new coffee cup and after making a nice latte this morning its still warm (8 hours later) I am very impressed!

Just going to sneak a listen to the next podcast.

Catch you all later.

Is there grease stains on the bag, it is worth more with grease stains!

Has anyone heard of getting cabin fever in the summer? It's happening here right now for all of us. The kids want to go outside to ride their bikes but the heat is unbearable. Grrrrrrrrr! Hopefully we can go to the spray water park tomorrow.

Oh well, time to find something creative to do inside. cheesy

I HATE the summer, I prefer being outside when its in the 30's or 40's. Did I mention I HATE summer.

Have I congratulated you on your teams win yet, Xmas365? If not, CONGRATULATIONS!

I will slowly but surely get on track to keep up with all the post. I am still catching up from getting back in town.
