I agree, I think my brother walks plenty but he loves that running! I would be too tired after a day like he has. UPS drivers work so hard and put in long hours.

My aunt owns a UPS store. Christmas has always been her favorite time of year but since she has owned that store she can't enjoy it as much since it's the busiest time for her. She is so busy now!!!

That's too bad that she can't enjoy Christmas so much anymore. Christmas is definately not my hubby's favorite time of the year just b/c of how busy they are at work. But thanks to all you (& me...hee hee) online shoppers! Job security! :smile:

It went great! We had too much food, plenty of beer, lots of friends, family & neighbors came & went all night....and of course some came & stayed...til 1 am! :lol: I didn't get up to walk this morning, so I don't feel too sleep deprived! It was a good night & I think he had a good birthday! He was surprised to come around the corner & see all the vehicles in our driveway/along the road & his guy friends cooking over his grill in the front of our house!! :smile: Everyone brought their kids & they had a blast! Fun night! We should do that every Wednesday to break up the work week! Ha ha!!!

First back to school was exhausting. It was so hot I could hardly stand it. My group of kiddos is the most talkative group that I have had on the first day of school EVER!!! Guess it's time to bring out the chains or something! Maybe duct tape! All in all, it wasn't too bad a day.

Oh boy...it could be a noisy year in your classroom!! :smile:

Last night I was so tired after working in my classroom, that I was almost in tears at dinner. I finally had to break down and take a pain pill. So, today I decided I had to take one right after the kids left the classroom. Now I feel like I can enjoy our Chinese dinner out!!!

Good afternoon/evening mmc
I really need a drink i think tonight and i just might do that
Its just been one of them days that nothing i did or said was right
And the weather is really bad over there. the rain is pouring down all day and the wind is really strong. it feels like a day in november but its very humit
Our town was really quiet today and i closed at 4pm. i hate the weather we are having its always raining.
My brother and sil(the one that left him ) are never of the phone to each other and the 2 kids dont like it as they think they are gonna get back together again and they will not be one bit pleased so am listening to each from all ends.. they both cant do a thing for them selves. they are on my case. on there daughters case do this do that..
Sometimes i just feel like getting in the car and staying away for the day.
Suppose am just feeling a bit down.am so stressed out i can feel my chest tight and my head spinning but tomorrows a new day..
So i have decided am gonna pour myself a drink. turn the phone of and watch a christmas film .

And of course that all furbabies are good.. hugs to them all

Again, I am glad for the reminder because I usually do something for the King of Rock n Roll every year on his birthday and anniversary of his passing. Somehow I forgot about it until you mentioned it!

My anniversary at work is on his birthday January 8!

I am going to watch a lot of the Elvis marathon on TV and listen to some Elvis Christmas music!

It's almost time for school, but I wanted to check in. I am getting stronger every day, but it really is taking a lot of time. I have always been able to bounce back quickly, but this time it's almost kicking my behind! I agree with what has been said about Made. In addition to his positive attitude and IT helpfulness, he cracks me up every day!!! Bradmac, glad to see you back. I was getting worried. I loved what CAH said about your yard! Now, if we can just get her to the doctor!!!

It's supposed to get chilly here this weekend. Love of 51 tomorrow, some stations saying it could dip down into the 40's!!! Not ready for that yet!!!! But a big bonfire sounds darn nice!

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a warm day here with a high of 92 here today. It also looks like we will get two rounds of storms today. The first around 3 and the second around 8. I was really hoping that I would be headed to the lottery office today to turn in my winning powerball ticket for $350 million but I only managed to get 1 number. The winning ticket was sold up around Meceka though, so maybe she has something to tell us.

I'm finally back on MMC! For more than a week I couldn't access MMC from my work computer, and I rarely have time at home. I was really feeling the withdrawl symptoms. Luckily, Made reminded me that sometimes our IPs get blocked, so I sent an email to Jeff with my IP address, and voilà! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm still feeling good, walking mornings and evenings, and enjoying my family.

I was trying to change the blades on my mower yesterday afternoon, to no avail. Even an impact wrench running at 100 psi couldn't turn the nuts to loosen the blades. I sprayed them with lubricant, and I even heated them with a torch. No luck. Guess I gotta take it to the shop.

It's a shame; the mayor has the WORST yard in town!

I highly doubt that! But you do have appearinces you must keep up, Mr. Mayor! :lol:

so glad you are back, we do after all need out mayor to keep things running smoothly here.

Do what we did with the lawn mower...thorw it out and get one of those push mowers, much simpler!!!

Peanut Butter, Banana and Bacon on toast...
Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons peanut butter
• 2 slices white bread
• 1 banana, peeled and sliced
• 3 slices cooked bacon
• 1 1/2 teaspoons butter

Directions

1. Spread the peanut butter on one side of one slice of bread. Top with sliced banana, then slices of cooked bacon. Cover with the other slice of bread. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich.
2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Fry the sandwich on each side until golden brown and peanut butter is melted, about 4 minutes total.

This will do wonders to your waist line and Heart!!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone!

I attemped to post yesterday, but I don't think I was able to. All these days are blending together! The weather here is real nice. The sun is out and it's not too hot. And, we're now more than halfway through August. Temperatures are certainly calming down a little here in Ottawa.

A little bad news on my part. My position ends tomorrow. Again, I will be jobless. My job search didn't stop when I received this position - as I knew it would only last for five or six weeks - however, I haven't heard a whole lot on that front. I've said it many times - it would be nice to finially have a consistent career position, but apparently I have very little going for me right now. The teaching market is saturated, I'm not bilingual - which eliminates about 90 percent of the government positions - and my teaching degree makes employers very uneasy to hire me... since they think I will leave at the first chance of a teaching opportunity. I have bills to pay!

Thanks to Crown for unveiling the next milestone! Only nine days away!! Everything is coming up so quickly! Before we know it, we will only be four months away from Christmas! And, in less than a month, we'll start seeing signs of Christmas pop-up in various places. These times, they are exciting!

Lunch is nearly over, so I should return to "work." Have a great Thursday, everyone! The work week doesn't have much left in it. Friday is fast approaching
