Sage advice, Shellie.

Friday at last...this has been the week from Hades for me. I had a Doctor's appointment last Monday because I've been having trouble with anxiety. Found out my blood pressure was way up. Got new BP meds to take with the old BP meds. Was very anxious the whole visit. On Tuesday, the anxiety got totally out of control, and I had to leave work. Was off work Wednesday and Thursday. Finally had to come back to work today, and I'm sitting here shaking like a leaf. I had a discussion with my doctor this morning, and he's put me on two 'nerve pills'. Now, the big problem is that I am an organist and Holy Week is coming up. When I sat down to practice last night, in the privacy of my own home, my hands shook so bad I couldn't play. I've never had this sort of problem before. Never. I'm so upset I don't know what to do, and that's making my anxiety even worse. Could you please keep me in your prayers? I don't know what I'll do if I have to stop playing piano and organ-this is the love of my life

Sorry to hear your like this. but beleive me i have been down that road your on.
IF you want a bit of advice ..dont bow down to it.. until you have had it you dont realise how it makes you feel...
i have had it all. the high blood pressure.. the tense feeling..the sore head.. the head spinning...the shortness of breath..times i thought i was having a heart attack and i even at times thought of ending it.. but i rose above it.
I looked for nice things. i thought of christmas and happy times.i laughted i danced. it was not easy . i was kinda young at the time but even yet when i get really stressed out i can feel it coming on me again. but i get to it..befour it gets to me
But i have found out that only one person can help and thats yourself...
FIND THE REASON.. and sort that. or if you cant sort it either get help to sort it or if its not that important, walk away..let it go
Anxiety is sore on blood presure. and its best to try and keep the blood pressure good..you talk about nerve tablets. but they are not as bad as that. the dr wood have given you a small dosage just to claim your body down a bit. they do work. they make you relax..you say about the hands shaking. but these should help with this.. and all your doing is making yourself worst by worrying about something your good at.
It can be caused by stress. only you know what is the cause.
I found that excerise did help. even only a good walk round the block. or dance to music.
Hoping this helps a bit.

oh merrybells, don't get frustrated just yet, i am praying for you & hope the anxiety goes as quickly as it came. bless your heart, i'm thinking of you. why did the doc put you on nerve pills w/out 1st considering it to be the bp meds causing the anxiety? i don't know, i'm certainly not a doctor. take care merrybells!

Good evening, MMC!

May each and every one of you have a MERRY start to your weekend!

Meceka,
Since you have snow and sleet, could we meet at your house tomorrow to listen to the Greasy Skillet? It would be so much fun to gather 'round a fire, drink a seasonal drink, listen to our favorite DJ, and have a regular Christmas-fest.

Another busybusybusy day. And I thought I was tired yesterday! Thank heaven for tea. I think that was all that kept me from zoning out today.

And you are one of OUR favorite people, too!!!

*blush*

you stick one leg in, shower it, take a break
then the other leg and take a break
after that your right arm and take a break...
and so on!
Takes hours for one shower, but is possible.
 LOL

Set that to music and it'll sound like the Hokey-Pokey ...

Oops, just noticed that Seawaters beat me to that one!

MerryCarey, I see Mr. back got his 15 minutes of fame. =)

More like 15 seconds ... to be accurate, more like 5 seconds!

So the Mega Millions jackpot just reached $640 million!!!! Heck if I win that much I could buy everyone a house in Santa Claus, Indiana instead of just taking everyone on vacation there.

You are so generous---count me in!

It hit the news here in Canada, apparently if we want to make the 2 hour drive to the boarder with gas costing over $5 a gallon, wait to cross and deal with the boarder crossing guards, find a store that sells the tickets, then wait 2 hours in the line up for the tickets. Then 8 hours later get home again.
If we should happen to win we are actually allowed to do so.

And I'll bet you'd have to pay U.S. taxes on it, too!

Some timely advice, just in case anyone here wins it!

I was so annoyed after class today. I noticed in my first class that my friend was absent. I thought that was odd because we were having a test in the second class (which she also has with me). So after the first class ended, I approached my teacher and asked him if the test was still today. His expression immediately changed and he said, "Oops. Did I forget to email you that? The test is next Friday now." I missed school on Wednesday because I was feeling under the weather. The respectful thing to do is to email the professor and tell them why you won't be there, and to ask what was going on in class. All he replied was "Thanks" and didn't tell me anything that we did in class, nor that the test was changed. I spent three hours putting a study guide together yesterday that I could have done slowly all of next week. Ugh! It's frustrating that he didn't tell me, nor did my friend tell me.

On a better note - I played the Mega Millions today. My first time playing the lottery! Can't hurt, right? You certainly can't win if you don't play!

I am going to sit down and watch the Penguins game. I hope we don't lose again. I don't know what happened to us lately but we lost the past two games.

Have a good night!

As someone who suffers from anxiety issues, I fully understand what you are going through. My anxiety will disappear for times and then come back out of the blue and WHAM! I am fearing everything and get "paralyzed" over stupid little things. I try to do deep breathing, and listen to soothing music, sometimes Christmas music works the best for me.
I will keep you in my thoughts.

Good evening,

I told my boss I won't be in tomorrow because I will win the lottery tonight. cheesy He said he wouldn't blame me. Wow that would be awesome to win that, I bought 2 tickets on my way home, if I did win, that Christmas store would be up and running by Christmas this year. Another long workday today, tomorrow then a day off. They are talking about snow tomorrow, ahhh New England.

Have a good night!

I would wish you good luck but I want to win!!!!! I promise to buy a christmas store for you to run though if I win.

What I like about Melatonin it's all natural. I take a 1/4 of one and it knocks me out but I am sensitive to everything. When I have a cold I have to take childrens cold medicine because adult strength is too much for me.

He will fall asleep in the skillet!

This baby is so beautiful !! Is he yours CAH ?? xo

So we had call into the school for my son to transfer all aplications have to go through the guidance office and after she questioned why he wanted to change schools my wife told her what had happened with the baseball team her words were "We shouldn't make such a hasty decision" and she would like to talk to the athletic director first. So my wife that was fine but the coach has a tendency to be loose liped about parent concerns and we were told that would not be allowed.
we'll see about that! You know the simple answer would be to not allow the same guy be the freshman coach for all sports because once the blinders go on to who are the favorites then the actual ability factor in the sport doesn't matter anymore.Anyway thanks for putting up with my venting!!!

This just stinks !! I agree with the post that said to stand your ground !!! This guy so sounds like a LOSER !! Praying for you and your son xo

That is so sweet and generous of you Made !! If you win, I would like to borrow enough so that I can quit and find a better job xo

That was VERY RUDE of that man not to let you know !! I would be upset too !! It seems lots of folks WANT respect without RETURNING it xo

Don't work to hard!!!!!! We don't want you falling asleep during the Skillet tomorrow night.

Actually it was a bit slow so they let me leave at 6:00, it was nice driving home in daylight for a change.

That's because I got rid of it.

That explains all the extra room in the closet!

So the Mega Millions jackpot just reached $640 million!!!! Heck if I win that much I could buy everyone a house in Santa Claus, Indiana instead of just taking everyone on vacation there.

That would be cool!!!

I told my boss that today was my last day, then I paused for a moment, then I said because I am going to hit the mega millions. The look on her face during that moment of pause was priceless! She said "Don't ever do that to me again!" She actually though I quit for a second there.

Well it doesn't look like we are moving to Santa Claus.
