Christmas Countdown - 2011

I found myself in a bad mood this morning, so I figured I'd stop by some Christmas sites to boost my spirits.
Tomorrow dd, her future mil and I are headed to Albany. The main purpose of the shopping trip is find flowers for the wedding. We will also go to Christmas Tree Shoppes while there. I also need to find something for my dgd. She will be 8 on the 11th, so I hope to get her gift while we are out and about.
I'm currently reading ON STRIKE FOR CHRISTMAS. I already read it in 2008, but I'm one who doesn't mind reading books more than once.

I WAS in a good mood until about 2 minutes ago when I renewed my driver's license. It ended up costing me $48!! :x

Hubby got the rest of the outdoor lights done, they looks great! I came home from work to my DH & the neighbor admiring them. (They helped each other with the roof lights) I called them honorary Griswolds & they got a kick out of it. Maybe my hubby finally found the true spirit of the season!

I bought a really cute Christmas Story mug last night @ Walgreens. The handle is the leg part of the lamp :lol:

sounds like you are right on track with Christmas preparations! I have the lights up outside and the tree up inside...not decorated yet, but it is up.

I love decorating the tree! My favorite part, makes me so nostalgic.

It's finally cold here! Yay! "Winter Storm Warning" going on. For Vegas, that means high of 50 today, windy, sleet, and gloomy :grin:
Chance of getting below freezing tonight. I, for one, am loving it.

Today will be a busy day, can't wait wait for 4:00 to come, for that means the weekend officially begins... TGIF!

My main plan for the weekend is to get caught up on Christmas shopping. I would love to watch some more Christmas movies, too. Sunday is the Packer game of course!!

It has been one long day. Work is so overwhelming right now. The beginning of the month is always tough, there's a lot of things I have to track and submit to our DOA (airport work), and we had a four hour meeting this morning about new laws & regulations, etc. I can barely keep up. Payroll came late, too. So behind & stressed.

I hope things slow down for you!

Good Weekend Eve Morning, my Fellow Christmas Anticipating Friends!

Another week nearly gone. Gee!
And what else is nearly gone?
This, of course:
Days to Christmas Day: 23
Wow! Two weels from the day after tomorrow! Time has sure flown by this year, hasn't it?

Colder yet this morning, where we began at 31 and have only risen to 36 so far.
At least it's beautifully sunny with no wind or rain prediction.

Can't wait for tomorrow.
Our annual Christmas Tree Trek!
First, it's off to the Farmers Market to see what they have.
(Sometimes we get our tree there)
Then, on to Logan's Trading Post to get our poinsettia, the tree (if we don't get one at the Farmer's Market) and to luch at the Seaboard Cafe. (Great sandwiches there!)
On back to the house then to decorate!

OK. You all have a Fabulous Friday, followed by a Fantastic First December Weekend, Folks.

Good Morning everyone... I am sooo NOT in the spirit... it could be because we have not finished decorating yet and everyone in our house hold has been suffering from colds for the past week. I missed a couple days of work and while I was home was really not in the mood to watch any Christmas movies. Really am hoping its just this cold that is causing the humbug in me right now.
Since everyone is starting to feel better we want to take the kids to a couple Christmas related events this weekend, a local christmas parade, some speciality shops and our town is having Christmas in the local park with Santa and lighting of the Christmas decorations in the park on Sunday night. .
I did manage to get out my Christmas cards last night so I am hoping to start on them tonight and get them in the mail by next week... Still cant get over how fast time is going by...

Tonight is my FIRST Christmas party of the season! Our Neighbors put on a very nice party. Christmas music is playing there at they have treats and snacks as far as the eye can see! Sorry, I'm drooling. heh. I brought in mini candy canes today to work for all my co-workers! Not much is new. I fell asleep on the couch again last night watching a movie. I paused it, just wanting to close my eyes for a few moments. I knew FULL WELL that I would fall asleep. And I did. Whoops! This weekend my Son William who is 2 will write a letter (Well I will lol) to Santa! This will be his first year writing to the big man in red. I want to make it as magical as I can for him! Well back to work I go! Have a Christmasy day! PS We had a light dusting of snow!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was cold here last night! I'm pretty sure it got below 30°, which is pretty doggone cold for the deep south! I even cranked up the gas logs for my daughter. She loves them.

Our office party is scheduled for Monday the 12th. We always have a nice party at a nice restaurant, and I look forward to them. This year, however, someone decided we needed to do something different. So now we're going to the local bowling alley/putt-putt/laser tag/arcade/chicken finger place...and the kids aren't even invited! Oh well.
