My poor husband has been "laboring" all weekend, doing house projects! He loves to do it though, so I don't feel too bad! Got a bunch of mistint paint from Lowes (how can I resist $5/gallon paint?) and an electric fireplace- love it!!!!
I have that on dvd and watch it a lot through the year. It's a great story!
My grandkids get really excited about making money off of their teeth. cheesy

Labor Day was always important in my countdown when i was a kid....and now its 62 and raining....love it...ready for fall!
I am loving this weather! It has been months since I have been able to open the windows and let fresh air in! The cats love it too, they are sitting in the window looking out.

Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September. It originally gave workers the chance to campaign for better working conditions or pay. The day is now part of a long weekend for many Canadians.
Post offices, many businesses, and many organizations are closed on Labour Day in Canada. Schools and other educational establishments are also closed, as Labour Day falls at the end of the summer holiday period.

I don't think most people know! I've seen the American flag used in two places as a Labor Day icon, as though it were Memorial Day! Wikipedia phrases it well: Labor Day "celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers." (Note: It's NOT a patriotic holiday!) On the side, it's also considered "the end of summer." So we went to DQ for hot dogs and ice cream for lunch.
Our priest spoke on Labor Day at Mass last night, mentioning the Haymarket Affair and the Pullman Strike. You can read about it on Wikipedia. Thank goodness it is no longer associated with violence!!!

Yes...we were to have a picnic outside, but it's been raining here all day. We're to get 6-10 inches of rain by the end of the week. We ended up eating inside. It was still nice to get together with the family!
Good afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day for you who are celebrating, otherwise, hope everyone else is having great day! My family was supposed to have a picnic at my house, but it's been raining all day - pouring at times - we're supposed to get 6 to 10 inches of rain this week - blah! So...we moved the picnic instead and still had a blast! We're supposed to go to the county fair tomorrow, but I doubt we will be able to do that now because of the rain. I know we sometime need rain, but it can really ruin plans too!

Wow what a change in the weather! Fall is here! Its been in the high 50's today. Check THIS out. 2 days ago it was 90+. Crazy eh? God must have said "The heck with this weather" and pushed fall through! Thanks God! heh. I listened to my Christmas cd all the way to work. Made this Monday bearable! So the 3rd weekend of this month I put out my Autumn/Halloween stuff! It will be Fall so nobody can tell me NO! hahahaah. I cant wait!!! Ill have to take another trip to Michael's and take more pictures for you all. We visited Dad at his new place in Kingsville. It was fun. Well back to work I go. Its labor day and I'm-a laboring. Yup. My work is open 365 days a year. Have a good evening!!!
