Good evening Y'all

well it's that time again where everything is quite and still in my home. Everyone is asleep and dishes are done. and here I am, typing to Y'all. My cousin had her baby today, all 6lb 14 oz of him he is a handsome lil thing that ya just wanna hold for hours and hours! then this after noon we was called in to be told that our Aunt by what the dr told us has about 6 months to live. they did a special scan and she has stage 4 cancer in 4 different places that they could clearly see. and she is the one who had a 2nd stroke right after pop did in feb. sooooooo now we wait and spend as much time as we can with her. this breaks my heart but I'm keeeping my head high and diving head first here on MMC and Love Of Christmas on FB. I'll just keep myself busy. well I'm going to call it a night See y'all in the AM have a good one!!!

Surgery for the dog should be in two hours from now! His levels were at 4,000 before and they needed them to be at 30,000-60,000 to operate...he is at 200,000! They said his levels are at the lowest amount to be considered normal for a dog :] Hope that is a good sign! They need to give him some blood since he is so weak, and if he gets stronger then the surgery will be soon!

Morning Merry Makers! It's the first time I am posting on this thread so I hope i'm not intruding! I just joined a couple days ago.

I am all the way over in England. Autumn is moving in briskly now. The leaves are falling, it's getting colder and the days are becoming a hazy shade of grey.

So excited for the christmas season to begin!

You are not intruding at all! Welcome!!! :grin: Sounds like Fall is moving in at your house! It's bight & sunny & 80's here today, but rain & 60's is the prediction for tomorrow. HOPEFULLY Saturday will be a gorgeous day (as predicted) for my brothers memorial bike ride!!!!

I think the bicycles turned out really cute!!! She did a good job! (my SIL decorated the bicycles for me) They are nothing fancy, but now you can tell that they are bicycles. I don't know how you decorators do it! What a neat talent!
Make sure you post pictures of yours. Brussel sprouts I wouldn't know where to begin!!!

I start the brussel sprouts by getting a few of the real thing, I have the bases done and the first layer of leaves on. Each layer needs to be colored before the next layer can be added. Each one will need about 5 to 6 layers to get it to the right size. I will be making 17 of these. I never ever looked at these little vegies so close before LOL. Not really that hard to do, just takes a lot of time because leach layer has to dry before the next can be added. I love the challenge of seeing how close to the real thing I can make them.

This reminds me of the email I rec'd yesterday about cutting an onion in half & putting it in the room where you are sleeping or spending a lot of time. I have 2 friends who swear by this. Onions supposedly absorb germs & help you heal quicker. Anyone ever heard of this or try it? One friend could not get rid of the cold/flu germs in her house. She cut onions in half & set them around the house & everyone got better, quickly. Coincidence?? I dunno? Maybe worth a try?!

onions cut and beside me in a bowl....so far just making living room smell like onions! Will let you know how it works.

Well, I was hoping I was going to get through all the posts before I leave work, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen! I have to leave right on time today b/c my pooch has an appt. at the vet at 3:45. He has something funky going on with his eye, & his allergies are terrible. Poor guy. It always worries me when there is something wrong with my 16 year old dog - you just never know what the vet might tell ya! But he seems pretty healthy other than a few little things so I guess I'll see what they have to say! Say a little prayer for my Buster! :smile:

My brother & SIL are flying home from Cape Cod right now! Hopnig & praying for safe travels for them! (they are flying in my bro's 2 seater plane) Can't wait to see them tonight!!!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

My mom had shoulder surgery yesterday, so I was at the hospital all day. The doctor said it all looked good, and I brought her home last night. I talked to her this morning (my aunt stayed with her last night), and she says she's still feeling good. She starts physical therapy tomorrow, bless her heart.

Glad she is in good form after her surgery.. goodluck to her

Our Kohl's is about to start putting out Christmas. I am going to make a trip there @ lunchtime tomorrow to check out their new St. Nicholas Square village houses. *Can't wait!!*

All Norway has been looking for a 16 year old girl that have been missing
for a month now. They found here yesterday - murdered.
It's terrible. Two men are arrested (age 37 and 64(!))
Poor girl.. Are not looking forward to hear what happened to her...

How awful. I hate hearing about these kinds of things. Praying for this family.
