Well you can tell the city is ready for the super bowl next weekend. There are cops everywhere and gas went up 50 cents a gallon today.
Isn't the whole Super Bowl experience in your town interesting? I know when it was here last year it filled up almost all our news time but I enjoyed the coverage of it. Some people complained to the news stations about it. It's just wild how your whole town transforms into a completely different place.
This little device we have called a DVR....it has a lot of Christmas movies on it...and someone missed Jan. Rudolph day and I think it should be celebrated tomorrow with coffee, friends, and Christmas movies! My wife has promised me her chocolate chip pancakes....anybody wanna come over?
I'm at your door now! Open up!!! =)
Was out last night with 5 mates and had a good night and wood feel great this morning if i wood come home and go to bed
But no we cant do that.
Glad you had fun!
Stealing a few moments here while my Hermione is napping.

Not a lot going on today (I hope !) I finished undecorating my tree but my husband is going to make a place for it in the spare room and we are going to leave it assembled. That way I can turn it on and even though it will not have ornaments it is still beautiful and I can still have my beloved tree !!

Raising a puppy after so many years is a challenge but one I welcome. Hermione sleeps on my chest each night. I don't know what I will do when she grows as she is part Bloodhound and part Golden Retriever so my chest is not going to get it in the future ! Housetraining is still a bit dodgy due to the fact that she is so young and I am out of practice at catching the "behaviors"....I am hoping we both catch on !! She will catch on sooner I think as she is much smarter than her mommy xo

I am still praying for everyone. I am letting everyone down by not joining in every day and I feel really bad.

CAH - How are you feeling ?? I hope okay xo

((((((HUGS)))))) To Snickers (and Lauriebear of course !), Ella, Harlowe, Gomez, Chico, Daisy, Hobbs, Scooby, Sasha, and all furkids everywhere.

Remember the animals - They need our help !! xo

I love you, Christmas family xoxo
So happy to hear your tree will be up all year! Great idea!

I know you will be a great mommy and patience patience patience on potty training. I know all will go well! That is funny about her sleeping on you! I am picturing this big dog still sleeping there each night!

Don't feel bad about not being on here all the time. Get here when you can!

Asking about how I am feeling? I have had a rough week physically but I keep on smiling! I am just tired of feeling exhausted!!! I will be okay, thanks for asking about me!

Chico thanks you for the hug and we love your avatar!

Mouse let me sleep in this morning - did me a world of good!
My little Chico woke me up this morning to go out and now he is back asleep! Gotta love him! cheesy
:whisper: Another wonderful performance by our young local talent. This production with a cast younger than those that performed Footloose a few weeks ago was better rehearsed. They had the ability to fool you in forgetting just how young they are while they danced and sang their way into our joyful hearts.
This was reminding me of the times my kids and I use to go to the Children's Theater all the time. One time we went to see some Raggedy Ann play. I don't remember the story to well (long time ago) but Raggedy Ann would break out in a song on almost every scene. This one time she started singing and some little boy in the front row, probably 3 years old, yelled out, "ohhh, not another song"! Not good manners but everyone busted out laughing. Even Raggedy Ann was trying to keep from laughing. His mom was so embarrassed! I will never forget that!
Good a.m. Ya'll! Been a very lazy weekend thus far. I did have to go in for about 1 1/2 hrs. Yesterday as it got very busy again. The rest of the day we watched tv & did nothing. I hope to find something to do today. I can only clean so much. It seems every weekend @ home is filled w/ football. Today the guys are watching the pro bowl & only because cam newton is in it. They usually never watch it. Until it comes on the tv will be on espn to hear every possible comment made about it & the players.
It's suppose to be very nice today but i don't have much interest in going out.
Football will be over soon and you can get out and do something else fun! I am actually going to miss football when it's over. I love football season!

Ever go to graveyards on your travels? Sounds a bit odd, I suppose, but there's quite a bit of history there. We went to one in Ireland and there was a tombstone with a lengthy inscription that I'll never forget. It read,
"Here lies Timothy O'Reilly, who was shot dead on the corner while doing absolutely nothing on a Saturday afternoon."
I love to see old cemeteries. A lot of interesting history and artwork on the tombstones. That one you saw is very interesting!!!

Morning, gang! I'm up, drinking coffee, and watching Christmas specials. I just got done watching Darlene Love's performance and now I'm watching A White House Christmas, why mysteriously I missed. The fire is going, it's kinda chilly outside, all I need now is a tree with lights.

But you know, it could be worse. I have my own personal countdown and I'm already under 200 days until Christmas preparations begin.

Today is going to be boring. Nothing on the TV...NFL isn't playing, racing isn't on, baseball isn't in season yet (but it's coming, yipeeeee), so I don't know what I'm gonna do. I could go into work for a while, but I dunno. Hope yall have a great day!

I loved my trip to Ireland, but it was too short.

My husband and I both have family roots in Ireland. Next time, I'd take a month so I can hang out in a quaint village if I want without worrying about where the rest of the family wants to go.

My brothers and I went with our parents for their 35th wedding anniversary. We've got roots there too. That was our first family trip in a good number of years and we were living in different cities at the time. I expected to find Irish tunes being sung in the Pubs, but the music was pretty much what we left behind in the mid-to-late 70's. Everthying closed by 11p.m. because the people had to get up and work the next day. The only Limerick we heard was in Limerick and it went like this: "If I had me a wife, who was giving me strife, I tell ye what I would do, I'd buy me a boat, set her afloat and paddle me on canoe." Not to offend anyone from that neck of the woods, but that was a spooky town. It reminded me of parts of Toronto that I'd avoid.
The best time I had was in Dundalk where the people, with the exception of their accents, were like friendly next door neighbours.

lol lol this is one of the reasons i did not dothe christmas phone greeting i was a bit iffy incause no one knew what i was saying...lol

I loved the Bed & Breakfast places we stayed at especially the one in London Derry where there was a Dairy farm and I got to feed a calf from a baby bottle. I can still hear the suckling noise in my mind. Those were huge cows; their backs were level with the farmers' shoulders.

One of my brothers wore his family tartan clothing and while tourists were taking pictures inside KilKenny Castle, a few of them snapped photos of my brother. HaHa. My mom wanted him to dress "tame" for our trip, that was as tame as he could muster up I guess.

For most of the trip, we were in Southern Ireland, but we did have to venture over to Northern Ireland to pick up my "mustard-tartan-plaid" brother at the airport, he had to fly in separately due to his work schedule. He came in on a much smaller plane than us and there were delays at Belfast airport and we were talking amongst ourselves that it might have been him that caused it (unintentionally of course).

I wasn't fond of the small roads they called highways nor was I willing to sit on the hump the whole trip so we took turns - did I mention the small cars? It's one thing to travel in a small car when you're under ten years old, but five adults in a small car felt quite squishy.

Wayne and I went to the lake yesterday to feed the ducks and take a walk. I thought the ducks were going to attack us as we walked up, they wanted food! I have been going to this lake ever since I was a little girl and never remembering seeing that many ducks at one time! We had fun!

Who all listened to RadioJonD's show last night? Wayne and I tuned in, it was great! We even got up acting goofy and danced to one of the songs.

Be sure to listen next Saturday night starting 8:00 pm est!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I worked under the deck all day yesterday, but I now have two additional water faucets and several (waterproof!) electrical outlets around the deck. No more hooking hoses together to get to the other side of the yard! It's ready for the lattice to go up, finally.

Nancy and went out to eat, but didn't really see a movie that we could wanted to see (read: that she wanted to see!), so we came home watched a scary movie on Netflix. Ha! I still win!

We're off to church now. I hope y'all have a great day!

So when can we expect our backyard BBQ invite? Hmmm?

I had a similar experience to your ducks, but they were Canada Geese. I didn't have food for them, I only had my camera.

I was a bit nervous of this guy giving me a warning
Shadflysnack.jpg

Then realized he was just munching on a shadfly.

This one got the closest, but he was likely the leader making sure the gang was safe or scouting for food.

In my opinion, the ones to stay away from are farm geese and the odd swan. They can be quite nasty.

I missed the Greasy Skillet last night because I was occupied with ANNIE. He does spin out a mighty fine show, doesn't he!

Good Morning MMC!

Stayed home this morning, bit of a sore throat so did not want to pass it on.

Hope you all have a great day, going to church, relaxing or hanging out here!

Wayne went onto church without me. I just feel so exhausted and have to work today so resting up for now.

Dawg, Paula Deen is right now and they are talking about football and the Georgia Bulldogs, their favorite team!

Christmasstar, I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Attention MMC!

I hope you don't mind me getting a little mushy but just wanted to thank you all for being great friends to one another. I see so much support on here that I have NEVER seen on another forum. It is great to see that we have not met face to face but it feels as if we all have.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for always being here to brighten my day!

It's the spirit of Christmas that makes this place different

I hope I spelled everything correctly and I send ((((Hugs))))) to all including all the fur kids

Hermione's is sleeping right now so I had better follow suit while I have the chance...xo

Spelling doesn't count here.

The kitties, Smokey and Lily have finally started to act like themselves again after hiding a solid 24 hours. I am glad they have come out as I was beginning to worry about them even though I checked on them.

:tree:

I hope Hermione is doing well, she sounds absolutely adorable! I am glad that the kitties are acting like themselves, maybe they are all done with the hiding for good now. I am envious of your idea with the tree, I wish that my parents would let me do that! How nice it would be to relax in my room and plug the tree in, just with the lights. That is the one thing I think I miss most about Christmas this time of year - admiring the tree! Trust me, you are not letting anyone down! Thank you for asking about my mom. She is having throat surgery on Wednesday to get the mass removed, they will find out then if it is cancer or not. Praying it isn't cancer, of course. Even if it's treatable, it still won't be a picnic.

Stayed home this morning, bit of a sore throat so did not want to pass it on.

Hope you all have a great day, going to church, relaxing or hanging out here!

I hope you feel better! Drink some tea, relax, or take some zinc. Zinc always helps to prevent sore throats/colds when I feel them coming on. I even had an awful cold last year and I started taking Zinc after a few days, and boy did it really help reduce the suffering with the cold and shortened the length I had it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you are all having a great start to your day! I almost didn't recognize the big orange blob in the sky this morning. It is always so dark, cloudy, and gloomy here that I haven't realized how nice it is to see the sun until now. Regardless, there is not much I can go outside and do - the temperature is only in the low 30's right now.
Last night I went to go pick-up a movie at the Redbox machine, and as I was driving past a car dealership, they had a massive colored spiral Christmas tree in their parking lot, all lit up (and by massive I swear it had to be at least 20 feet tall!). It was so pretty! The place just opened a few days after Christmas, they put the tree up then but I haven't seen it lit for a while. It is nice to know that we are not the only one's with year-round Christmas spirit!
I had a really nice weekend with my family. Since I didn't do any school work since Friday evening, I have to get a few things done today. I had some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, and now I am stuffed.
I cannot believe that I will be in Week #4 of school already - time really flies! That means Christmas is getting closer and closer :)
From the voice of RJD: Coolarity!!!
:whisper: Another wonderful performance by our young local talent. This production with a cast younger than those that performed Footloose a few weeks ago was better rehearsed. They had the ability to fool you in forgetting just how young they are while they danced and sang their way into our joyful hearts.
I only knew a few of the children in this production and the voice coaches and musical director. The two lead production assistance who helped bring this together were among the first group of students to perform with the Dreamcoat Fantasy Theatre. I'm glad they stuck with it. Sometimes I wish I had, but I don't have any regrets about the road my life took, I chose the direction myself and I'm more than content with life as I know it.
My neighbour really enjoyed it. I commented to her about the vocal range that the young lad who played "Rooster" had. His voice was higher than Annie's and then he'd get it lower right on cue.
I'm kicking myself that I missed out on Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, but I've seen more of their productions than I've missed so I guess you could call me a Dreamcoat Theatre Fan.
When I was growing up there were Summer Challenge productions organized by the Church (TOROS) and Gateway Theatre Guild and that was it for acting stuff, except for school plays.
I directed Aesop's Fables once upon a time in a High School far-far-away-ago. It wasn't as easy directing as it was performing, but I had fun.
I had more fun playing one of the witch sisters in MacBeth than I did directing. Still remember the lines and use that voice nearly every Halloween.
Coach, what is your countdown???
Good morning,
I took a sick day from MMC yesterday, I caught what JP had, I was so sick, still don't feel like eating today, I was in bed for 18 hours with this nasty bug, I am still very dehydrated, it was so bad my skin had a grey tinge to it last night. I do feel better somewhat today, and being off my foot for nearly 18 hours my foot feels better as of right now. I will be sitting around doing nothing today, I don't think I slept more than 2 hours at a time yesterday, even though I was in bed for 18 hours.
Talk to you all later.
Take care!!!
CM3,
I just re-read this this morning. It comes from the Little Blue Book for Advent. I, too, felt a little guilty because I was afraid I would miss someone, especially when so many are praying for me:
"...Perhaps I try to be sure to include everyone in my prayer. I do this sincerely because I care about them and I want to help.
Perhaps my prayer gets busy and cluttered because I'm trying to remember to mention all the intentions and all the people for whom I've promised to pray. It's as though I think God wouldn't be able to remember someone if I didn't specifically take care of it.
Perhaps I feel I have all these people depending on me, and I work very hard to include them in my prayer. I am acting as if...it all depends on me. When I do this, I have things backwards. God is God and I am God's child. God handles things as God, and I handle things as God's child.
I can simply relax and talk to God."
Don't be so hard on yourself. Sometimes when I think of all the prayer requests I know about, I just simply ask God to give peace. And especially to give peace to me!!!
You are the greatest, CM3. That's why you are the Founder's Award Winner!!!
...
I am still praying for everyone. I am letting everyone down by not joining in every day and I feel really bad.
@Christmasstar-I tried to quote but it did not work,...but your cake looks Awesome!!! especially the buttercream frosting made my blood sugar go up just by looking at it..if we have a Christmas party here at mmc I nominate you to make the desserts!
