Last night we were at one of the local colleges for my daughters graduation (from High School) during the peak of all the tornado watches and warnings that were being sent out. We were all fortunate that with all the severe storms that did hit us, none of them formed into any tornados. (I can tell you that while we were sitting inside that arena dome, I could here the rain and the wind howling outside and the whole time sitting there, (in the back of my mind) I kept thinking to myself; "Lord , please do not let any bad happen tonight". There was almost 550 Sr's graduating last night, so needless to say, there was alot of families in that arena.

Everthing went according to plans, and my daughter (my little girl, "daddy's girl") has now graduated from High school...."sniff", and has just left with her older brother to head down to Ocean City, Maryland to stay there for a week with 5 of her girlfriends in a room. She's a really good girl, loves school (she averages between 3.8 and 3.9 GPA) honor roll, etc... But I'm still a little sad, It's the first time that she has ever been off on her own, and I'm sitting here, worrying, like a nervous ninny.... and I know and realize, that as much as I have to learn to let go, this is, one of the most difficult things as a Father, that I have ever done, is to start letting go..... She looks at me like her Dad is as tough as nails, But when it comes to her, I melt like a marshmellow on the inside. It makes me sad (sitting here thinking) knowing that's she's growing up....

As a footnote here, I do have one thing that makes me feel a little better, that is her older brother will be down there as well (a few blocks away) and I know that he will keep an eye on her.

Your words are so heartfelt....and even tho my daughter is only 6-years-old....I know how U feel....I will have to work hard on myself to let go one day...which of course is necessary....I will not like it...but we have to let our loved ones go.....so they can come back to us :D...........
btw....congrats on Your daughter´s high school graduation....way to go

Good Morning MMC!!!! We are going to start warming back up here in central Indy with a high of 79 today. I don't have much on the agenda for today. I'll be heading to church here soon and then it will be home to watch some nascar. I don't know what time my sister and her family will get home but if it's early that could change my plan. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, MMC!

Hey everybody!! How's it going??

Wedding season has kicked in big time now with 4 weddings on Friday (getting home at 8pm ish) 6 weddings yesterday (getting home at the same time) 2 weddings tomorrow and working every weekend now for 8 weeks, one weekend off and then another run. Next weekend I get to work Saturday AND Sunday - actually, that might be the week after........ How wrong is it that they are all morphing into one big wedding??!!!!!

Bruce is now in Disneyland Paris and will be until October. He is in charge of the Snow White ride which is scary enough to give him some street cred!!! He's just eternally grateful that it wasn't "It's a small world"!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping to get over at some point this summer but given my wedding schedule, I don't know how.

There are a lot of Diamond Jubilee celebrations on this weekend for the Queen. In a few minutes, there will be a flotilla (1000 vessels - kayaks, dragon boats, schooners, tall ships etc plus the Royal Barge) down the River Thames to commemorate the occasion, tomorrow night there is a huge concert to be held at Buckingham Palace (the tickets were a lottery and guess what? I didn't win that lottery either!) and Tuesday will have the coach procession (think royal wedding but just focussing on the queen). The rest of the country has tomorrow and Tuesday off but we're working. Yay. Yes, that was sarcasm!!

So, I'll now stick some laundry on, go get some groceries and get stuff ready for tomorrow.

I must've been particularly evil in a previous life..........!!!!

Have a good day, dears!!!!!!!

Good morning!

Hope this finds everyone doing good! Last night, the wife and I went out to eat and just kinda hung out. She loves to go get Baskin Robbins, so I took her there. It was a good night with a great woman....I'm a lucky man.

Right beside Baskin Robbins, there is a Hobby Lobby. We fought the temptation of going in. We are just going to wait a few more weeks and let more stuff get out. Made, you are the lookout. Let me know.

Now for the count......:)

Days to the Season: 163
Days to Christmas Day: 205
Almost there...200 days here we come!

Crown, thanks. Back to you....

Sorry, Coach... I am too lazy to make breakfast today. I am a bum! I was too lazy to even jog today. I feel like doing nothing!

I'm on it!!! Thanks for the doing the count while Crown was gone.

Seawaters- I hope you are feeling better today!!!

I cannot believe you are being treated like this. Of course, it's the nice thing for YOU to do. What about the nice thing for your boss to do? I am whining right along with you!

I am really not enjoying what I call a job anymore. I feel used and unappreciated. I keeping getting asked to do extra and then do not get paid for it.(I was told it was expected because it is the nice thing to do) There is an excellent conference coming up for caregivers, my boss asks the therapist to go (she could not) but for some reason she does not think I am good enough to go. Makes me wonder why I do what I do.
I was kept so busy I now have to miss the volunteer BBQ where I was to be presented with my 15 year pin and certificate.

OK, I whined enough, thanks for listening.

Just pocket change for you, huh, Made?

It's amazing how much change you can find when you clean out underneath your car seat!!!!!!

Your love for your daughter is so beautiful & touching. I can hear how proud you are by reading your words. What a great Dad you are!!

Congratulations to her on her graduation!!
Does she know what she wants to do next?

I've been living away from my parents for 10 years now, and we talk at least 3 times a week, and see each other 2-3 times a year. And that's still not enough =)

we are watching that on TV right now. To bad it started raining.

Was surprised to hear the orchestra playing "What Child is This?" nice to hear a Christmas song, but wondering if that tune has different words in England.
