I have been checking in from time to time on the progress of this storm, keep safe everyone!
Just stopping by really quick while on break, Christmas family !!

Good afternoon, everyone. Had a tiring day at school today. I just got home and the house smells so good from dinner in the crockpot! Yummo! Oooo! I can hardly wait! I will be at the Pines later this evening. Hope everyone is having a great time, whether at the Pines or at home! Almost 2500 posts away from 20,000!!

I've been monitoring the weather where I live from the pines - storms are starting to pop up in the area and there is a tornado watch until 1 am. Looks like I had best get home to the fur kids. Have fun everyone!!!!

The weather here in Ottawa is not pretty. Well, it's cool and windy, but there is no storm - at least not yet. We are only supposed to get a mild thunderstorm tonight. I know that I cannot say the same thing for nearly everyone south of Ottawa.
With that said, I hope everyone in the storm areas (southern Ontario and east coast US) has a safe night. All the best this evening. Hang in there and be ready to celebrate a milestone tomorrow morning. 2/3s to Christmas already?! Wowzers!
It's good to be back, everyone! I thought I would only have some time to post every few days, but I am doing my best to make time! Soon, I will make even more time to respond to a few more posts than I currently am... There's just so many new posters now! ...and, of course, that's a great thing!

Environment Canada has issued tornado warnings for several areas next to Lake Huron in southwestern Ontario as possible twisters have been spotted. The province issued a "red alert" that will be in effect until 8:30 p.m. ET.
"One possible tornado is heading toward Shelburne in Dufferin County," said a bulletin from Environment Canada. "Another is heading toward Lucan in Middlesex County. A third is coming onshore off the Lake Huron shoreline between St. Joseph and Bayfield."
It added that a funnel cloud has been sighted over Nairn, about 40 kilometres northwest of London.
The weather office issued tornado warnings for a variety of areas in Lambton, Middlesex, Bruce, Perth, Wellington, Dufferin, Huron and Grey Counties. Environment Canada said the city of London "was not under the immediate threat of a tornado."
I left my kids there! Was just talking to them and they are fine, but as a mom I tend to worry. The tornado I told you about on Sunday was only an hour from where we live and the reported sightings today are all within an hour of our place.

My daughter says the clouds were racing by with nonstop lightening and thunder.

Not so bad at work tonight, talking to most people about the chance of a hurricane and most people looked at me like I had 3 heads. I am sure they will start getting prepared soon.
My boss talked to me about my area today, and said one of the big wigs came in yesterday and gave my area an excellent rating, I am so proud of my employees for all the great work they have done recently. They are the reason for the improvement of the area.
I hope everyone in the areas of the hurricane & tornado warnings are safe.

Please keep us posted on whats going on, I know how tough it is not being home when this frightening weather hits close to home.
Dinner was good, and we have some leftovers for tomorrow! I have learned not to play cards with Carl. He sounds just like some of my kiddos when he said, "But I can't help that I don't have opposable thumbs." Of course, my kids don't exactly say that, but they do say, "I can't help it." Hope everyone else had a great respite at the Pines.
