What kind of rice do you use in the crockpot? Do you cook it beforehand and then put it in or do you cook it along with the chicken? I love crockpot soups, especially anything with rice and chicken.

Good evening, everyone! How are all of you doing? I occasionally get to read a few pages of posts here and there, but I am going to be really far behind probably until Weds., which is my day off. I truly apologize.

I've just been really busy with work and family. I came from work this morning and threw a chicken and rice soup in the crockpot, then got up and made a chocolate zucchini bread.

I know I've been missing a lot the past couple of days, so just know that anyone who needs prayers or who isn't feeling well, prayers are on the way.

Oh, my goodness!!! I have had these, too, but had no idea what they were. I just thought I was tired!

Yes, the first time I experienced one it weirded me out until I found out what was going on. I've never seen a doctor for them, because I've had several, but over the space of many years. They're a very rare occurrence for me. A sparkling circle that gradually widens out into a ring, and keeps widening until it's out of my field of vision. It's been a few years since I've seen one.

Well they have released my niece from the hospital. They're still not sure what caused the memory loss or why she is still dizzy but it's not life threating. So they just told her to follow up with her regular doctor about the dizziness and bring her back if it happens again.

Very scary, but glad she is home safe. Hope she continues to improve, Made. I will keep her & your family in my thoughts & prayers!

Finally a good day at work, it was nice to be smiling while working again. I have volunteered to drive my wife to her seminar tomorrow, she doesn't like driving long distances by herself, so I will be trying to entertain myself in a strange area for 7 or so hours while waiting for her. I did read there is a Christmas store in the area, so I may have to search it out. It will be a long day. Tomorrow is also the 21st anniversary of my mother's death, I will be very close to the hospital where she passed, so I feel a little strange about that.

I am just winding down. I have Friends on TV and I have been going through the posts on the Countdown. Everyone is asleep including Hermione who is in her "house" for a time out. She is in that phase right now where she thinks she knows it all !! It was SO FUNNY, I wish you all could have seen her this evening. When I was having dinner she somehow got a strand of spaghetti off my plate and she was having a ball with it!! She did not know what to do with it. she laid by it, threw it in the air and laid down on it !! At one point that poor strand of spaghetti was even on her head. It was just so cute, I couldn't bear to take it from her. She finally devoured it I think. I don't know for sure but I think she is FINALLY getting the grasp of house training !! She has to get the next set of puppy shots this Friday and I am trying to take a day of vacation so that my husband does not have to take her alone. She has never been in the car with him alone and I am concerned she may not behave and possibly cause an accident. I would just feel better if I can go too.

Wes is home. I got an e-mail from my sister and she said he is tired but doing well. I am cautiously hopeful about the future.

my son & i were very busy yesterday. managed to get all the junk taken off & then had to go get crush & run for the potholes in our driveway. i thought we wouldn't have enough but turns out it was exactly what we needed. i tried to help as much as i could but i ended up being the one to rake it level after my son shoveled it out. man oh man what a workout!
needless to say, by the time we were done, my face felt as though it was gonna blow off. my sinus' were crazy. took meds & tried to take a nap.
then my daughter wanted me to call our cell phone carrier about her speaker not working....i was on the phone for 30 minutes or so. what's w/ that? they were actually trying to troubleshoot her phone to determine if it could be fixed. hello, can't fix a speaker issue like that. i was so aggravated, my head was pounding, & no offense to anyone out there but, the person troubleshooting could not speak english hardly. every thing he said i had to ask him to repeat. ugghh!
sorry, don't mean to vent, today is another day & i'm sure it will be much better!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Have I said lately how much I LOVE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME?!?! Wow, I got almost a week's work done yesterday afternoon. My shoulder hurts from reaching around and patting myself on the back. And my son has really gotten strong enough to be a big help, too.

Today is Tuesday, my afternoon with my daughter here at work while Nancy takes our son to guitar practice. I know I see her every evening at home, but I get to spend more one-on-one time with Jacob during the week than Elizabeth. Looking forward to 3:30!

So glad the weekend allowed you to see how lucky you really are with your family and friends. I, too, have felt lucky this weekend, even though I was not able to get on to the Greasy Skillet because of computer issues. I almost cried!!!

Good early early monday morning everyone! I was up with the baby because Brandi had a bad night sick and he was crying and I was awake anyways!!! so I rocked him to sleep and now I am here catching up with you guys! this has been such a great weekend for me it's hard to even put in words....it's just been perfect...I have been sad and depressed for so long over my dad it was just great to get around old friends and remember the good times and even though we don't see each other all the time we are still bonded by the bonds of friendship!!!!!
Brandi is out of school this week for spring break but has a Gyno appt to find out the due date...we figured Nov 15th or something close like that.lol I'm surprised we have not put bets on it...we do every thing else....it does not feel like a monday so far,,,,i;m still hungover,but not from alcohol,but from the great weekend I had spending it with good old friends. I still have a few hours before I go to the Gym before work so I guess I will stick around here and post in the games section....have a great day everyone...I will be back later!

Good afternoon! How is everyone's day going? Mine is just starting. I just got up here a short while ago. I am getting the kids lunch and then I am doing to do somethings around the house. If I can find some motivation, I need to workout. It's a beautiful day out, so maybe I will just take the kids on a walk. Once the weather is nice, we usually start taking a walk outside everyday. I love that! :dance:

No real plans for today. DH works tonight, so I am making EA and baked ziti. I think my sister is coming by later too and she said she may even stay too, so I figured if she decides to, at least there will be something cooked for her. My only real other plans is to spend time with the kids and to spend time her. I have lots of catching up here. I've been missing up guys greatly!

Good morning my christmas friends
Its cold here this morning. but dry think its about 7/8 c
Have a busy day in front of me have 3 pallets . but have some help from so hopefully it will not that bad
As its paddys day on saturday. my mates are on my case already !! i wood need to devide myself in 3 . am trying to get them all together but there is always one that wont play ball
As well am trying to find out if the shops are open or shut and some are and some is not. so am 50/50 as a saturday is a busy day and wood find it hard to close. one of the girls refuses to do it but the other one says she will do it to about 2 my partner says he will take over then as he does not go out. the monday is a bank holiday as well to make up for the saturday.and some places will be shut to. so at this moment am not sure what way am going lol
Anyway hope this morning finds you all good and all furbabies as well.
Right time to get dressed. think i will give another cup of tea a miss i have had 4 already !!!
Have just seem a thing come up on my internet page. red meat will kill you !! so thats the next thing i may stop eating !!

It is windy and rainy here in northern California. Weird. It should have rained in December, January, and February!!! I, too, am having computer issues. It is running so slowly that a turtle could catch up with it!!! I hope it will hang on at least until Christmas.

CM3, I LOVE the book. It is even more special to me now that I know it is like the one David got for you. I just finished reading another book, What Would Jane Austen Do? I keep going back to your book to read little snippets. I love reading it a little at a time, just reveling in the words. So beautiful, just like you.

Made, loved the card. I hope you have a great week with your nieces. Your sister is lucky to have you, but you already know that! LOL!!!

I am still pretty much pain-free. There are some major twinges when I move a certain way, but with the medication, I really have a handle on it. I think most of it is just the stitches getting tighter as I heal. Thankfully, the stitches come out on Thursday.

I have received some gorgeous flowers. I also received a gift coupon for a free meal from Round Table, one of our favorite places to eat. Yesterday, a meal was delivered to the house from Cub Scout Pack #68. It was a bake-it-yourself lasagna and a wonderful salad. Man, oh, man was it good. The generosity of people really make me heal faster!!! I received a nice gift card for Christmas for Red Lobster. Since the Lobster Fest is going on, Hubby and I are going to take advantage of that. I love lobster and all other seafood and fresh-water fish. I know I could eat it every day!!!

I think of you all so often. I truly want you to know what your friendships and prayers have meant to me. Just saying a quick prayer when you think of it really has kept me on the path to a quick recovery. I have had some visitors who expected to see a sickly person with no color and a weakly demeanor. They are shocked at how good and healthy I look. I know the intravenous nutrient therapy helped tremendously in addition to the prayers and thoughts of others. I am so thankful that God allowed all of you and the doctors and personnel into my life. I just cannot stop smiling!!!

I think it is time for a nap. I feel like a dog who makes the rounds finding a new napping place. That is my new routine now!!!

The technical term is "scintillating scotoma," if you ever want to look it up. I've never had any ill effects from one---it just alarmed me the first time I saw one! It's somehow regarded as a migraine, even though it's not a classic migraine headache.

Well it's midday!! just a few more hours and it will be the weekend! I am really looking forward to the trip tomorrow to Tallahassee,Fl...it's an hour and a half drive and I have a friend there who turns 50 sunday but we are having the "surprise" party at 5 tomorrow.. I have a buddy who lives in Atlanta who drives a harley(hog) motorcycle and is driving down to my house tonight and he will spend the night at my house and ride with us to Tallahassee to the party.IF it's warm tomorrow I will want to drive the Harley instead of the honda accord.lol!
