Really getting in the holiday spirit lately! Three weeks from today and Sounds of the Seasons switches to its all-Christmas format! The Christmas season runs from Nov. 1 through Jan. 6 if you ask me!

I work at CVS, and so far, we just have the toys set and the little jewelry boxes. We also have the snowmen on a ladder displayed on top of our drink coolers. All our Christmas decor must be set by 11/1.

My boss has even out up the request your shift sheet for thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day and New Years

You are not silly or stupid, it is just making you think of the end. I understand the apprehensiveness, it is normal to be when someone makes predictions like that, if it is true, it truly would be because it was God's decision, not because this possible nutcase makes a prediction which he has made a number of times previously and we are still here. I learned after 9/11 to enjoy life and the time you have left and not worry about the things you cannot control.

If it does happen to be the end of the world, we may finally all meet.

Glad to hear Harlowe was starting to feel a little bit better last evening. I would def. keep her on the probiotics for a little while. They say it really helps. My son is on those drops everyday as well. He is on them to help sooth his belly because of his colic and he also has acid reflux. I have seen a major difference in him.

As for your village, I love your idea of putting up tables and doing it that way. My MIL has huge village as well and does that - she gets the fake looking snow, puts that over the tables, and then puts the villages on. She has so much - it's amazing. You will have to post pics of all this. I would LOVE to see it.

That is wonderful, sugar. So glad to hear they are helping your son! Poor little guy.
Thanks for your input about my village! I hate having to break it up all over the house like that, but it's really my only option. My village has grown, but my house hasn't! Do you think my husband would buy me a new & bigger house for this reason?!?! Just kidding. Kind of :wink:
Your MIL's village sounds beautiful. Last year, I actually used a white sheet for the first layer of snow, and cut slits in it to feed the cords through. Then, sprinkled some of the artificial glittery snow to give it an extra vintage look. It was so neat! I can't wait to put it out again!! It'll be hard to pick which pieces, though. Like I said, I don't have enough room for it all! lol

I hope Harlowe continues to eat and play - will keep praying for her - she is such a sweetie!

Just sitting here watching DWTS with the wife, while the alluring scent of skunk is wafting through the open window, I can't wait until that stinky animal is hibernating. It is bad PU! Cold air where are you? I was very, very busy at work today, I had quite a few projects to do, but my team and I finished them all. I have a day off tomorrow, I am contemplating running to Kmart again to see if any Christmas stuff has made it out yet. I have plenty of other things to do around the house also.

Not stupid at all. It is very unsettling...
We just never know what tomorrow will bring. That's why I try to make the most of every day, and always tell my family & friends how much they mean to me!

I think it's natural to be alarmed about something like this, even if you don't really believe it. There is probably some sort of crowd psychology that starts working when this sort of prediction is made. Personally, I don't see this particular prediction coming true. But if it does, at least I won't have to pay any taxes next year. :wink:

I hope I did not come across as sounding bossy, but I just wanted to convey the thought that I have no more right to being a special poster than anyone else. I love reading the posts and am always amazed at how we write our special posts from different parts of the world and at different times and they blend so beautifully. It is just amazing and Christmassy magical!

But I agree, Crown. With such a large number of people coming, maybe we could have a day 6 and let all those who would like to have a special post speak.....or maybe we can see who all wants to have one....and have 10 days...or maybe let them post on the 13th when the season is here (so that we technically aren't messing with the special posts because of tradition)...I dunno...but I like your thought. I would love to have one, but I certainly want to see those who have been here before me get their turn. I feel that Binger, Jayish, Johnor, Auntie, Christmasstar, Brad, and you have more of a right for a special post than I because you have been here. Coming up with a way for everyone who wants to would really be neat....just my thoughts....

But I'm gonna be here either way! Won't hurt me if I don't get too....

I would be more then willing to collaborate with someone, I did request day 3 and I never thought about it the way you did... I so hope I didn't offend anyone or "take" away a special day if so I would be more then willing to give it back...

I appreciate your thoughts, BUT, this is OUR forum and not just the forum of a few; so there is a place for us all. I do love doing the countdown special post, but I will step aside for anyone who would like to give it a try. It is a fun and nostalgic look back at the way we were and a look forward to what might be!!! And we all have precious thoughts to share! Even Carl! Besides, I could post it as a blog and free up space in the special posts.

I am ready to start decorating for Christmas. Hubby says I have to wait for a few more weeks, though. LOL! I saw some very cute decorations that I plan on buying. I am so excited.

Thanks Merry!! I don' really believe it either. As a person who follows (TRIES) to follow Christ I know He himself said......."No man will know the day or the hour......." I believe Him over a person who isn't even a minister ! But that said.....still frightening but not so much as long as I have you and all my Christmas family ((HUGS))

NO! not silly at all, but I would not give too much thought to a prediction made by someone that has a record of being wrong on predictions as much as Harold Camping. And as you pointed out already Jesus said himself that "No man shall know the day or hour...." I'm having one of those days where I just can't seem to get myself motivated to get any work done, 4 cups of coffee and several hours later I have yet to make much of a dent in the stack of work sitting in front of me lol, I would much rather be working on Christmas stuff, my mind keeps drifting off to all things Christmas.

It seems that there are a lot of October birthdays; mine is this coming Monday. I'll be hitting 50, so we'll be going out to dinner. Gee, maybe at that age I should be eating dessert first.

I hit the jackpot. Right now, the neighborhood is doing a council clean up and I found a bag full of mint condition Christmas decorations. I am so happy that I found them. All new and fresh.

Do any of you guys have dogs that fall out???? my 2 boxers is not speaking, usually they are very close but yesterday they will not lay together and scooby is trying to fight with sasha. And sasha does not need it as she was from a dog home and was really badly treated. and hurt ( broken leg . she walks with the leg stuck out and its a bit shorter that the other one) and that they were gonna put her down. but i won then over and got her . think the only reason i got her was they knew me from working in the vets at that time. dont no whats going on with when. they are ok to a point . am sure they will come round

Any gonna go now and get a cuppa.

I would like a cuppa as well please, but no milk, and just a bit of honey.

My two cats do that, not litter mates but both brought home at they are a few months apart in age. My vet even did the intro... And, you can see my photos, they sleep together, the groom each other, and play together, but every so often Bella, will get very angry with Callie, she even will hiss & "spit" as I call it at her - sometimes it takes days and other times just a few hours and then it is like they are best buddies again, I use to try to stop it, my vet said the best thing to do it leave them be, unless it gets to where they fight then put the agresser (sp) into another room for a while.

Good morning fellow Christmasites! (if I can use that kind of technical terminology at this time!) - In a top notch mood at the moment. Last night at work I got asked to go on follow spots (I work in a theatre, with a background in video/film production and theatre) and normally work as a steward, but last night I got to go on the technical team and man one of the spotlights (I even did the first pickup of the show!)

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! Well I'm going to be a bad boy and skip church this morning. I'm going to head back out to the fair instead. I need one last helping of fair food before the year is over. Then it will be back home to watch some football and racing. Today is going to be a good test for the Colts. They are playing the Chiefs and if they can't beat them I have no hope for the rest of the season. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
