nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon....
nah, just with a bunch of Christmas fanatics!I must be in the Twilight Zone!!!
that is so cute, I have never seen those. Now I have to go out and see if I can find some!It has been cold and windy here in northern California. Yesterday and today, the winds were 20-30 mph. I went to a Christmas Faire but only stayed a few minutes. I bought two Santa keys, which are antique-looking keys on a red ribbon with small decorated tag that says, "Santa's Magic Key," and a decorated card that reads, "If a house has no chimney for Santa to come in or if the chimney's too small (since Santa's NOT thin!) there's nothing to worry about because Santa can see how to get inside if you leave him a key!"

nice, I am going to do that! In the townhouse I live in there are no fireplaces, so this would be a great surprise to drop in the mail boxes of the kids with a note from Santa! ThanksYou make them yourself. I bought mine from a scrapbooking friend and I will make some next year. You buy skeleton keys, tie a sheer red ribbon (or color of choice), make a small tag for the key and a rectangular tag to fit inside a white necklace box. I will try to take a picture and post it tomorrow.
what a nice story! Thank you for touching the heart of these people!Well, hello from New-Laptop-Land! At last I have a keyboard that works, and a touchpad that isn't possessed.
The chorus that I play piano for had their first Christmas concert today, and it was at one of the local nursing homes. We sang for about 40 minutes, which is usually all the longer we can keep attention at these facilities, and when we were done the residents wanted "MORE"! One little old gentleman came up and tugged on the back of my blouse while I was picking up my music, and told me how much he enjoyed the concert. However, he was disappointed that we had not sung his favorite carol. I asked him what it was, and he replied "O Holy Night". Well, being an organist, I could probably play "O Holy Night" in my sleep, so I sat back down and started to play it. The really nice thing was that the chorus members were still standing around, and they evidently heard this man talking to me, because they all started singing it. So we had an impromptu encore, and the little old gentleman went away very happy that his request had been honored. Now see, that's why I like playing the nursing homes and assisted living facilities better than the 'regular' concerts. They are so rewarding. These people expect so little, and it is so wonderful to be able to do something for them, even if it's just singing their favorite Christmas Carol. It made my day. Heck, it will probably make my whole week!
