Just wanted to say hello and I'm looking forward to chatting about my favorite holiday. As a matter of fact we're heading into my favorite time of year right now. The months that end in "ber". Holiday time to me starts when football begins and the leaves start to change and the days get a little bit shorter. I relish the oncoming cold (and snow) and get happier and happier the more chilly it gets. That means its time for fall camping, warm fires and crisp afternoons with low hanging clouds, apple cider and pumpkin patches.
I love to burn fall and Halloween scented candles from now until November where I switch into the Christmas and Thanksgiving scents. And for me Thanksgiving, as wonderful as it is, gets the short end of the stick because my tree goes up the weekend before Thanksgiving. Why? Because I have a 2 year old and very little time....and my tree takes 17 hours to put up. It's not even a real tree either I just go nuts making it perfect.
It has hundreds of Hallmark ornaments on it, 15 strands of lights, a dozen strands of clear beads, garland, candy canes, crystal icecicles, and the final glisstening touch, 5 packs of tinsel. I tweak all the lights so that they perfectly accentuate each ornament and glisten through all of the crystal ornaments and my Frosty Friends. I check it from all angles and make sure there aren't any lights of the same color too close. I tweak it the entire season, arranging things I notice and changing out burned bulbs.
