Hey everyone! Just stopping by to say hello. Hope you're all having a nice week and you're having a great time at the Pines. DH has been working 48 straight because of overtime, so I am hoping when he is home tomorrow, he can get the Internet figured out. Miss you guys!

Wow! Happy anniversary! How are things, otherwise?

Today is our 30th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe. We spent Sunday night in Gatlinburg, TN just to get to get away for a couple of days. Weather was clear but hot. We did go to the 'Incredible Christmas Place" in Pigeon Forge. I always feel better just walking around there.

June 1 is the anniversary of the tornado, the National Weather Service just announced that a county west of us, and New York State is in a tornado watch until 9pm tonight, it is too close to home right now. The anniversary has been stirring a lot of emotions around here, and to have this now 3 days away from June 1 is freaking me out a little right now, once again just like last year I won't be home if things change. Now I will feel very stressed out at work tonight.

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. I now have two weeks off chemo. Hopefully my energy level will rise later on, probably by Saturday. Is tonight's dinner at the Pines calamari or CARLamari? Either way, I'll be there. TTYL!

I did a quick Google to see if I could find a website with info on how to date the ornaments, but I couldn't find anything that comprehensive. I did find a reference that said the metal tops saying "Shiny Brite Made in U.S.A." are post-WWII, and another that said Shiny Brite stopped making glass balls in 1962. So they're somewhere between 1946 and 1962. (I know, that doesn't help much!)

Wow, I didn't think they were that old. I only found that one picture of them I posted yesterday, the boxes don't have any dates on them all they say is: Lunissa Lunissa Max Eckhardt-Shiny Brite, Poloron. I will take those pictures when I have a chance. (I am still waiting to pick up my antique sleigh, that is nearly 1 year ago )

A quick shift at work tonight, came home and watched the overtime of game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, Kings won. I am sleepy and 5:30 will be here to fast, but I am trying to catch the news, they are doing a story on my town 1 year after the tornado. Just want to here what they have to say. My aunt who lost her home in the tornado just finished rebuilding and they moved back into their home last Tuesday. Slowly everything is getting normal around here.

I have you tubed your towns tornado of June 1st... it's simply incredible and it just makes you realize that if your home is in the path of a monster storm like that there is really nothing you can do but pray.! good luck on getting through the one year anniversary! will be praying for you!:gift:
