lauriebear - I would love that recipe w/ the cake/apples/apple butter. Sounds delish! I just bought some baking apples & I'm making spicy cabbage soup for the neighbors at the lake Friday night! AND I have a new convection oven I haven't even tried out yet! Apple cake for dessert? Mmmm

Is it Friday, yet? It's been quite a week so far. Work has been stressful. Hopefully next week will be better!

Looking forward to a long weekend with my sister!

It's hot here...still...100 degrees this afternoon. Possible cool down this weekend if storms come. My fingers are crossed! I'm ready!

My pup, Harlowe, has been ill again for the past few days, and I'm concerned. I've put a call into her vet, her appointment is still a few weeks out. Waiting to hear back from her on how to proceed, where we go from here. Please say prayers and send good thoughts!

I took my grandson to his first Cub Scout meeting and he had a blast!

Glad he had a great time! I was in girl scouts until I was in junior high and really did enjoy it. I know he will truly love it!

Well Folks, the trip is off.
We were just leaving Raleigh when a loud, high-pitched whine was heard coming from the front of the van.
We returned home and I took the vehicle into the shop. New front bearings and brakes are needed and are being installed.

Will try again same time next week.

So Sorry you weren't able to make your trip, Crown. I am glad that you weren't out too far and something could have happened or you could have lost of your brakes causing an accident. It was a blessing that you caught it when you did. At least you have the trip to look foward to next week and you're keeping your spirits up!

Sidney is doing very well, he followed the boys around all night, he loves those boys.

I have to pull out this recipe I use it on, it is a plain vanilla cake really with chucks of apples and I make two 8" round pans of it spread the Apple Butter between the two and make a cream cheese / apple butter frosting, I just add apple butter to my cream cheese frosting. It is a big hit!

We're going out to my mom's for supper tonight. She's cooking my favorite german dish, rouladen. It's the BEST! She does the whole german meal with red cabbage and potato balls.

So sorry to hear about Harlowe. I will keep you and her in my prayers. This past week my husband actually found a mass on my 5 year-old golden retriever, Ella. We have an appointment with the vet next week. I am hoping it's just a fatty deposit, but it's pretty big. I know goldens are known for cancer - it makes me sad because she's sooo young. I am trying to keep my head up and tell myself until I know something to not get upset yet.

Good afternoon, MMC! Happy Pines Day! Hope this finds everyone well! Today is my day "off" I worked nights last night, so I got home this am at about 8:15 am and slept 4 hours or so and I work daylight tomorrow. What a day off! Oh well...I don't do that all the time, thank goodness!

As I just posted in my mega post, as other people have been posting about their fur friends lately, my 5 year-old golden retriever Ella is healthy that we know of (thank goodness). However, my husband was petting her the other day and found a huge mass on her (it's located right below her rib cage). It's pretty big, so we're not sure what to think. She has an appointment with the vet this coming week. I don't want to freak out yet, but it's just scary. She's young and I just hope it's a fatty deposit or something along that line. If you guys could say a prayer for her, I would appreciate it. As you guys who have fur friends, you all know too well, their your buddies and she was our first "baby". Thanks guys! I appreciate it.

She had the most horrible screaming attack due to a terrible headache...now I dont know if it is a migraine...or if she was just overly tired...it was just heartbreaking to see her in pain......I cried after she fell asleep, too......so prayers would be highly appreciated

Hi lol never thought of that .i think i have something about s,s i have a african grey parrot called shadow. a eclectus parrot called shaffire. and used to have a stunter of a dog called sandy ( hes dead now 7 years near broke my heart) sugar and spice good names lol

HI am not telling you what to do. but have you ever thought of saying to the doctor as its really not natural for a child to be taking headache at that age. wood do no harm in getting it checked out

I just wrote that above that I will making a date with the doctor tomorrow to let him know about this....it has happened twice.....today and a few months ago...so of course I will take her to the docs......at least for now she is sleeping beautifully
