Well, the first day was spent rafting on the canoe. I'm not as young or as good as I once was, but I gave it heck! With this huge cut on my leg and the bruise on my ribcage from where i landed on a rock, I'm pretty sore. Really sore. Tomorrow we are getting on the lake, so it should be easy......I hope.

Don't hurt anything important friend!!!!!!!!

That is a good idea! What CD are you going to get?

I haven't decided yet ... I've been too busy to review my Amazon wish list! I'll let you know!

I would love to have an old-fashioned bicycle, but nowadays it would have to have a John Deere seat or one just as wide!!!

Oh, c'mon, surely you exaggerate!!
When I was a kid, my dad bought an exercise cycle with an enormous seat. "Wow!" I said, "an elephant could fit on that seat!"
"Watch it!" he replied.

see there merry....if you weren't so good @ what you do they wouldn't earmark stuff for you.

i do hope you find a bike you like. i love those kind you're talking about. none of the bells, whistles, speed, & shiny bits just a regular bike. my daddy comes across them sometimes & i always take them for a spin around before he sells them.

Yes, that's true. It was a slammin' workday, though. I came home and took a nap for about half an hour until Mr. came in.

I think I've found a plain-n-simple bike I like, but whether I still have enough strength in my legs to pedal a one-speed and whether my ol' body remembers how to balance are big question marks!

Here is another picture of Gaylord Texan Hotel lobby at Christmas time. That will be a great place for all of us to stay for our Christmas gathering! Isn't it beautiful?!

Holy cow! I think there's room for all of us to sleep in the lobby!

The movie, The Deliverance, just started as I was reading your post about being on a canoe. (It's on AMC). I hope you didn't go on an adventure like that!

The Dueling Banjos just started!

Sorry Coach! I should have finished reading your post before I quoted you. I hope you will be okay!!! Take it easy and heal up!

I remember when I got my first job at napa and had to be on my feet all day. My back killed me for a about a week but then it got better. My recommendation. Good shoes and gel insoles.

I am starting to feel better too, back not nearly as sore today. Feet a little better too. I will make it, just have to keep pushing! When I get my first paycheck I am going to get a good pair of shoes for sure!

I'm been listening to Christmas music all day while at work; I going to stay in my cool mode and crank the AC at home and watch the Polar Express tonight!!!

now that sounds like a plan xmastidings! enjoy yourself friend!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I am being very lazy today due to the heat. I am now over half-way through the book Solice mentioned in an earlier post, The Forgotten Garden, by Kate Morton - it's good!

I hope everyone is having a good day and staying cool!

please stay safe in this heat meceka. i worry about you, stay hydrated too.

well ya' know what they say about riding a bike......

you will do fine merry!

The jet is fired up!!! All aboard. Hmmm. Now we just need to get someone on here who owns a hotel. Maybe that will have to be a grand prize for some sort of contest!

if they have a hot tub, come and get me too!!!

I had another thought: maybe they would let us be night security and we could take turns sleeping there! One of us would stand guard at a time, and if we weren't sleepy, we could shop!!!

sounds like a good plan!

We have the Gaylord Texan hotel here that really does it up for Christmas. Here is their lobby. Wayne and I drove out there last year on the way to the mall but they had something going on that day and the traffic was bad. We decided to skip it. We are not too far away from it so we will probably go this December. We have talked about staying there sometime. You can get a room overlooking the lobby.

Come join us too, MerryMistletoe!

wow, that is beautiful! I would love to come and walk there

Okay, who wants to buy it? Shall we all go in together on this?

yes, yes, yes!!

well i think i'm in a pity party mood.
why is it i feel like i'm in a house w/ strangers. no one does ANYTHING i ask of them w/out an argument (or atleast hostility).
i wanted to get so much done around here today since we are having people over tomorrow for a late july 4th celebration. sighhhh

my brother, sil, & a friend came over this afternoon to hang out @ the pool. my hubby had told them that was fine but that we would be inside working. when they got here he was finishing the mowing & weedeating & just stayed out there w/ them...sigh again!!! the kids managed to do their chores but, like i said, not w/out fussing about it.

later i asked 1 of them to go to the grocery store so that i could bake a few things tonight for tomorrow. it never happened, everyone wants the fun but no work. uugghh!

sorry for the rant but i have to vent some where.
my goodness where's Christmas?:tree::tree::tree:

ahhhh, so nice to just sit down and relax!
Got caught up here. love catching up on the news.

I have Monday and Tuesday off and am looking forward to not haveing to get anyone a sub!

Going to look for a vehicle with my brother, I have been using a friends car for which I am very grateful, but I really need my own again. He has a line on a red mini van...red is good, reminds me of Christmas!

Have a great evening everyone!
I am going upstairs to streatch out and relax and see if I can get some reading in before I go to sleep!

Good Friday evening, my Christmas friends!

Gosh, I can barely keep up with the posts! I've been on the go here in the mountains. I stop for a few minutes to try to get caught up, but it just doesn't happen.

We're having a great time, and staying on the road. Another busy day tomorrow, then home on Sunday.

Y'all have a great night! cheesy

Okay now! You have my interest from a 30+ years die hard Beatles fan!!! I have seen a few tribute bands, who are you going to see??? To think you forgot about it? He he! I count down the days to see anything to do with the Beatles! =)

A group called Beatles For Sale: [youtube_browser]arJOZJeOzzU[/youtube_browser]

I have loved the Beatles since I graduated high school.

Good morning!

Another day staying home because of the heat. I have to keep changing the outdoor fur kids water as their bowls are heating up so fast the water is undrinkable. Poor babies! I have several cats and kittens missing. I hope they are just hiding out in a cool spot - that is usually what they do during days like these.

Right now it is comfortable in the house - the northern and western windows are open and cooler air (less than 86 which is the indoor temperature at the moment) is flowing in. I also found a fan we had used years ago and it is going in the kitchen. I was so happy it still worked! I'm trying to get as much cool air inside as possible before I shut all the windows. I also found a box fan, but it needs major cleaning and I have to unscrew the front and back to get at the inside. Unfortunately, the house gremlin seems to have hidden all the screwdrivers on me

Take care, Christmas family, and stay cool and hydrated!!!

:snowball:

I hope you find the missing kitties soon.
