I can recal lwhen christmas.com would **** down from February till August,,, we would be orphaned,,,
Ah, yes! I remember it well!
Gracie was there at Christmas.com.. and Jayish.. and Cedar.. anyone else from the old days?
It was weird and then one day Christams.com just shut down you couldnt get on it- we were in such a panic
Hard to remember those dark days back in BC.C!
And then we found The Christmas Place for a short while.
(It was very green there, as I recall.)
Christmas.com would come back in August- we were orphans for about 6 months
I can't imagine what it would be like if we shut down....I would be lost...
We are in far better hands than we ever have been here at MMC. Plus there are a lot of us connected elsewhere now that we would be quicker hooking back up if something happened.
Still there are a few people from the former homes that disappeared. I wonder about them to this day. DennieP comes to mind. And does anyone else remember mystways and his model train "home for Christmas" web cam? That was cool!
I usually post a Christmas.com anniversary piece on November 15. I'll just let this post stand this year.
There was a countdown started for the 2002 Season by a member named wishman35. Our own sgrover started a countdown for 2003. Savingstar (more active at ChristmasTalk) started the 2004 countdown.
In 2005 savingstar started another countdown as did Crown 84 shortly thereafter. Of the two Crown’s survived to the end of the year. This is the format we follow today!
So, Happy Tenth to Thirteenth (depends) Anniversary two days early (earliest archive found is November 15, 2001) to you old Christmas.com'ers. Enjoy your look back on the two links above from Member #1843 (and still an EIB!).
