Unless you are a transplanted Southerner, a Californian has no clue to boiled peanuts!!!

Hey Brad! One of the grocery stores here now carries, Roddenberry brand boiled peanuts. That is my very favorite brand! I have not got over there yet to get some but will real soon!

Okay, everyone who is on right now. What are you having for dinner? I SO don't know what to fix!! Help me out here!

I roasted chicken drumsticks with bacon, chopped some potatoes, boiled them and then roasted them, and then sauteed broccoli with garlic.. mmm. I don't eat meat but the hubby liked it!! I ate some leftover frittata with spinach and cheddar.

Crazy storm today and the whole Borough of our town lost power!! Mine was only out for an hour and a half but my sister's and other friends' were out for 3+ hours! And it was soooo humid today... it was interesting! I was making dinner and then bam - out! Trying to entertain the kids in the heat with no fans, no AC and crazy rain was ... interesting! HAHA!

As Anna Roseanna Danna would say, " Never mind." Hubby just came in and asked what was for dinner. Then he suggested hamburgers with the leftover mac and cheese. PERFECT!!! So he will do the grilling and I will do the chilling!!!

speaking of storms, this just came up on the weather report...
The Perth-Huron region including Stratford is under a severe thunderstorm watch. Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms this evening hours ahead of an approaching cold front.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!! It has been a wild morning here in central Indy. We had strong storms roll thorugh starting at 5:30am. We got 6 inches of rain in about 4 hours. I am watching the news and they are showing flooding in places I have never seen flood before. The street I grew up on was flooded and I know that has never happened before. Now they are saying we could get even more rain this afternoon. I had planned on runnimg some errands this afternoon but now I think I will stay at home. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our weather in Wisconsin has been wacky and unpredictable. We rocket between heat and humidity to pulling out the fleece jackets again!
I can hardly believe we are closing in on the fourth of July!

what is a boiled peanut?

Ask Bradmac!!!!
Or ask me! cheesy

It's not something common here in Texas but a friend of mine from Georgia brought me some back from her home town over 25 years ago. I thought they tasted weird at first but got hooked real fast!

It's almost impossible to make them unless you have fresh picked peanuts (not raw from the store). They have to be fresh where they are still a little soft then boil them in lots of salt water. I have attempted to make them with raw and they just don't cook right. After they are boiled they are soft inside the shell and salty. Yummy!

I buy them canned and they are perfect!

Do I have the cooking process right, Brad??? =)

We had a cool front come in today. The high was only 91 degrees and it actually felt WONDERFUL! Time to get out sweater! He he!

Temps will get up to near 100 tomorrow and the rest of the week.
