Christmas Countdown - 2011

Good morning! I have a busy day ahead. going to finally put up halloween/fall decor up in the house and the yard. On my street almost everyone gets into the halloween decor which makes it feel so warm and nice! I think I am going to cook a ham/turkey dinner soon if this cool weather holds up. I remember this time last year I was single but happy but also lonely and I decided to cook a thanksgiving dinner for my friends and I did not know you had to thaw turkey out in the fridge...I thought you could just stick it out on the counter...luckily I checked online quickly and found out that was a no no!!! well have a great sunday Everyone!

we've had a crazy indian summer over the last week in the U.K, the beginning of september was cool temps and then suddenly over the last week the temps have shot up! here in the north west of england it's starting to cool down again and it really feels like autumn (thank goodness!)

in one month and 4 days starbucks and costa coffee will be launching their christmas flavoured coffees and i cannot wait.

today my daughter and i are staying in, going to put coraline on and bake some cakes, i love autumn days like this!

Wish and I are settled down in bed with a brand new heated throw on us with the candles lit and the whole room smells of Cookies !!!

It may not sound like much but as I see it....This is a little piece of Heaven.

Sounds very warm and cozy! With the candles all lit I bet it sure smells good and is beautiful!

Wonderful day today !!

Bought some more Yankee candles yesterday....not the big ones, just some votives. One of my favorite Seasonal scent is Christmas Cookie !!! But I also really love the scent Christmas Eve

I have to agree with you there. real heaven its one of them times that gives you a nice warm feeling inside. (only thing missing is the christmas lit up) just to make it prefect

Good morning pals! I think Jude and I are going to bake a pumpkin pie today! I think he's the only 3 year old who LOVES Martha Stewart (he loves to cook!) and we watched an old episode about pie the other day.. he has asked me the past few days if we could bake a pie so we will today! It's so nice and cool today... highs in the 50s. Perfect fall weather - chili for dinner! Mmmm.

Am gonna do a clean up today my bedroom looks like a bomb hit it. o boy that will take me a while.

I went back and re read my journal from last year,and this is why I am so glad I document stuff like this... last year was an excellent Autumn. Our leaves began changing around the 20th of october,and they were peaking the 2nd week in November. Some late changing trees like my bradford pears where changing the first week of december...I wonder how this year will shape up,I have lost a few trees from the drought I just hope its not for good. But I am having fun looking back over last years goings on. I need to get busy and start decorating...I have a neighbour who is very religous and will think it is the worst thing I am skipping church to decorate the yard for halloween!!! have a great day all!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!! We had a pretty good frost here last night in central Indy and they say it could happen again tonight. The cool weather is going to move out pretty quick though and we are going to be up in the 80's by wednesday. I'm not going to do much today. I plan on heading out to church and then it will be home to watch football and Nascar. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

The sun is shining and it looks gorgeous out! I have a kitten having a blast running amok in the house. I also have an older cat looking like her world is over. Even after two weeks they cannot be together. I do believe it will be a long week with those two! I'm going to listen to MCR as I clean the house and get ready for work.

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a busy day yesterday, working at Bernie's Store and doing some of my side business stuff. But I got through it! Bernie is back to normal, and Mrs. Hilda is getting better, too. We're going there for dinner today, since my mom left for Myrtle Beach, SC for the week.

She just got back from Hawaii, Now she's in SC, and next week she leaves for a month in Maggie Valley, NC. She really has gotten the travel bug since she retired. I told her just to let me know when she crosses state lines so I'll know where she is!

It's homecoming at church today, so our regular 9:30 service is at 11:00. I just put on a pot of coffee and I think I'll sit on the front porch with a cup since it's so cool outside. It's in the 40's!!!! I love it!

I love Martha Stewart too! How cool that a 3 year old likes her.

Martha reminds me of my grandma who passed away 8 years ago this month. Her and I had a "love/hate" thing for Martha. We loved what she did but hated her because we were jealous we couldn't be just like her! Ha ha!

An older female cat seems to always be annoyed by the little ones. I seen it happen so many times. I have had lots of cats growing up. Older male cats don't seem to mind the young ones as much. Male cats act like kittens all their life! (is this true with the human race too)? Just kidding guys!

Poor Wayne had another rough night. No throwing up but his stomach was bothering him real bad and he had heartburn. I stayed up with him a lot last night trying to take care of him. He told me he would be ok that I needed my sleep but I just can't do that if he is uncomfortable and hurting! I guess it's the "mommy" syndrome taking over. :wink:

We will not be going to church today and I am going to make him some homemade chicken and rice soup before I go to work. Hopefully that will settle his stomach.

I won't miss the Cowboys game today because we always have it on at work. I hope they win again!
