Pickle Juice huh? I'll have to try that! Which pickle juice works the best, Kosher style, Deli stlye or bread and butter pickle juice?

Hey I got one here for you all, I have a habit of when I make a dish of something, cook something on the grill or what ever, I'll eat up everyting and put just a small amount of the leftovers in the fridge to save for later on in the week. That drives my wife nuts, because first, it uses up her tupperware and second, there's all these little meals in the fridge, using up space.

So, today she asked me can you do something with these, with her hand on her hip? I said Ok sure thing, (now, to know me, I hate to throw food away and I also love - just love leftovers. I think sometimes the meals taste better the next day after it has been sittting in the firdge....) So, I grabbed the two hot dogs that was in one container, grabbed the tuna fish that was in another container and some chopped onions that was in a third container and looked at them thinking what do I do with these?:-?

Then the light bulb lit up... I turned on the oven to 400, grabbed a couple of hot dog rolls from out of the freezer, warmed everything up in the microwave and yes ladies and gentlemen, I put the hot dogs in the rolls, topped them with the tuna fish and the onions and covered them with cheese. Then I placed them in the oven....

Yes, as I thought to myself... A Tunadog Melt!
The look on her face as I was eating them was a Kodak moment....Mannnn, were they good! Now that's using your head and filling your stomach at the same time....

ok am lost again(it has to be the irish thing lol) so are you saying you buy the pickle juice on its on and drink it.. or you use it to put eggs, onions and so on in.. you no the way you can buy say a jar of picked onions. can you drink the juice from that ???
And yes pig feet i agree there

ok...no i'm pretty sure pickle juice is not good for you as it has lots & lots of salt in it. the vinegar would be, but not the salt in it. over here we buy jars of pickles in the store or make them @ home. it's cucumbers sliced, quartered, chopped, or speared that are already in the juice when you purchase it or; when making them you make the liquid, put the cucumbers in & then they set up for a certain amount of time & then you eat them. lots of peeps, including my daughter, will then drink the juice left over when the jar is emptied of the cucumbers(pickles).most common brands are Mt.Olive & Claussen. i've never heard of anyone drinking the liquid left over from pickled eggs or pickled sausages. i will tell you that most pickle juice you drink is from dill or kosher pickles & not sweet or bread & butter. i guess most peeps like the tanginess of it.

Hey gang! What's everyone doing today? I will give you a guess on what I'm going today....

watching some football and celebrating 101 days to Christmas...with pizza! I'm just really getting here today, so I'm going to be around for a while trying to catch up since Wednesday. it's been hit or miss, so I don't want to miss anything.

I'm so excited about tomorrow. It starts this little countdown that I follow (but don't enjoy as much as Crown's) called 100daystochristmas.com. It's really neat.

Tonight, it's nothing for us. Wife told me I could watch whatever I wanted, so we might watch Polar Express later...be careful what you say....

And here's another reason to yahoo:
Days to the Season: 59
Days to Christmas Day: 101

The rain in Spain may fall plainly on the grain,
but it cannot be more plain that tomorrow will see the grand opening of the 100-day Window to Christmas Day 2012 and the start of our accelerated count, where both of our figures will be down into double digits.

are we still doing the countdown tonight?

hey y'all!!! good saturday evening! i'm about to take daughter to a friends house for the night. this will be her 1st time going any where since May when she got into some trouble. that may sound like a long time but i do not play when it comes to certain things w/ my kids.

xmastidings-i agree w/ star, no offense, but a tunadawg sounds disgusting to me. i would eat it separate but never together dude.

shelliegirl- i think it's so cool you asking about pickles & stuff from here & i would love to know some stuff about there. ya' know, like the kinds of stuff y'all snack on & enjoy eating there.

nothing planned this evening. maybe i will be back from taking daughter in time to catch the greasy skillet tonight.
i did have a wedding this weekend, the flowers & colors the bride chose were very pretty so i hope it all turned out nice for her. i went to school w/ the bride's mom. she used hydrangeas in purple & white, white roses, white stock, lilac & purple carnations. all the variations of purple w/ the different shades of white were very nice.

kind'a concerned about letting daughter go tonight but i have prayed about it & had a very sincere talk w/ her so i hope she'll be ok. all the kids had alot of fun @ "scarowinds" last night. i think daughter got quite scared. the place is called Carowinds but @ Halloween they change it up a bit. Carowinds is like Six Flags. i've told y'all before how "large" my boys are right? well they were actually too tall for some of the rollercoasters. i've heard of being not tall enough but never too tall. lol. my son,Seth, is afraid of heights like me but my other son,Will, talked him into going on these swings. the tallest swings on the east coast. Seth said he was scared to death until they finally got to the top & started swinging around, he said it was nice then.

hubby's in the kitchen doing his weekend meal. burgers & mac & cheese. he does alot of cooking on the weekends. my b-i-l is over watching football w/ the guys. he plays w/ all our dogs so they just jump all over him when he gets here.

well, i've rambled on enough, i'll talk to y'all later. i'm about to leave now.

Hubby has a Class Reunion tonight out at the golf course. I am not looking forward to it because of the pain. I cannot get more meds until tomorrow morning. I guess that's where some wine comes in handy. TTYL

Yea, I know, it does sound a little weird, but it definately sure was different, I'll have to admit to that. I was sort of thinking outside the box just a bit...lol...

It sort of reminded me of a scene in Friends, where Joey was eating a dish that was by default a mistake where everything was combined into one dish. Joey was eating it saying, "What's not to like? Meat, gooood; vegetables; goooood, pie; gooood....) lol....

he went to school on a golf course!? How cool is that!
Will pray you have no pain...or were you meaning his former class mates are the pain?
Whiskey works great on pain, at least that is what they use in the movies.

Hahaha! No, the golf course has a caterer and it is a much nicer building than a high school cafeteria!!! Some of the classmates can be pains because they act like they are so much better than others. But I was really talking about the other pain!

Crown, when do we start the Christmas Blossoms thread? I forgot.
No set time, but definitely before the end of the month.
Currently, I'm waiting for the "A Christmas To Remember" shop to open at Crabtree so I can launch the thread with my traditional picture!

LOL
hope it gets better soon!

Forgot to mention...
I had a mammogram yesterday (my routine one) thought of you and how everyone woman over 50 should have it done. So if you fit the description, what are you waiting for???
Here in Ontario we are blessed to be a part of a program that provides them for free every 2 years, so we really have no excuse.
