You know our 2 1/2 week vacation was really nice but (now to get all mushy with you all) I really missed all of you and it's so good to be back!

Our visit to Santa Claus, Indiana made me think of all of you here at MMC.

Usually I am bummed out after a vacation and coming home but this time I have Thanksgiving and Christmas to look forward to. Exciting times!!! It's also good to be back to MMC forums!

I am glad you are not bummed out! I am planning a vacation up north in January or Feb....so I have that to look forward to after Christmas when I usually get really bummed out! We really missed you here when you were gone, and are so glad you are back now!

Good morning, everyone!

Can you believe it?! Single digits to the Christmas Season tomorrow. Wow! In the excitement of witnessing numerous Christmas commercials yesterday on television, I asked Kim when I could put the Christmas lights and Christmas tree up for the Season. She seemed less excited than usual, but I am sure that will change quite soon. We agreed upon November 13th - the start of the Christmas Season! Honestly, that is all I was pushing for anyway!

Kim and I searched for a winter coat last night. She did not see anything that she liked. I guess that means a trip to another mall on the weekend. Unfortunately, my Blackberry was dead for the trip, however, there were not many new Christmas decorations to photograph anyway... I'm sure that will change after this week (or Remembrance Day... Veterans' Day for the US, next week).

In regards to weather, it is absolutely beautiful in Ottawa. I awoke to a temperature of 9C (48F). It is September, isn't it?! Temperatures should return to seasonal after some afternoon rain today. The forecast, however, is calling for more double digit temperatures on Sunday and into the next mid-week. Then, it should be downhill as we head toward the Christmas Season (and winter)!

I guess I should get some work done for a bit. Have a wonderful day, everyone! It's Thursday! One more day and we'll be heading into the weekend!

Good morning, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone well! Prayers for all who are recovering or out of touch and of course, for the fur kids!!!

I finally caught up on the Countdown, but alas, without my coffee. Palmer is sleeping on my foot and I didn't want to disturb her and my coffee is just out of reach. I have Michael Buble's CD on and am getting ready to clean the kitchen. Working later this afternoon - so I have to get going!

Have a most MERRY day!!!!!!!!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's been really, really hectic around here this week, and it doesn't show any sign of easing off until next week. Come on, Next Week! Just before we left for our weekend vacation to the mountains, I got three calls for work for my side business. I put them all off until this week, and now I have to make good on my promises. On top of that, the other two guys in my department at my day-job have been gone for the week to meetings at the corporate office in Birmingham. When that happens, I have to take all of my regular calls, PLUS all of the their calls are transferred to me. Whew! All I do is talk on the phone!

Anyway, if I can get past this weekend, things should smooth out again. here's hoping, anyway.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning... my attempts to catch up are failing... I am getting further and further behind... But, I still wish you all good things and hope each and everyone is happy and healthy!!!

Work and home has been crazy (all good crazy!!!). The play is coming along nicely, we had a bake sale that was canceled last Saturday due to the weather and we will do it this weekend. The children are all excited as they each are going to get a chance to be in the spot light!!!

I am SUPER happy to report that the house down the book from me, like clockwork has their Christmas Lights up outside and ON!!! I love driving past it :) I on the other hand still have my Halloween lights up, I have been going none stop and have not been able to take them down, I will on Saturday though.

Well, I have A LOT of reading to do!!! Catch up time!!! Be well all...

Good luck on searching for the right coat. I actually HATE shopping for a new coat because I try to find a nice basic one to go with everything and doesn't cost a lot, which is hard to find. I also want it to last for a few years. I bought one last year which should hold me over for awhile.

I love hearing about your fur children! My fur children are such a delight and brighten up my day!

Wish all of you a great start into the Day!

My work day is almost over! Here it is 4 p.m. and I have to work for an hour an a half before I can go home! Only one day to go until weekend.

I sit here in my office and all I wanna do is reading my new book. Silly me, I knew it was a mistake to order 19 books all at once.

I brought my lunch today but ended up eating taco bell and ate way too much..now I feel blah...well just 3 more hours and I'll be done for the day! hope everyone is having a good day!

ooohhh. Taco Bell doesn't like me. lol

Same here! back in my 20's I loved eating there, now not so much, but I get an urge every know and then..around here we call it 'toxic hell' I always just get the crunchy taco's without lettuce because thier lettuce is never fresh...but I add hot sauce to it!

It is tough, especially for Kim. I bought a new coat last year. It was about $280 after taxes. Expensive, but it is incredibly warm and should last me for at least three or four years.

Good evening!

I hope everyone is well and safe!

Long day today, I'm so glad it is almost over! I thought I adopted a kitten, but turns out it was Houdini in disguise. Wow - she is quite the mischief maker! I was gone all day and Palmer was safely behind her gate, slumbering in her bed when I left. She not only got out/over the baby gate, but she lost the DVD player remote and knocked over quite a few things, too. Knocking over things was expected, but I haven't a clue what she was doing with the remote or how she got it in the first place. It took two people over a half hour to find the darn thing

Aww!! She is just too cute, Meceka! And quite the comedian, apparently!!!

So. Get this. This will make you laugh.

November 1st I put the tree up. Just put it together with nothing on it yet. We are decorating it this weekend with family. Well. I plugged the tree in. Didn't light up. I was sure it was a pre-lit and so was my Wife. Well I'm running around on the main floor trying to plug it in to get it to light up. I called the store. Said its not lighting up. They said a bulb is burnt. I said dont they have the one goes out the rest stay lit lights? He said yes and said there is nothing that can be done being its out of warranty. Yeah...so....I checked the tree....not pre-lit...heh. Whoopsee! Happy Holidays! haha

Hahaha! Love it, Undrtakr!

Back at ya, LB!

Glad everything is going well w/ the play! Good luck with the bake sale, hope it's very successful & the kids have fun!

I'm right there with ya, I'm taking down my Halloween on Saturday. Then, cleaning & putting out winter stuff like garlands & snowmen, etc. Then, in a few weeks, all of my Christmas! Can't wait!

:snowball:

Oh yes. I loved eating it too. Had a friend that worked there. It was also called toxic hell. lol

Thanks again to anyone who gave me access to the myths of Carl and the Pines. It is great to not be left with no clue......

Glad you're now in the know, Cetacea.

But we try to be careful with words like "myth" and "imaginary".
Carl feels understandably threatened by them just like Santa does.

Good Morning, all!

It's a crazy day at work, but just wanted to check in & say hi before my break was up.

Hope you're all well

Have a jolly day!!

This is one of my favorite times of the day. Half the day is over AND it's lunch time! You can't beat that! ;-)

Wow that is neat and something I never really thought about either...come to think of it the last few days here I am feelin pretty stupid..now if I only knew what a "vernal equinox" was I could understand completly but I guess I had it wrong thinking it had to do with Hebrew calandar..

Vernal equinox = First day of spring

I could not get back here quick enough!! I had to go get my rental car which btw is a tiny little car that my knees are up under the dash...I honestly could sit in the backseat and drive it better but anyway I had the radio on because it does not have xm like my accord does and the station I like the most 97.3 in albany ga that usually plays grunge from the 90's and popular songs from that era has gone all Christmas!! I thought maybe it was just one song, but no it's all gone Christmas now. The other major top 40 pop station 95.7 in Valdosta where I live usually goes all Christmas december 1st which I think is too late. I have to admit listening to Carols when it is 77F outside is wierd,I have to accept this year is just going to be warmer for us down south than it has been in a long time. I got back to work and everyone is asking why I am so happy...wierd isn't it.:)
