Happy MILESTONE Day!!!

:merry:

The idea of bringing in the extra furniture really made me smile.

I have been thinking about Christmas more than ever in the last few days. I was telling my daughter how Christmas Eve will not be the same since my uncle passed away.

It has been a tradition for the past 30 years to go to my uncle's house on Christmas Eve. I had mentioned on here before how his 2 bedroom, 1 bath house is so small and somehow we would cram over 20 people in there every year! It was a tradition that I wouldn't have traded for the world. It was kind of comical how we had to practically "step over" people to get from one room to another, it was great!!! His house will be sold so that part of Christmas is gone for good. It's sad but we will move on and will find new traditions to start. I told my daughter that I will bring in a bunch of extra furniture in my house this year to make the house crowded and it will feel like Christmas Eve at my uncle's house!

Sometimes tragedy make some dread Christmas but somehow it's my therapy and I need it more during times like this! I don't know if it will always work but I have been through a few things in life that Christmas was a huge part of healing.

Have a Merry Day everyone!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!! It's a warm one here in central Indy with a temp of 80 degree's right now. I'm babysitting my youngest niece right now while my sister is on a field trip with my older niece. They where going to the zoo. Luckily my niece is being good today. She even took a 2 hour nap. That's rare anymore. I'm also trying out my food dehydrator. I have one tray of orange slices in it right now to see how it does. The main reason I bought it is to make apple slices and orange slices. I'm thinking about doing a really rustic Christmas tree this year decorated with dried fruit slices, salt dough, felt, and wooden ornaments. I'm not for sure yet but that's where I'm leaning right now. I just feel a need to change it up this year for some reason. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!!

Just wanted to stop by & say hi while on my lunch. Hope everyone's having a nice Tuesday so far!

I ordered an animated & musical Mr. Christmas Chime Clock last week, and I can't wait to receive it! I've really wanted one since I saw them on QVC last year. They had the ice skaters, ballroom dancers, and train. I decided on the dancers. For awhile, I wanted the Mr. Christmas Nutcracker Suite, but I couldn't justify spending the amount they want for a brand new one. Then, I saw this clock & liked it even better, for @ half the price. Anyways, it looks like this: Mr. Christmas Clock.jpg.
I plan to have it be my Christmas piece that I keep out year round. I do have other Mr. Christmas Winter Wonderland pieces that I display w/ my village, and love them.
You can set this clock to chime every hour, and play a different Christmas carol each time. They also have year round songs, too. Should be really beautiful!!

It's really hot here =( High of 100 today, windy, sunny, and dusty. That's what I get for living in the desert, huh?!

Oh well, we won't be here forever. I look forward to four seasons again!! I'm yearning for Fall & Winter so badly!

Enjoy the rest of your day, friends!

Hope it's wonderful & Christmassy!!

The replacement for the DOA shave ice machine came yesterday. It runs, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Maybe tonight!

I have never been in a coffee shop that can make a great cup of tea, or even a good one. Starbucks is no exception. They all think throwing a tea bag in a cup makes tea, what a joke!

I've never had tea that I didn't make myself ... I only started drinking it a year or so ago. I'd probably be too persnickety to like Starbucks tea. I like to use freshly boiled water, time it myself so it isn't too weak or too bitter, and add just a splash of milk and [blush] two sugars. (I use mostly teabags, though---I'm not a "loose tea only" snob. cheesy) In the kitchenette at the office there's an electric teakettle, which I very much prefer to using hot water out of the coffee machine.

What songs does it play?

A friend of mine passed away, his father went to wake him up this morning and found him dead. There have been so many deaths around here lately, it's very sad. I especially hate hearing of someone so young passing. It really gives meaning to the statement that life is short so live it with no regrets and not to waste time fighting and being angry with people.

I just went out for a bite so now that I am home I am probably going to get some work and cleaning done. I hope everyone is having a good week so far, I am going to try my best to be around more!

Nice clock!

Thank you!!

Right after July 4th I will be MORE THAN READY for Fall and Winter! =)

I agree, CAH :)

There's a few things that I'm looking forward to, my in-laws coming out at the end of this month, and the 4th Of July! Other than that, let's get moving to Autumn! Hahaha!

When is your trip? Is it this summer?

:-)

I'm so sorry, Jennifer. I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

Regarding what you said above @ life being too short made me think of this quote which I've always liked:

"You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted." ~Ruth E. Renkl

So true!!

GIRL you work to many hows..and 2 kids and a home.. i see you going down the burnt out road.. i dont no how you do it

I do work a lot, that's for sure, but only with a supportive husband. He's the best and without him, I wouldn't be able to do it. With his schedule, it makes it work. I do it too, for the extra money in the summer. It's nice for being to take extra little trips here there and being able to what we want to do, when we want. It's worth it in the long run.

I think this is such a great idea! This will keep your uncle's spirit alive! He will be felt for sure!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high of 78 degrees. My niece had to come home with me yesterday so I think we are going to run to a few yard sales like Meceka. Then we have to head out to my older niece's bridging ceremony. She goes from being a Daisy to a Brownie today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to her! That's very exciting!
