Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good morning, dear Christmas family !

It is actually raining a little here as I sit and catch up on posts and drink my coffee. Clancy is on top of her "house", Wish is on the back of the love seat snoozing and Hermione is playing with one of her toys. Smokey and Lily are about doing "kitty things", (climbing, etc) and I am of course typing.

I got quite startled last evening as the phone rang at 10:15. I HATE when the phone rings at night. It always makes me think there is something wrong with someone. It was my sister just calling to talk as their power was out. I guess they had a HUGE storm with hail and all. It completely missed us though, which is very odd because usually when my sister's area gets hammered with a storm we usually do to. I am just so glad she and Wes were safe.

Back to work for me in just about an hour and a half. But it's okay, just today and tomorrow and then the weekend. I can't WAIT until next Friday. I am hopefully going to get a shot to get these allergies under control again. It has been just horrid since the shot wore off from last time.

So excited that the Hallmark Ornament premiere is Next weekend also !!! Hurrah !!! There are so many I want but not sure how many I will actually get. I hope the weather is a little cooler that day and that my sister and I have fun.

I don't have any plans at all this weekend. Just trying to stay cool. How about everyone here ?? What are you planning this weekend ?

Made - You asked about the fuel lines on my husband's truck. I guess they do have to replace all of the lines and the quote they gave my husband on the fuel pump was $500 Plus. Still I think that is an outrageous amount to fix something. But what can a person do ? We can't afford a new vehicle right now.

It sounds like everyone enjoyed their 4th of July yesterday. Once again I just stayed in because every time I went out it felt as though the heat was crushing me. I walked around the yard a couple of times with the furkids. I wanted to get Wish back inside quickly though with his poor little heart the way it is and my breathing being like it is right now so we did not stay out long.

Seawaters - How are you doing these days ?? I hope okay. I worry about you so xoxo

XMas - Those headaches are concerning me also. Have you always gotten "heat" headaches ??

It is raining here, too - a good old thunderstorm!

As to weekend plans, I was supposed to go to a graduation party and then go to the big fireworks show in BC (something like 50,000 set to go off in 50 minutes), but with the heat of the past few days I am behind where I would like to be work-wise, so I will be working. I might have to go to the store, too, but it will be a quick trip for necessities only.

I am so glad that Wish is doing so well - I will keep him in my prayers!

I DO NOT like hearing the phone ring late either. Scares me to death! I think something bad has happened. I hate to think that way but people don't have a habit to call me late just for the heck of it. Glad your sister was okay!!!

Last night while we were watching fireworks at the lake I saw a few people bring dogs and worried on how it would affect them. Sure enough someone almost lost their dog after some went off and the dog tore off toward the street. I thought of Wish last night and was hoping, with the way his heart is, that he wouldn't be frightened by any fireworks going off around you. (If there was any?)

Lucky we got it before someone else did and also glad it didn't rain last night! He had a missed call from work! It was just a reminder for him to come in early.

Good morning, MMC! I slept in, laid in bed, and just got up to drink coffee. For the first time in YEARS, I am watching "The Price is Right". Ah, the memories that come flooding back when I watch this show, even with Drew Carry being host. I can remember being little and being sick from school watching "The Price is Right" before watching the Young and the Restless....well over 20 years ago. I'm pretty sure that I could watch the Young and the Restless next and still know what was going on!

Anyways, I'm about an hour away from getting up and packing. I'm going to try to get here before I leave, but if not, then I will see you in the next few days. Have a good one!

I was thinking the same before I read everything but same thing when I was in school and would be home sick I HAD to watch The Price is Right with Bob Barker! My favorite show!

As far as soaps, I DO NOT LIKE THEM AT ALL! Sorry soap fans. Even if they are on in another room and I hear the dramatic music playing I can't turn the channel fast enough. I tried MANY times to watch them so I could keep up with what my friends were watching but just couldn't get into them. Not criticizing those who like them, it's a me thing!

happy 4th of july everyone ! It is so hot here and i know in many places across the us. I just cant believe it ! It is like walking into an oven ! That being said, and you are all going to know i am completely christmas crazy with this, does anyone know if hobby lobby has started selling christmas trees yet ?? Although i just got a new one last year which is beautiful, it is a "pencil" one or thin one and i am looking to get a full tree. They had some very nice trees last year in the summe but i can't remember what month it was.

we truly have a remarkable gift in this forum. I posted a couple of things in a forum for transcriptionsts and i cannot believe the rudeness of some of the people !!! We do not have that here at mmc....everyone is very respectful of one another and i thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kindness to me. Nothing makes me feel worse than rudeness when all i did was ask a question.

i'm stuffed, we just got done eating. Had way too much food!! We did mushroom cheeseburgers & hot dogs, baked beans, pickles, and chips. I made a ranch pasta salad, but we never even touched it. We'll be having leftovers for a bit.

it's raining here!!! Yay!!!!!!!! Only happens a few times each year. We're in our monsoon season until september, so we'll see more clouds & rain this time of year. Thank god! We need it.

what a great day! The parade was great, jp had fun. The temperature on the blacktop down there was at 110*f while the air was 86f. My headache came back, but i came home and laid down in front of the ac for a bit before starting the grill.
Back to work tomorrow. Blecch!

aww... Thanks! I'm not an expert at staying positive, and definitely have my moments, but i when i'm down i try to remember the good things in life and throw out the "junk"! (sometime the "junk" tries to creep back in)!

I did see a few dogs that were not phased by the fireworks at all. One dog took a nap! That was funny!

I felt horrible when I got home. There were a lot of people shooting fireworks off in my neighborhood (which is illegal) and my dogs were frightened out of their minds! It ended around 10:30 and they slept well afterward. All is good now!

I didn't sleep a wink last night! The fireworks were so loud, they sounded like they were hitting the house! And the ghetto bird (Police Helicopter), as Adrian calls it, was flying low near our house last night- don't even want to know what that was all about- it's never good.

Harlowe wanted to go out in the middle of the night, so I went downstairs to let her out, and found fireworks on our lawn/patio area. They weren't ours...made me nervous to go back up.

Hope everyone's furkids did ok with them- Har wasn't really scared, but she was antsy. She couldn't sleep, either, so it was up & down from the bed all night. I think we'll all crash early tonight!

Work is very quet, it's like a ghost town around here. It'll give me time to do some catching up. Better get to it.

Good afternoon, everyone! I had such a nice relaxing day yesterday. My husband went to his niece's house, and I had the whole day to myself. The neighborhood was so quiet-all of the rowdies must have gone somewhere else this year. We were going to go downtown at night to see the fireworks, but it was so hot we decided to just stay home. This turned out to be the better choice; all the neighbors had fireworks, and it was almost as good as a professional display. All in all, it was the best day off I've had in a long time.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!!! Is it Monday yet? I don't think I've ever been so excited over a predicted high of 89 before. My brother in law brought my niece's into me this morning so I got to sleep in a little bit. Which is good because it was close to 4am before I got to sleep last night. I was shocked that the ban on fireworks was actually followed so well around me. I heard a few people put off some small fountains but none of the big fireworks like you would normally see. It didn't really seem like the 4th of July though. Well I'm off to do some more work around the house. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
