Well that could be a idea you could start now and say come christmas you gonna give santa your dummy for toys might work. give her a bit of time to adjust to it.
AYE sure was a nice way to get rid of dh,s dummy think it was a bit much. bet the parents had some crying to listen to. as i said you do it your way THEY ARE YOUR KIDS.

Thanks Shellie - you're so sweet. Thanks for being such a good friend!

Good evening, dear Christmas family.

I am really sad tonight....my little Chihuahua, Ivy, is in the hospital in very serious condition. She seems to have developed some sort of heart condition.........She has beeng choking and gagging and today she would not eat....I called the doctor right away and when my husband got home he took her. The vet told my husband that her tongue is blue and she is cyanotic. He did x-rays and has severe pulmonary edema. When I spoke to him on the phone he said he put her on oxygen and started her on Lasix which is a diuretic.....

He was very serious so I know that Ivy is near dying........I can't tell you how this hurts, I know that you all understand. I just hope the treatment works and that it is not too late....I know she is 14 but we both love her so much.......I had to work this afternoon and once I found out how bad her condition is I could barely concentrate......

If you could all spare a prayer or two for my Ivy, that would be so wonderful.......Thanks everyone.....I am going to sign off for now...

(((Hugs))) to all especially Harlowe, Ella, Snowflake, Snickers, Daisy, Palmer, Mouse, Chico and siblings, Gomez and siblings, Bo, Pocket, Penny, Victor, and all furkids everywhere xo
I praying for Ivy and for you! I know how you feel.

Take care, Louann.

She woke up 20 minutes ago. First she claimed she is falling out of bed. There is no way she is doing that because there is a rail almost the whole way across. I talked to my DH (he's is on the road to teach currently). He said he read that she is at the age where they can start having nightmares too. I said yes - she then said here later on she is waking up at night and getting scared. Maybe she is...

Wake up Weary Weekend Wanderers.

Get up and smell - um - read the count:
Days to the Season: 212
Days to Christmas Day: 254
Day after tomorrow = SINGLE DIGITS to our next Milestone, the 1/3 Christmas Day marker, and on its heels, the 200-day Season Window.
Wowzambino!

Slowly getting warmer.
Started off this morning at 46 degrees on the way up to the 70's by this afternoon and the 80's tomorrow!
(Like we are racing through Spring and heading straight for Summer!)

You have a Sensational Saturday, Friends.
Keep that Christmas light shining and may the power of the Season be with you!

No, we don't let her watch anything on tv, but child programming and if it looks scary, then we turn it off. We let her only watch the children channels. We don't really even watch anything around her. When you're referring to "dummy", I guess you mean her pacifier? If so, she put them all in her Easter basket and hasn't had them since. She doesn't ask for them either. She's done really well with it. I don't think she would be looking for attention either. I know I don't get to see her as much as I would, but DH spends a lot of time with her. More than a lot of parents get to.

Thanks for helping! Yes, I have thought of all of those things and no, we haven't changed any of the rountines. She does eat a snack before she goes to bed, but it is the same types of snack that she has been doing forever. She would tell me if she was too warm/cold, plus she would just take her blankets off. I appreciate your input. It's nice to have other peoples input. It's sometimes needed. I truly think it's just going to be an adjustment period. Either that or she is having night terrors - she went through a stage 6 months or so ago where she wouldn't sleep for 2 weeks or so. Maybe it's the same thing.

And thanks for that comment. That means so much. You're such a great friend! He is such a great dad, too!

Brad: Are you cooking breakfast at Bernie's this morning???

Aye could be it back again. am not much good to you am sorry. and yes you could be right about the adjustment. you might be right there. sometimes its takes a while even in adult hood to adjust and maybe in her head she saw the dummy as a comfort thing my neice carried a wee blanket round everywhere for 3 years. hugging it and sleeping with it
Hopefully your get it sorted or they will stop. its not fair on the wee girl and your and hubby. yur a nurse you need sleep to.

Aww, Shellie! Don't say that! Any advice, is good advice. Even talking with me is helping. I don't get much adult conversation, except at work, then if my DH is at work, I turn to you guys or my mom. I appreciate all of you sooo much!

As for my sleep, it is what it is. I just want her to be okay. My kids are #1. Thanks for looking out for me though. I appreciate it . As the quote goes, "I'll sleep when I'm dead!"

Good morning, dear Christmas family! How is everyone doing? I'm well. I got about 5 hours of sleep - not total, but I laid down a little after 12 and got up around 5, but I know I didn't sleep that totally!

EA walked into my room crying and crawled up into my bed around 2 and has been there since, then DS woke up at 5 and here we are! I was hoping he would go back to sleep, but he was ready to get up for the day.

As for EA, my daughter, she has had a big week since Easter and I am so proud of her. I haven't talked about it, but will now. Some of you will think my DH and I'm crazy and if you want to, that's okay. Every parent does things differently. My inlaws even think we're crazy.

We've been potty training her since she's been 18 months because she's been interested. She a lot of times wouldn't have an accident at home anymore, even at night. At daycare though, that was a different story. This past week, since she's 2 1/2, at daycare and at home, she has been starting to wear "big girl pants" and hasn't been having accidents. The key was to the "round #2 on the potty. Haha - she finally did it! She was scared to do it for some reason, but she finally did it. She loves going on the potty now. I'm so proud of her.

Her's the downside though - in the same week, (where the glares may come in), we had already planned to take her pacifier, her "binky" and she was going to put in her basket for the Easter bunny. Other parents gave me this idea. I thought at 2 1/2 this wasn't a big deal at all. She was so attached that she would take it everywhere. She would even take my son's out of his mouth. We've actually taken my son's, except at night and he hardly ever uses his.

She now for the past week for a couple of the nights hasn't slept through all night, in her own bed. Grrr....we had to eventually take it sometime. I didn't want to wait to long. I guess what I am trying to do is convience myself that this is just an adjustment period, right?

Sorry this was such a long post.

Hope everyone has great day. I always write long post like this when no one is logged on and when I am dead tired!!! :)

Congrats on the potty training and getting rid of the pacifier!!!!! My youngest niece has been going through the same thing at night's. She goes to sleep in her own bed and then wakes up about 2am and goes to my sister's bed. My sister's doctor said to get her a body pillow to snuggle up to and it seems to have helped. She's slept in her own bed the last 3 night's now.

I hope you get to take a nap later!!!!

I have been wondering for a while and thought I would finally ask: who here belongs to Magical Holiday Home (MHH). I visit there everyonce in awhile off of this site, reading some of the posts. Is it worth joining? I do recgonize some of the screenames, as members here.

But, first we are going to the ER with the little one
At 1 o'clock.
He cut himself on glass, so we have to go in and take it out.
(He wont let med do it)
And it's my fault who left the broken mirror in the hall when cleaning up
Just for a short time, but he had to touch it. Like kids do.
And I should have known that :(

Poor Thing. I hope he heals quickly!!!

Thanks! I never even thought about that! Maybe I should give that a try! I am willing to try anything! Thanks for the advice!

I hope so too, but she hasn't been taking a nap for the last couple of days. She says now she doesn't need one. She's a big girl. Grr on that too! :)
