I hope you stayed within the lines. cheesy
Wow. I bet there weren't many dry eyes in the church. You were blessed to have a dad like that. I hope I can be that kind of parent for my son.
did amazing work on those pumpkins! I love watching these competitions, always get at least one good idea from them.I've been watching Halloween Wars on the Food Channel where teams have to concoct whatever Halloween theme they are given with a momen't notice !! It isn't strictly cakes but there is cake involved and it is amazing what these teams come up with !!! xo
Good Monday morning everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends.
We had a very good weekend. The Casting Crowns concert Saturday night was great. We had a very nice day at church yesterday. We have Sunday School at 9:45, Worship service at 11:00 and finally Sunday night service at 6:00. Just enough time in between services to eat lunch and watch some playoff baseball.
Back to work today. Temp was 45 this morning with some light rain. We are forecast to reach 50 for a high with a low of 38 tonight.
Sure hope Accuweather is correct with their winter forecast. They say we will have "much above normal" snowfall. Here is the link...

Good evening MMC! I hope everyone is doing fine. I woke up this morning with a thought that it's already a month and one day since I came to Scotland, and it's already my 4th week at the university. I thought 'How quickly time passes'. It really does. :] I had only one lecture today but my lecturer was frightening us all about our final assessments. It really made the things even worse as knowing the fact I had already been scared about exams and essays at the end of the semester. ^^ Anyway, the good news is I already have my tickets printed for my flight to Lithuania for Christmas.
Have a good evening (or day) everyone! gif[/IMG]

It really was, and it even had a nice surprise. The new windows were too expensive for Nancy and me to be able to buy one. At that time she was home with the kids, and wasn't working at all. Anyway, after I read the dedication for our family window, I sat down. Then they called me up again. Apparently, Dad bought another window with Nancy & my names as the givers.
He's been gone 7 years this month, and he's still surprising me.

Here's a WalMart link for Courageous: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Courageous-Blu-ray-DVD-Exclusive-Anamorphic-Widescreen/19490416
I own all four movies they've produced, and I buy mine directly from the church here http://sherwoodpictures.com/
The answer would be no. Thanksgiving is strictly a North American holiday. It was started to give thanks for a strong harvest that would help our first settlers make it safely throughout the cold winter months in the new world.
thank you everyone for the Thanksgiving greetings!
Undrtakr, love the pictures! Got home from our dinner and realized I totally forgot to take pictures!
We had a great dinner with family. Enjoyed turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, brussel sprouts, meatballs, cauliflower, pickled beets, onions and pickles. For dessert we had pumpkin cheese cake, pumpkin pie, rhubarb, strawberry pie, apple crisp and buckets of whip cream, and ice cream.
Mulled apple cider, tea, coffee and assorted cold drinks were used to wash it all down.
We talked, played with the kids, talked, played games, talked, arranged the family Christmas party, talked, closed the door to the living room because the guys were talking louder than us women in the kitchen!
In other words, we had a great time!
Good evening,
I am very tired tonight, rough day at work getting caught up from a busy weekend. I was running like a chicken with its head cut off most of the day. I did get some great news today, almost an early Christmas gift if you say. My vacation time for the week after Christmas was approved, so I will be off from 12/25-1/2/13 I was shocked it got approved, since they have been so adamant against vacations in December for the last year or so. I am so ecstatic about that right now. Just watching Jaws 2 now, probably won't make it up for QVC tonight.
Have a great night!
I have to take one daughter home and pick up the other one from work, so I am going to sign off now because I want to go to bed when I get back.
Good night CS....
Good night MMC think I will turn in soon too
Made, I am not sure if it's just my computer but when I hit "read more" the link didn't work. I will try again later.
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it working now. Hmm... Interesting! lol
Thank you for the prayers and thoughts. It can be tough but she is still getting around. Even with the cancer, mom can out walk my dad who has emphysema.
Sorry you are forecast to miss most of the winter weather. Weather forecasts are often wrong so you have hope.
Lord willing, we will be visiting our parents in Gastonia for Christmas. My brother, son, and I will be walking through your hometown of McAdenville, (Christmas Town USA). Kind of a family tradition but can't get my wife to walk the 4.5 mile round trip.
Hey now how are y'all doing... Today is a little cold and raw here; we have today off for Columbus Day, so I decided to honor our Northern cousins and have a "mini" Thanksgiving Day... As it is Monday night there is Football Texans at the Jets, I have Turkey Breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, almond string beans, and Apple turnover... Mini Turkey Dinner... With all this "talk" of Thanksgiving I was aching for a dinner like it...
I am going to attempt to read what I missed over the weekend but that is easier said then done we sure have a lot of posts how cool is that though!!!!
...
I can't wait to read if you liked it!!! I am having a "Mini" fest today we are having our bottle with it tongiht so at around 6:30 EST I will toast you my CA / MMC friends.
Tee hee - right it sounds better then my menu for sure!!!
YAY!!! Me too SW!!!
Hmmm, 2004, Hmmm, 2004... I was very sadden by that baseball year... No we in my house have never forgiven the Yankees for such a debacle... It was a hard lump to get over, don't know that I am...
...
