I've been a MMC Member for quite some time, but always a "reader" and not a poster. I'm not sure exactly what is motivating me to "take the plunge" but I feel like I already know many of you from reading your posts for years. I've always been a great lover of all things Christmas, at one time a loner in my thoughts until I ound this forum a few years ago and realized I wasn't the only yuletide nut out there - in fact we seem to be all over the world. Over the years my wife gave up resisting and began enjoying our families "stretched-out holiday season. For years, my family (wife and two girls) have gathered in front of the TV every Friday night at 7PM starting the first Friday in September (our unofficial start to the season) to watch a Christmas movie - in accordance with the official schedule posted on the refrigerator in mid-August. I've had to warn my girls that they might not want to tell their friends at school about our strange little tradition until they get a little older as they might not understand - my older daughter started high school last year and told her best friends how early her family starts celebrating Christmas and most of them thought it was great and were jealous. Last weekend we visited Rosemary Clooney's former house in Augusta, KY because they have a whole room dedicated to the movie White Christmas. Lots of original costumes and the feathers from the tune "Sister" that some of you might remember. Great Stuff! Anyway - thanks to all of you for feeding my Christmas cravings over the years - I feel like I'm coming out of the proverbial "Christmas closet".

Welcome to the countdown! I felt alone before I found MMC myself, this place is the greatest! I look forward to reading more of your posts, and I am glad you came out of the "Christmas closet."

Good morning, Christmas family!

I hope this finds everyone well!

It is a gorgeous day out - chilly, but sunny. So far we have dodged the frost bullet here - the garden continues to produce beans and tomatoes. I think the pears are finally off of the tree, though. We had a very big crop this year - I was able to give some away :)

I am going to put Annie Lennox's Christmas CD on in a few minutes and decorate for fall. I just might sneak in a few Christmas decorations, too

Have a Super Merry Sunday!!!!!!!!!!

Our pear tree has given us the biggest crop and biggest pears it has ever given us this year, we have picked a ton off of it and given a lot away, but we still have so many out on the tree, and they are sooo sweet this year.

Good morning,

I think I am feeling worse today than any day so far, I am supposed to be going back to work tomorrow. Not much on the docket for today, I will be sitting in my indention that I have made on the couch the last 5 days.

I received a flyer from Toys R Us today, and they are having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on a lot of different toys for different age groups, I wish I could get out there today to do some Christmas shopping.

Have a great football Sunday!

Me, too!

Thank you, CAH! Palmer is doing loads better this afternoon - hungry and playful :D

So happy to hear this, Meceka!!

Yay - another Tiger fan!!! I am very excited - love, love, love them!!!!!!!!

Thank you, snowflake22!!!
That sounds like a very interesting show to watch - I love documentaries!

You're very welcome!! I thought of all of you guys when I watched it recently. In fact, I think I'll put it on my Christmas wish list =)

What a sweetie he is!!!

Thanks, he really is!! I'm very fortunate!

good morning mmc. just here to mention that it is only 97 days til christmas

WOOHOO!!! I can barely contain myself =)

Wayne went and played golf yesterday with the guys from church. He enjoyed himself! I enjoyed the day just resting while he played golf! It was great, I needed it!

Glad you both had a great day, CAH!!

When he got home we went to Hobby Lobby, Cracker Barrel gift shop (did not eat there, just shopped) and Dollar Tree. We went to Cracker Barrel for fall and Halloween decorations and they already had Christmas stuff out! We bought a Santa ornament. At Dollar Tree we bought a Halloween decoration and a Thanksgiving one. They already had Christmas stuff out too. I saw some nice things at Hobby Lobby but didn't buy anything.

Is it just me or has Hobby Lobby gone way up on the prices of their Christmas trees? I bought a tree from them nearly 10 years ago and it's still in great shape! I know they run sales all the time but it always seemed that the price of their trees at full price were still good. They seemed really high now.

After looking at all the holiday goodies we went out to dinner. I wanted to come home and put up the Christmas Tree! =)

I love Cracker Barrel!! Wish we had a Cracker Barrel near us! I noticed that too, with Hobby Lobby- it seems all of their prices have gone up. They do have the cutest things, though! I love that I can find my lodge decor there. It seems that Hobby Lobby & Bass Pro Shops are the only two places I can find anything like that here in the desert.

So glad you jumped in, drexelius! I love your Friday night Christmas movie traditions! What ones have your family watched so far this season?

Hey friends! Hope this finds all doing well! Sitting on the deck feeling the nice breeze blow as we are at 67 degrees! Lovely!

Got a sick dog....waiting for the vet to open so we can get him in. Don't know what's wrong...yesterday, he was fine....last night, he had the shakes and today he is very uncomfortable. I'm sure everything will be ok. He's a big ol' tough one.

I hope your dog is ok. I will be thinking of him & saying prayers!

See everybody later...about to watch some NFL football coverage and cook supper....

What is it that they say? You'll get worse before you get better? Well, if that's true, hopefully that means you're on the road to recovery!! Feel better soon!!! Enjoy Gameday!

Good Morning, Christmas Friends! :sparkle:

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday so far!! It's gameday, so I'll be watching my Pack, and Adrian, my husband will be watching Da Bears. There will be some razzing involved, I'm sure!

It's supposed to reach the mid 90's again today, wish I didn't have to run the AC. I would love to open the windows & let in some fresh air.

Harlowe, our pup, had another episode last night. She's almost done with her steroid meds & liver support, so I'm hoping that it was just a bad stomach upset/side effect. Please say some prayers for her. We will take her to the vet again in a couple of weeks after the meds are out of her system to do a liver function test. Fingers are crossed.

Time to turn on some Christmas music & get a few things done around the house before football starts!

Hope you all have a beautiful day!

Stacey

Here is last year's Christmas Blossoms thread:

http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21288

Crown will start a new thread for this year sometime this month.

Brad thanks for this link !! I wanted to look at last year's Christmas blossoms and was too lazy to find it myself !

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! We are headed back up to 80 degrees today here in central Indy. My plan for today was to get up early and head to the apple orchard for some cider. I just saw on facebook that they have run out though. So I guess I have to wait a couple more days. So now I am off to the early church service and then it will be time for some football and racing. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice relaxing and Christmassy Sunday, Made xo

Welcome to MMC and life out of the so-called Christmas closet! :D I love that you guys all sit down and watch Christmas movies! The only movie-related tradition that I've kept since I was a kid is watching Christmas Vacation after eating Thanksgiving dinner (and before the 8pm football game, lol). I'll probably keep that going the rest of my life! <3

Harlowe is in my prayers xo

I just got home from church and getting ready for work. Very good sermon, as always.

I just called my boss and he was unloading corn stalks! Yay, fall decorations are in and next will be pumpkins!
