Our weekend fun is done and I head back to work today. Have to take Lindsay to Toronto for her therapy appointment.
Still working on the cakes for the coming weekend.

Watching news of Prince William and Kate doing their Canadian tour. Looks like they are having fun with it. They are refreshing as royals go, actually stopping to talk to people.

Good Morning.
And a HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY to each and all!

We are back from the mountains of Virginia.
Had nice, cool, low humidity weather with no rain!!
Everyone had a good time, even Fox the dog.
(The only negative was the insects. Gnats flying around our faces almost constantly.)

My thanks to dependable Ballcoach for taking over the count for the last 2 days and preventing a dangerous lapse.
(No telling WHAT might have happened!!)

Days to the Season: 132
Days to Christmas Day: 174
Ten days -- less than 1 1/2 weeks away -- from the 2/3 Season Milestone.
(That's SINGLE DIGITS as of tomorrow!!)

Well, it never got below 80 all night here and daily temps well into the 90's are predicted for the entire forecast period.
(Yeah. We are DEFINETELY back from the mountains!)

Yawn......talk about tired. Think I'm going to be lazy today. The deck is 95% painted, but I'm not finishing it today. Been working on the yard since Friday at noon, so I'm going to just take a day off today!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! It is going to be a hot steamy one here as soon as these morning rain showers move through. I have to take my nieces home and help my sister set up for our 4th of July cookout. There is going to be about 40 people there so if anyone wants to come on over feel free. Help, please....

Does anyone know what, "the number or code you have dialed is incorrect", when calling someone on a cell phone? Is it bad signal or phone disconnected? My daughter and son-in-law are out of town and that is the message I get when I call them. I have never got that message before on anyone's cell phone.

"Mom moment" here, I was just getting a little worried.

Took my little girls with me to Sam's to pick up our fireworks for tomorrow night. We've got about 90 kids that live on our street and this year we're just going to block off both ends of the street with vehicles and have one giant block party. Everyone will drag out their fireworks at the same time and light them up.

We have new fireworks laws which allow for the kind that can go 30 feet in the air. If last night is any indication it will be an epic year.

My Madelyn, who turned 11 the other day, asked for and got a whole arsenal of new squirt guns including a new Nerf model that takes reloadable clips (she got three clips, too). She has been filling up water balloons all weekend, filling up every ice chest and empty box we've got.

Her efforts have led to an arms buildup in the neighborhood, one of the Dads even going so far as to build fort on his front lawn for the upcoming water fight. I'm going to head to Lowes in the morning and pick up that new nozzle I've been looking at. I know tomorrow at this time I can't be out there with any mere squirt gun and hope to survive.

My son is taking no chances either. He was at a gathering today for a Boy Scout who is trying to wrap up his Eagle project and when I went to pick him up they weren't all huddled around talking about a canned food drive any longer -- they were strategizing for the waterfight. Not too sure what is going to happen but the big tree in my front yard now has a complex system of pulleys and ropes hanging from it and there are already stashed a variety of water bombs and weapons up there. They will have to fight me for the hose so they've got only about 20 hours left to get their preparations done.

I don't think I'll need to worry about watering my lawn tomorrow.

Just a hunch.

Thanks for the info. I just got back from my job, which is a town right outside Dallas, and called on a landline and had my dad call from his phone when he was on the other side of Dallas this morning. We both got the same message. I guess something else is going on with the phones.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is going to be a scorcher here today; not my kind of weather. We plan to go to the Elks Lodge for a picnic, but I plan to eat inside with the AC! I also would love to be at the water battles. That sounds like so much fun. Jeff, what would you like for us to bring, hmmm? I hope all of y'all have a great day. Here it is 4th of July and I am about to crank up Merry Christmas Radio while I prepare the goodies for grilling.

The heat is already miserable outside. At 9:00 pm it will be 91 degrees. Yikes! Hot hot hot for fireworks! =)

It is a little overcast here toay but looks very nice outside.

Actually, I have to be honest. I got devastating news last evening that my brother-in-law who is the closest I have to a brother was discovered to have a HUGE abdominal aortic aneurysm. He is going to undergo surgery Thursday. It is not leaking and it is not ruptured (Thank God) but I am frightened. I type these things all the time and I know the stuff than can go wrong.

Anyone who prays, please pray for my dear brother-in-law Wes. Of course, the cardiologist is apparently being nonchalant about the whole thing. Has to order a patch or something and then the operation will be Thursday. I can't seem to stop crying :-?
