Good Saturday morning everyone!!! I got up at 330 to a screaming angry son!!! but he is okay now and back to sleep but I can't! so I am catching up here...I love this place it automatically lowers my high bloood pressure when I am logged on. Can yall believe it s basically summer now...schools around here are getting out next week,I think on weds...summer school at the high school starts the day after Memorial day on the 29th...brandi has already signed up to teach summer school because you really can rake in the $$$$ teaching summer school and then again some kids are the juvenile deliquints of society so you really should make $$$$ for putting up with that. during the reg school year she teaches Gifted which is a level higher than advanced kids...but she teaches Shakespearian stuff...and the kids are usually good although she has told me she has the rep for being a very hard teacher...but she is fair this is her 2nd year teaching and she actually already won teacher of the year( in the whole county out of 15 schools)...which is really hard to get but the students vote...alot of kids thinks she is one of them because she is so tiny she is only 4 10 actually and I am 6ft 1..so I guess we are the odd couple...anyhow sorry for the ramble but I do hope everyone has a good sat!! wwhat is anyone having for breakfast? I think I am going to have a bagle with honey nut cream cheese! hmm!
WHAT i only know 2 ways of making tea and thats to put a tea bag in a cup or to put a tea bag in a teapot and put it on a ring. am i missing something ????
oh stop that shelliegirl, you are a doll....a sweetheart too!!!!
my kids enjoyed watching them when they were younger, my daughter especially. My 2 year granddaughter has been watching some Christmas movies here at my house lately. She picked out, To Grandmother's House We Go, yesterday. She loves watching the Olson twins since they are close to her age in this movie.
I hope you all have a Merry Day! :hi:
was wondering the same thing, i thought that was the way you make tea.WHAT i only know 2 ways of making tea and thats to put a tea bag in a cup or to put a tea bag in a teapot and put it on a ring. am i missing something ????
brad i don't want to upset you but my 20 year old is the same way.will put everything off to play his ps3. i guess @ his age he could be doing worse things though. hope things calm down w/ your son. i do understand your frustration.Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!
We had WWIII at the house this morning before work. My 14 year old son insisted that he didn't have to go to school today. The upper school students only have to stay at school long enough to take finals this week, but since he had all A's, he exempted taking finals. It sounded ok until our daughter said that she was told that today was a regular 1/2 day, then they could leave.
It turns out my son was wrong. He was supposed to be at school, but they debated it so long that he was going to be tardy. He has just enough tardies that one more makes it roll over into an absence even if he goes to school. Since they were not doing any real school work today, they suggested just keeping him home. So he got his way anyway. But I told him that if there are ANY repercussions on his report card, I'm taking his XBox for the whole summer. That's the only reason he wanted to skip out any; to play that doggone XBox.
Ugh. Sorry, I had to get that out. I hope y'all have a great day!
well i would made but, it's already soaked in because it was so dry here. we did get alot though. sorry dude! Can you turn on the fan and blow it this way? We never got the rain that was promised for sunday.
Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!! It's a warm one here in central Indy with a temp of 80 degree's right now. I'm babysitting my youngest niece right now while my sister is on a field trip with my older niece. They where going to the zoo. Luckily my niece is being good today. She even took a 2 hour nap. That's rare anymore. I'm also trying out my food dehydrator. I have one tray of orange slices in it right now to see how it does. The main reason I bought it is to make apple slices and orange slices. I'm thinking about doing a really rustic Christmas tree this year decorated with dried fruit slices, salt dough, felt, and wooden ornaments. I'm not for sure yet but that's where I'm leaning right now. I just feel a need to change it up this year for some reason. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good afternoon, MMC!!
Just wanted to stop by & say hi while on my lunch. Hope everyone's having a nice Tuesday so far!
I ordered an animated & musical Mr. Christmas Chime Clock last week, and I can't wait to receive it! I've really wanted one since I saw them on QVC last year. They had the ice skaters, ballroom dancers, and train. I decided on the dancers. For awhile, I wanted the Mr. Christmas Nutcracker Suite, but I couldn't justify spending the amount they want for a brand new one. Then, I saw this clock & liked it even better, for @ half the price. Anyways, it looks like this: View attachment 1233.
I plan to have it be my Christmas piece that I keep out year round. I do have other Mr. Christmas Winter Wonderland pieces that I display w/ my village, and love them.
You can set this clock to chime every hour, and play a different Christmas carol each time. They also have year round songs, too. Should be really beautiful!!
It's really hot here =( High of 100 today, windy, sunny, and dusty. That's what I get for living in the desert, huh?!
Oh well, we won't be here forever. I look forward to four seasons again!! I'm yearning for Fall & Winter so badly!
Enjoy the rest of your day, friends!
Hope it's wonderful & Christmassy!!
A friend of mine passed away, his father went to wake him up this morning and found him dead. There have been so many deaths around here lately, it's very sad. I especially hate hearing of someone so young passing. It really gives meaning to the statement that life is short so live it with no regrets and not to waste time fighting and being angry with people.
I just went out for a bite so now that I am home I am probably going to get some work and cleaning done. I hope everyone is having a good week so far, I am going to try my best to be around more!
The main difference between loose teas and bagged teas is the size of the leaves. That's what effects the resulting cup of tea. Tea leaves contain chemicals and essential oils, which are the basis for the delightful flavor of tea. When the tea leaves are broken up, those oils can evaporate, leaving a dull and tasteless tea. Typical tea bags are filled with the tiniest pieces of broken leaves, called fannings. Loose teas are typically whole leaves or at least large pieces of leaves. On top of the leaf size, there is also the space factor. Tea leaves need space to swell, expand and unfurl. Good water circulation around the leaves is important, which doesn't typically happen in a cramped little tea bag.
So a really great cup of tea can only come from getting your tea loose instead of in bags. You can get a wide variety of teas in bags, but there are many more to choose from if you shop for loose tea.
Soooo, to get a great cup of tea you have to go to an actual tea room where they know how to brew it right, or buy loose leaf tea to enjoy at home. You will be amazed at the difference in flavour.
Ok, stepping off the soap box!

One of our cats is very sick right now, our oldest cat Milo, who is 14 years old, we brought him to the animal hospital, and right now they don't know what is wrong with him, he has dropped a lot of weight, he won't eat, he won't use the litter box correctly. My wife has had him longer than she has known me, she is really distraught about him, please keep Milo in your thoughts and prayers.
good evening ya'll!!!
did anyone hear about the lawsuit about the song Christmas In Dixie by Alabama?
some dude in Australia is saying they stole his lyrics or something. our radio stations here even played a portion of his song & then Alabama's song. i didn't think it sounded anything like theirs. heck that song is like 30 years old now. seems like a statute of limitation will come up on that claim. some nerve. hello!
had an ok day @ work, work's work.
my son's fiance is kind'a graduating tonight. i say kind'a because she actually has to go through December to complete her courses but to be able to walk w/ the grads she had to do that tonight. i sent her some flowers today since we weren't able to go. we are so proud of her, she works so hard & studies even harder. i truly hope she, one day, becomes my daughter. i'm sure she will be.
love, hugs, & smiles all around!!!!!!:gift:
