I can recal lwhen christmas.com would **** down from February till August,,, we would be orphaned,,,

Ah, yes! I remember it well!

Gracie was there at Christmas.com.. and Jayish.. and Cedar.. anyone else from the old days?

It was weird and then one day Christams.com just shut down you couldnt get on it- we were in such a panic

Hard to remember those dark days back in BC.C!

And then we found The Christmas Place for a short while.
(It was very green there, as I recall.)

Christmas.com would come back in August- we were orphans for about 6 months
I can't imagine what it would be like if we shut down....I would be lost...

We are in far better hands than we ever have been here at MMC. Plus there are a lot of us connected elsewhere now that we would be quicker hooking back up if something happened.

Still there are a few people from the former homes that disappeared. I wonder about them to this day. DennieP comes to mind. And does anyone else remember mystways and his model train "home for Christmas" web cam? That was cool!

I usually post a Christmas.com anniversary piece on November 15. I'll just let this post stand this year.

There was a countdown started for the 2002 Season by a member named wishman35. Our own sgrover started a countdown for 2003. Savingstar (more active at ChristmasTalk) started the 2004 countdown.

In 2005 savingstar started another countdown as did Crown 84 shortly thereafter. Of the two Crown’s survived to the end of the year. This is the format we follow today!

So, Happy Tenth to Thirteenth (depends) Anniversary two days early (earliest archive found is November 15, 2001) to you old Christmas.com'ers. Enjoy your look back on the two links above from Member #1843 (and still an EIB!).

I want to see that! I don't think a photo would do it justice can you take a video of your tree? I would love to see all the lights in motion!

I will try to, I am not to tech savvy, but I do have one of those Flip camaras I have never used

coach is!

Sorry Brent, I went to sleep as soon as I posted the last time....

A special message from the heart:

As we coast on into Christmas Season 2011, let me express my continuing gratitude for the loyalty and support of our fine members.

Of all the board forums I have ever visited, I have never seen one with the level friendliness and comraderie to the extent I have experienced here.
I can only assume it is because of the subject matter. Christmas just naturally draws out the best in people and draws in the best people.
This site in general and this thread in particular has proven that time and time again, year after year. (And each year more than the one before it!)

You hear more and more talk these days about how society is deteriorating and getting less and less civil.
Well, to those disheartened folks I point to this site where just the opposite is happening!
If you think about it, you'll realize just how lucky we all are to have found this little cyber home and to be a part of it.

Enjoy the next 50 days to the hilt, my friends.
You -- each and every one of you -- deserve it!

This looks like fun!

Good morning, friends! Man, was that ever fun last night. That was so much fun. Y'all make sure you are here on the 23rd of Dec. for kinda the same thing. It's not a long, but just as crazy!

Busy day ahead. Going to pick up the house and finish all the decorations. Hope you have a great day!

Good Morning everyone! I saw my first house decorated for Christmas last night--then the second about 5 minutes later. Whoo hoo, getting closer! I'm getting our menu for Thanksgiving together, Christmas shopping for the daughter and granddaughters that live in another state (and her husband, I guess), and picking up a few ornaments for us. So many fun things to do! The city where I work has a big holiday parade every year--I'll be taking the granddaughter that lives close to that. It's so much fun to take kids to parades! Well, I need to get ready for church--have a lovely day, everyone!

Good morning! looks like I missed out on alot of fun last night. my plane was late so I did not get home until after midnight. I will be here on Christmas eve though. that is for sure! I slept until 10 this morning and it is a nice day here..sunny and mild! back to work tomorrow for one week then it's back to Oregon for thanksigiving. Hope everyone has a great first day of the 2011 holiday season!

Sunday morning ... beautiful weather, and Mr. is madly burning a few dozen copies of this year's DVD of Christmas clips, another milestone on the way to Christmas. I wasn't awake for the countdown to the season last night, but I celebrated yesterday with my two-hour browse through the Christmas center. I think today will be more work on the podcast segment, lunch out, and then, who knows. I'll be ready to sit down and relax a little before Monday gets here again.

There's going to be a lot of shocked people in the morning.

It took quite a while to get through the whole seasonal countdown---you wonderful, crazy people!

What is "FB"?

Facebook---the ubiquitous Facebook ...

Welcome to Christmas Season 2001, Everyone!!!!

Oops, a ten-year typo there, Crown, but during the Christmas season spelling doesn't count.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!!! Wow what a night we had last night. Talk about fun. Now I have to calm down and get some stuff done around my apartment. My plan for today is to clean up the mess I've made the last couple of days and then I am going to kick back and watch what will most likely be a terrible football game. The Colts versus Jacksonville. Well I'm off to clean. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

you can say that again!! I don't think I can even watch..

Wow if only we could go back to Christmas season 2001! I would still be 26! I remember every single christmas by year like I'm sure you all do. Christmas 2001 and especially 2002 were the best in my adult life. 2001 was snowy and cold where I lived at the time. My folks came to visit me it was perfect... it was right after 9/11 and people just seemed to be extra grateful to be alive that year. I don't know what brought about this trip down memory lane I guess seeing the above post made me think of 2001! how time flies it just makes you more grateful to live in the every moment....just think if the the next 10 years flies by like the last.....gulp...

Merry Christmas Season, Christmas family. It is quite chilly here in northern California. Darlene Love has made her first appearance on KLOU this a.m. I connected up to this station through RJD who started the thread about stations already playing Christmas music. Now with most, if not all, stations streaming, it is easy to find lots of Christmas music early. Then I have Live365 on my computer, too, so I can listen to Christmas music year round. Last night was a blast. It was hard keeping up, but I read every post in real time (maybe a few minutes behind). I hope everyone has a great day. Hubby and I are headed down to the Elks Lodge for a Poor Man's Brunch put on for the hunters. Then I will come back home and do some schoo work. I have parent conferences this coming week. Then we will be off a week for Thanksgiving Vacation. Talk to y'all later. I will be here off and on all day.

RJD, Is that an Alfred E. Newman decoration you have on your avatar?
You are the first to notice, Seawaters! I've been waiting as I do with other parts of my profile!

Now, off to find something else!

Hey all

Glad last night was a superduper success - next one.........DARLENE LOVE!!!

I'm an incubus of viral plague right now. I'm now on vacation for a week and have landed with b*tch cold from he ll :-( I've got the works and then some and am feeling particularly sorry for myself.

Just wanted to say hi, yay for the season, and will now go fester under a quilt. I even turned off my Christmas movies; that is the extent of my yuck-ness!!!

:o

Wonderful message, Crown. Thank you for leading the countdown each and every day (including those in which you had a substitute leader). Aside from the love of Christmas and the loving nature of many individuals, I believe that it is your kindness and generosity that influences all of us dedicated posters as well.

The next fifty days will be monumentous. I am excited at what lies ahead and cannot wait to wake up with you all every day to see the count!

We truly are lucky to have this little cyber home where we are all treated and welcome so well.

That is fine coach. I missed all the fun! Glad everyone else enjoyed it though. It looked like lots of fun!

I am right there with you, Mo, on the yuck ness! I have been popping Dayquil and Nyquil for a day and still feel like you know what!
