It seems as if everyone enjoyed the double special occassion. 'Pines and Christmas July on the same day?! It doesn't happen often!

It was a special day and I enjoyed it all!
The Pines looked beautiful and the eggnog was great.

It is a hot and muggy one here right now ~ does not bode well for the evening when storms are likely to hit. I have been drinking a lot of coffee today as I don't want to sleep through any storms so I can take care of Bo. Looks like a storm moving in now, but I don't think it will amount to much other than much needed rain :dance:

For all those in potential severe weather areas, please stay safe!!!

Good Morning All!

I got a Christmas in July present yesterday! Well, kinda--Audible gave its members a free novella for CIJ. You could choose between 4 or 5 short books. I wonder if any other company did a similar give away/promotion yesterday?

Like I said yesterday, today's a special day for me. I've started a tradition of giving myself a present on this day--something related to fitness, health or exercise. That's usually an exercise DVD, but this year I gave myself a series of ballroom dance lessons! Just me, my husband rather firmly bowed out. I'm a little nervous but excited too!

Thursday hello! We're expecting strong storms later in the day---they're even mentioning the T word (and I don't mean "thunder"). I hope it doesn't get as bad as that.

Still working on the scratchy throat. It's no better, but it's no worse, either. So maybe I'm doing something right.

Expecting a hefty proof job early, so TTFN.

Tornado watch less than hour away from here, I feel so anxious about it.

It's starting to get dark here (clouds) I took down our umbrella and moved our grill to safety. I hope this thing will miss us. We are in a severe thunderstorm watch until 11pm.

Watches down here are for the heat. Heat index hit 110 today. Still, I have been through worse. I remember a heat index of 116 when I was in Wilmington back in the late 80's. I walked outside and had a hard time breathing. That was one day I will never forget.

hey y'all!! had an extremely slow day @ work. bummer. ended up leaving about 50 minutes early due to a migraine. not sure what's going on w/ me & my daughter...we both are experiencing an unusual amount of migraines the passed 2 or 3 weeks. total misery. y'all have a good night! love, hugs, & prayers!!!:sparkle:

Phew, I hope this holds true, good news for us MerryCarey and Rachron:

Nick Wiltgen, weather.com Meteorologist: SAK - unless something changes dramatically and unexpectedly, Massachusetts will probably not see much severe weather. The severe storms will be passing through the southern 2/3 of Connecticut, as far north as Hartford.

I am 30 miles north of Hartford. But it is awfully dark here.

Long day today, getting ready for inventory tomorrow at work, which I have to work a split shift.
The weather anticipation has been pretty anxiety bringing, I've been checking weather constantly. I hope you all are safe, going to watch a flick and thumb through the Lakeside Christmas catalog again.

Had a very nice day. Picked up mom, then went to London to pick up my daughter and a part for my van. Then we took back roads to my brothers place near Paris. On the way we stopped at a few stores and thrift shops.
Came home, dropped off mom and then Jeannine surprised her brother and sister by being here. We had a nice supper and then drove her back to London.
Home again and enjoying some quiet time.

Good morning, MMC! How is everyone today? I am well. I just have a lot to get done today, so I am checking in quickly and taking a break.

I am going through a bunch of the kids clothes - DS's clothes from day 1 - woozers and EA's from the past 2 years of fall clothes - even more woozers! It's making for a busy day, but I have to get it done. I am taking them to a re-sale shop tomorrow and what I don't sale, I will donate.

Tonight is my night - thank goodness! I need it greatly. I very tired already, which I guess I should be. When I came home, I thought about laying down for an hour or 2, but I just pumped in more coffee. Since DH is working tonight and it will just the kids and I, it will be bitting in the butt tonight!

Well, I am going to go for now. Talk to you guys later on!
