What part of Mass. are you in? We're in Metrowest. I was still in Maryland in '91, so I don't know what happened in Metrowest with Bob. Time to stock up on batteries and candles, I guess! We generally listen to old-time radio when the power goes out.[/QUOTE]

I live next to Plymouth so I dont have to worry about flooding from storm surge but we're usually in the right spot to get devastating winds and the trees just snap and the big pines come rite out of the ground roots and all.

13 hours and 20 minutes until QVC's Christmas in August event starts at 11pm tonight.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It will be hot again here, too, Made. Last night reading about some of us reverting to fall recipes really put me in the mood for fall. Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact (in my opinion) that the only good thing about summer is that the passing days put us closer to Christmas! Hubby will be home today, so I better get the Marsala Chicken in the crockpot. Have a great day, everyone!

OK!
Let's forget our weather worries and head to the Shispering P for lots of Carl's Famous Fired Confections and gallons of Sweet Southern Iced Tea to wash it all down.
Right, Holiday?
See you there - or see you square!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday and a Pleasantly Perfect Pinesday, Friends!

Right on Crown!! I'll finish my coffee on the trip there & clean my glass for some Sweet Southern Iced Tea!

Happy Hump Day everybody!

hey gang, i've decided to head over to the pines today so i shall see you all there!

september next week..... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning,

Just checking in before going to work. Probably will start getting busier with the threat of the storm. I will put it out of my mind for now, since it will probably interrupt me from picking up the sleigh on Sunday.

Speaking of sleighs, Santa's magic ride starts 4 months from today!

I think you're far enough inland not to worry about the worst of a hurricane---could be windy and rainy, though. I'm keeping an eye on the weather reports, too.

I've been through 2 hurricanes out here, Hurricane Gloria in 1985, and Bob in 1991, I was living in the town I live now, and that was a scary experience, lots of trees down and power outages. Bob came and I was at a warehouse with my cousin, lots of flooding and power outages with that one but not nearly as bad as Gloria, they still pack quite the punch, I am more worried about the kids reaction.

The colts have looked terrible so far and we might be in real trouble if Peyton can't go. I keep hoping everyday that I will wake up to the news that they have brought in a back up that actually knows how to throw a ball.

WooHoo!!!!!! We signed Kerry Collins this morning!!! Now if Peyton can't go we may still have a chance.

10 hours until QVC!!!!!!!!

YIPE... that sounds frightening. Thank goodness you have a few days to do whatever it is you do to get ready.

Both those were before I came to Massachusetts, so I guess I haven't experienced a real hurricane here yet. Sounds like it'll be rougher than I expect---at the least it'll be battery-and-candle time, unless the path changes. Maybe you can dream up something to keep the kids distracted if the power goes out, like "camping in" or something.

Tomorrow is shaping up into a tedious day ... I'll be office-sitting while nearly everyone else is at the big annual offsite meeting. (My choice---the offsite includes a drive to Rhode Island, plenty of beer, and drinking games---outside of my comfort zone.) I say nearly everyone because one client decided they can't live with us tomorrow, so I will have proofreading work on top of covering the phones and buzzing in deliveries. I can't while away idle time on the Internet, because the office servers are being worked on tomorrow. I guess I could look at movies on my iPod Touch, but it would be inconvenient to keep removing the earbuds to answer the phone. Bleh. Guess I can fill any downtime with the Kindle and solitaire on the iPod Touch.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! We got off to a foggy start but that has now burned off and the sun is shining. I had a great time at my cousins house last night but the colts game was terrible. They really need to find a back up quarterback that knows how to throw the ball. Today I need to run to the grocery store and maybe I'll stop by hobby lobby again. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

I was gonna ask if you'd heard that we signed Kerry Collins, but I just saw you posted about it. As a huge Penn State fan, I'm very happy to have him! I just hope he can be as consistent as we may need him to be...

That is so cool. You know you wrote last week you were going to the game and I never put it together, silly me I could have scanned the crowd for you!!! That is so nice to read. We are going to Giants Stadium this year - I know, I know - but to a Giant Fan it will ALWAYS be Giant Stadium I don't care what they call it (tee hee) It will be my 1st time at the new one I cannot wait!!!

The Giants are my second favorite team (and I started liking both the Colts and Giants before the Manning bros were even in college, just worked out that way, lol) and Travis' fave is the Jets...they are playing each other this weekend up in the Meadowlands and we were going to go. Unfortunately we couldn't afford the tickets with also going to my best friend's wedding in Florida next week. Eventually I would like to go to a pro football game somewhere!!

I hear ya Laurie! I am a calm peaceful person but get me around football and I am loud and obnoxious! Ha ha! =)

I am the EXACT same way! I scream and yell like they can actually hear me! I know they can't, but it makes me feel better. :)

I think he needs a team a little closer to home than the cowboys. You could always root for the COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I SECOND THIS!!!!

coming to you from beautiful Vermont!!!
I will give you a clue as to where we are going today...

So jealous! Hope you had fun! I will eat some of the B&J's in my freezer in your honor!

Good morning! Well today is going to be very long... Got about 3 hours of sleep due to an ill kitten. My poor buster has gotten sick about 9 times now In the last 6 hours... I'm very worried..however he doesn't go outside.. So that takes a couple possibilities outta the mix... So off to the vet we will go! I'm Hoping that it's nothing horrible:( praying whatever it is, isn't terminal. My other kitten, Emery, seems to be fine.. Full of energy, doesn't quite understand why his brother is sleeping... When he could be running around causing havoc on everything and everyone in sight! Haha

Well hope everyone's day is magical, ttfn!

I hope Buster gets better! It's hard when an animal gets sick...I even get nervous when Sangria coughs up a hairball, lol.

Good morning, Christmas friends. It will be another hot day here again today--99 degrees or higher! I will soon be off to school. My brother was admitted into the hospital in NC for inflamation on his brain. Several things are collectively wrong with him--Agent Orange esposure in Viet Nam, diabetes, (now) blindness as a result of diabetes. My niece is an RN and is keeping me informed. Hope all of y'all have a great day!

I hope your brother is doing better...I'll keep him in my thoughts.

My granddaughter is 2 years old today! =)

Happy birthday to her!! <3

And with this post, Lauriebear is poster #17,300. For her efforts, she wins a notepad to take notes when Laney gives her info about her Holiday Plan!!! Yeah!!

I am going to need it - thank you so very much!!!

"Good Night, Irene. Good Night, Irene.
I'll see you in my dreams".
(Actually, more like "I'll see you in my nightmares")!

Wow. This storm is creating quite the worry here in NC.
(At least the last couple of forecast tracks are taking it a bit further to the east.)
Our beach place is on Emerald Isle about 25-50 miles west of the currently predicted track. Still too close for comfort!
Stay safe!!!

You are so right about his ability to throw. He is always right on his mark. I love watching him and his pace is outstanding. I like that Arron though. He has just grown into an amazing QB. Good late afternoon all :)
Just trying to catch up with the posts been super busy today.:celebrate:

I hope everyone will be safe from the weather we will be getting. I love the posts about today marks four months until Christmas Eve!!! I love summer, just as I love each season but I have to admit the anticipation I get from the mere thought of chilly weather sets me in motion!!!

Good Pinesday everyone!

Im typing this from the pines. Music is being pumped in from MMC radio! Having a drink and its nice and cool. I have noticed some of the trees around the pines are starting to change! Carl just ran by singing jingle bells. Kind of off key! hah. Back to the party!!!
Bad weather with possible tornadoes are headed our way. We should be ok though. Stay safe everyone!

I hope you are lending some of these recipes for use in the MMC Cookbook! Everytime you post about your meals, I get hungry...and I just got back from lunch! cheesy
