Christmas Countdown - 2011

First and foremost, hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting the past couple of days. I have been really busy. Friday I went Black Friday shopping...yes...I went and out and braved the crowds. Believe it or not, it wasn't that bad. I went to the mall and that got what I wanted to get. I think if I would have went to places like Kohl's of Walmart, then it would have been a different story. I wasn't even out 2 hours! I did well! Then that evening, we had to go to a birthday party for a 5 year old girl of a friend that is our neighbor and works with my DH.
Yesterday, we spent all day cleaning the house and decorating for Christmas. However, we didn't get a few things done that I wanted to, but we are going to tonight, but plans have now changed as well...we didn't get the tree up, didn't get the nativity scene done, are small Christmas village that is firefighter themed, or put up my winter/Chrtistmas snow globes. My DH calls me from work this am and told me he got called for overtimes this evening, so now he has to work 36 hours straight since he works tomorrow as well. Hopefully they aren't too busy.
I work tonight too, so my MIL is coming to watch the kids, then take them to daycare in the morning. I plan on trying to get caught up on some of the posts between trying to spend time with the kids, watching Christmas movies, and doing some wash. Hope you all have a great day and are all doing well! I've missed you all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. Oh...and I can't believe it's under a month till Christmas!!!!

I've seen it and I agree. I can't believe he would act that way in front of a camera. I was even more astonished that most of the reporters said he acted like that all the time so it didn't surprise them at all. I really think Jimmy Spencer needs to go knock some sense into him again.
Good Morning All! It's the first Sunday of Advent! Our parish has the custom of decorating our home advent wreaths at coffee hour after church the first Sunday in Advent, so I dug up my frame and I'm ready to go! After I get dressed, of course. The parish also puts up a giving tree for kids at a local homeless shelter, so we'll be choosing our ornament/kid today as well.
Oh, Christmas it is so close!
After church, I need to get my nails done, pick up gifts for my oldest daughter and her two girls, pick up something to wear to the funeral, and start packing. A little tight, but I lost a whole day yesterday with a stomach bug. On the bright side of that, I don't have to worry about gaining any weight from all I ate at Thanksgiving! And my husband got to celebrate his favorite Thanksgiving tradition--going to the San Francisco Auto Show--without worrying about whether I was getting tired or bored. He sounded like he had a lovely time. He was showing me all the pictures he took, and telling me about his test drive in the Leaf.
Well, now to get ready for church. Have a happy Sunday, everyone!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! It is a rainy day here in central Indy but at least it's still kind of warm out. I'm also being a bad boy and skipping church but I was just exhausted and slept in until almost 10. My plan for today is to get the cleaning done that I was going to do yesterday. I'm also going to watch the Colts play the Panthers this afternoon. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Made if I had a buck for every day it's rainy in Central Indy I would be a rich man...I must admit I get a bit jealous every day I read that....We never get rain here! Actually it's suppose to rain tomorrow...it was suppose to be cloudy here today but it's not...the sun is creeping out.

How you all doing good i hope
yesterday i started to get the outdoor decor out. i did not get every far , everytime i went it it was raining then it wood stop and blowing. i give up got a bit done
Today it was nicer not a lot of rain and i got a good bit done. think about another 3/4 hours should finished it..more harder during the week with the shop and stuff.
Have the tree in not decortated and have lots of other bits and peices to they are everywhere at the moment the house is a tip lol
I really am finding it hard to get sorted this year. dont no if its the weather or what. i got some new stuff for the garden and thought where they wood go but then some did not fit and had to be put somewhere else
Any way dinner is calling am raving with hunger so catch you alll later

I forgot my brother is coming weds!! I could not get off work because of my christmas vacation time,with all the hectic things happening I totally forgot he was flyin in,luckily he is renting a car in Atlanta and driving down...now I just hope to hope he does not plan on doing anything for my 37th BD..I hate BD anyway...when I was a kid i never wanted to get presents because it was embarassing to have to open everything if front of everyone..same goes for Christmas..I still try to escape during the time when we open gifts. Now I do want cake,but that's it! I guess I will watch hallmark all day,it looks like they have a pretty good line up for today!
back from church...which I did not skip today (even though I did consider it because my knee is so sore)
Now I have a gingerbread house to finish...I hope...still have a couple of days for that so will try and get as far as I can.
I also feel a cold sore starting...anyone know how to get it to go away quickly...will look terrible in the pictures if I win!

I haven't been around the last few days with Thanksgiving and all but also because I hate to admit I am not feeling terribly Christmassy right now and I don't want to bring anyone down. My spirits have just been very low the last couple of days....I don't know what is wrong....In fact, I have hardly felt like even turning on my tree......very odd for me..
I am getting ready to get on and work as this is my Monday.

@CM3....sorry you are not feeling well,don't worry about bringin us down...I have to admit this year is not like last year for sure,things are just so much different. I am trying to make the best of it,but I hope you start to feel better soon!

Congratulations, ballcoach, on being this month's MOM!
This morning I put up a lighted wreath on the side of the house, a wreath on the front door with a floodlight aimed at it, and some lighted candy canes in front of the hedge. I just don't have the knack---it all looks amatuerish and dorky to me, but maybe it'll look better when it's lit up. The candy canes don't extend the full length of the hedge. That may be part of the problem. I'll try to get some more this afternoon. Hope the store still has some after the post-Thanksgiving rush ...
I've scheduled Friday off. We were going to take a day trip with a friend of ours, but he has to work. So I'll probably put up the Christmas tree(s) instead. Hoping I can put up my feet and take in a couple Christmas movies, too!
Mr. feels the same way about birthdays, so he has an "unlisted birthday." Only his closest friends and I know the date.
Don't worry about that too much. It's not unusual to have a letdown after the excitement of Thanksgiving. Everyone has bad days throughout the year ... it's no sin to have bad days during the Christmas season. The spirit will hit you when you least expect it!

I feel the same way, CAH & Gabulldawg! It's mostly sunny here, so the few days it's not, I rejoice! Bring on the clouds, cold, and rain! Mountains have a bit of snow now. Must make a trip up there soon. We usually rent a cabin for the weekend, just to get a dose of the white stuff

Still dreary out, but I am making headway on my projects. What I don't like about dreary days is that the light is not bright enough in the house. We use energy efficient fluorescent bulbs and they just don't throw enough light for doing things such as cross stitch or even thread crochet. So on days like today, it takes me a lot longer to get rows done. Love the rain and the sound it makes on the roof, though cheesy
