We took our grandchildren to the State Fair of Texas last night. My 3 year old granddaughter was fearless and wanted to ride EVERYTHING, even the rides she was not tall enough for. We went to one ride (as pictured below) that looks very scary. She wanted to ride it really bad but as soon as a scary clown stepped out on the balcony (where the eyes of the skull is) she said, "I don't want to be with him"! She decided not to ride it because of the clown! I can't say I blame her but funny that the ride itself didn't look scary to her, just the clown!!!

It was crowded last night but we had a blast! I laughed so much with the kids when we rode rides together. Fun times!!!

OMG! That is scary & that is so awesome!!! Glad you all had a great time!

the amount of mail i had to deliver was alright...the problem was....there were lots of catalogues....which make the bike very happy to drive.....so my legs are horribly tired

I hope you got a good nights sleep & you are feeling better today!

I'm glad you finally know what is wrong ~ I hope the meds continue to work for you! Congrats on the weight loss, too, that is very impressive, esp. since the holidays are coming up. Take care!!! {{{HUGS}}} for you, Wish, Clancy, Hermione, Lily and Smokey!

I agree... I'm glad you finally have a diagnosis & I hope with meds you can remain pain free! Great job on the weight loss! That's awesome!!! After my brother died I slowly put back 10 of the 30 lbs I lost over 3 years ago...so I am working on getting them off BEFORE the holidays!!! Congrats to you! Keep it up - you (we) CAN do it!

Welcome back ~ we missed you, too! I'm still doing tomatoes, too ~ the garden is done, but I have boxes full of green ones that are slowly ripening. Enjoy your beautiful day!

Thanks! I do have a few green ones in the basement too! I can probably go out in the garden & get some more green & partially ripe ones if I decide too! there is a bunch out there!!! Oh how I love tomato season, but I feel like I'm about done with putting them up! Lol!

Thursday hello ... :-)

OMG!!! I haven't even caught up but I had to tell you all what happened last night... Hubby & I flipping channels waiting for the Yankee / Tiger game (that was ultimately canceled) but anyway at 8:00 PM my door bell rings, I live in a condo that is gated so we figured it was just one of our neighbors, I go to the door and nobody is there!!! BUT!!!! Wait for it........ A plastic bowl filled with candy and little nicknacks with a note stating You've Been Booed!!!! The note reads....

You've Been Boo-ed!

The phantom ghost has come to town
To leave some goodies... I see you've found.
If you wish to make this a happier fall...
Continue this greeting, this phantom call.

First, post this Phantom where it can be seen,
And leave it there until Halloween.
This will scare other Phantoms who may visit.
Be sure to participate, you don't want to miss it!

Second, make two treats & two copies from
(this is were the website link is)
Deliver them to two neighbors, try to stay calm.
Don't let them see you, be sneaky, no doubt
And make sure they put their Phantom Ghost out!

Next, you have only one day to act, so be quick!
Leave it at doors where the Phantom hasn't hit.
Deliver at dark when there isn't much light...
Ring the doorbell and run, and stay out of sight!!

And last, but not least, come join in the season.
Don't worry, be happy, you need no good reason.
This is all in good fun and we are just trying to say...
Happy Halloween & Have a Great Day!

They have a website and everything, I wasn't sure if I could post the link if it wasn't allowed or anything so if I can let me know and I will in the Halloween section, if not maybe we can do it via an email or something... This has to be the cutest thing ever!!!

LET THE HOLIDAYS BEGIN I'VE BEEN BOOED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a wonderful idea: random Halloween acts of kindness!

OMG, OMG, OMG!! Chad has a white shirt on!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody call an ambulance. I think I'm going to pass out from the shock.

Binger will never believe this.

saw the first christmas commercial....for Lindt Chocolate.....no need to say I was ecstatic

Oh boy oh boy I just love their chocolate!!! I saw my 1st one or sort of 1st one the other night, it was for Macy's and a customer & an employee were listing all the jeans they had style & fits for and the customer says how about elf fit, the employee goes yup and a little Christmas elf comes running by!!!

Yummy is right!! Have fun! I bet they'll be some Christmas tunes playing, too?!
[
Hugs to you & Snickers, my friend!! xo

You know it Snowflake!!! Right back at you (((HUGS))) to you & Harlowe!!!

Good afternoon everyone. The wife and son came back from the church youth trip Monday night. (wife was one of the chaperones). They had a great time and grew closer to each other and Jesus Christ in the process. I missed them but it was nice to have some alone time.

Fall break starts at the college tomorrow so I have a 4 day weekend. I worked in private industry for 25 years and now with the college for 5. It is a nice place to wind down a working career. My wife and son still have work/school tomorrow and Friday so I will have the house to myself during the day.

Hope to enjoy some time outside. Weather forecast is nice with highs in upper 50's/low 60's and lows in upper 30's. In between raking leaves, I may even watch a Christmas movie.

Have a great afternoon everyone.

So glad to read they have a wonderful time and good for you being off always nice to enjoy the time outdoors!!!

feeling so festive and also really looking forward to halloween! so many christmassy days out planned, shame they cost so much money, but what can you do? i'm going to try not to stress about it. i can still have a wonderful christmas on a careful budget.

going to cook a lovely roast pork dinner this sunday and stay in all day watching christmas films. i just LOVE this time of year.

Yummy roast pork!!! That sounds lovely; enjoy Sunday dinner... I set up a budget too as I feel I can really go overboard if I don't

I sure hope you find enough good pictures for your album, that just sucks....
found a picture of you on line

Now Valerie is on and the item doesn't have glitter on it. I don't know if I can take this.

A Mr. Christmas item being presented without Leslie? What is going on with QVC today.

Yes, you enter a new time zone!!!

Hello all!

Another day come and gone...they seem to all go by so quickly now! Is this what married life does to you?? =)

Had a semi-busy day...I went down to the DMV and got my new license card with my new last name! It is still so weird to see it printed on documents, mail and cards now...I have to keep reminding myself that *I* am that person now!! So weird. I then went to Target to buy cards and a gift for my "nephew"'s baptism Sunday, a card for a friend's wedding Saturday, and another for some close friends' anniversary. After that, hubs and I went to his parents' for dinner and to show them the wedding pictures. His mom didn't think they were bad but understands our frustrations over all the pictures not taken and the blurriness of the ones we really liked. We are still getting pictures in from friends' phones and others are coming forward and saying they have some from actual cameras, so hopefully we'll have everyone's soon. This whole process is just...so...frustrating.

I am also thinking about doing my first 5K on Thanksgiving morning! I have been wanting to do one for so so long and I figured...why not now? Sure it will probably be horribly cold but if I can do one in the cold, there's no reason why I won't be able to do ones in the spring, summer, and (earlier) fall!

Anyway, Sangria just jumped up on my lap and is impeding my ability to type comfortably, so I suppose that means I should go to bed for the night. The Pines was a blast tonight, I must say! =)

Goodnight, Christmas family! <3

This is beautiful, and no matter how many times I have seen it, I, too, get goosebumps!

Good morning/soon afternoon =]

I just have to share this, even though you might have seen this before

Fantastic!
Goosebumps and tears in my eyes :-D

You are so lucky!

Hope you are all well, I have a day off work so internet Christmas shopping it is. Also hotel searching for my annual Christmas trip to London, got tickets booked for ice skating at Winter Wonderland which should be good fun :???:

And there's the glitter!!!!!! Drink up!!!!!

The treatments themselves aren't too bad. I have to hold my position for about 20 minutes, so that, of course, is when my nose or eyes itch!!! I am tired a lot, but I keep plugging along! The lymphedema will be a problem, but I will go to the clinic as soon as treatments are over. I should finish up the last Friday of November. Doesn't that sound like fun: driving 140 miles round trip five days a week for (now) six more weeks? Oh, well, lots of conversation with Hubby!

happy anniversary to you & your hubby! how are you feeling w/ the radiation treatments? thinking of you too friend!

glad to hear more & more peeps are coming forward w/ wedding pics. good luck w/ the 5k!

good morning doll!

no these trees are all artificial. good luck w/ your clothes shopping. sounds fun!

thanks for sharing this solice, i really enjoyed it!

oh this sounds like such fun!

LOL!!!! Now Dan is doing his impressions of all of the characters from Rudolph.

I love those candles, too. But I do like the strong ones for my classroom--lots of sweaty bodies!!!

I am looking at yankee candles right now. Last year I ordered a couple sampler of the christmas season candles and we loved them (besides the one that cinamon flavor was way to strong). Now I would like to buy a couple of the middle jars. Unfortunately they are pretty expensive and I am not able to buy them on foreign stores.

This sound like so much fun. I haven't been in London but I would like to go someday. A lot of my friends have been there and liked it a lot. Enjoy your trip!

I like clothes shopping but only if I go alone. I'm not one of those girls/ladys who go with a cluster of friends and are chatting away. But you are right, buying clothes for other people sure is fun. How is the weather in norway? Do you already have snow?

We have a artificial christmas tree since three years. The real ones are great, but there are very expensive because most of them have to be importeted and my dad thinks it is a shame to buy a real one only for a couple of days. My sister isn't very happy about the artificial one, but it looks very real. Unless you go very close to it you don't see that it is artificial.

MerryMistletoe, I, too, would get that message about the wrong size and couldn't figure out how to do it. If I could get past that part, I think I could get some pics on here!

well.....actually everything i've learned about computers has come from my kids (sad, ain't it?) back when undrtakr showed me how to post pics, i could get them on here but then it would say they were the wrong size or something & i haven't the faintest clue what to do about that. i think i need the computer handbook for dummies.lol. the kids get so out done w/ me when they are trying to show me how that they end up doing it for me..it's a vicious cycle. lol hubby will show me & the way he does it sometimes it'll work & sometimes it won't.big bummer!

i did manage to get a very few on here but that's it. girl if i could, i would have pics all over. so just wait till i learn....look out! hehehehe

Yep, it's already gassed up!!!

Seawaters- Can I borrow the jet? I just figured out they have a lodge there and a campground!!!!! The fact that they tell you to bring an electric fence if you are camping is a slight turn off but hey, if you haven't faced down a brown bear you aren't living.

Wow! You have been busy! Congrats on becoming an aunt again!

Thank you! He is SOOOOO cute!!! His "big brother" (1 1/2 yo) is so cute with his new brother too!

Happy Pines Day, everybody! Hope you had a great day! Busy here, as usual. Got some great news today...we are getting an extra day off for Thanksgiving! AWESOME!!!! I really enjoy the days around Thanksgiving and will love to have an extra day to celebrate!

We have the Thursday & Friday of Thanksgiving off. It's so nice! I'm happy that you get to enjoy it too! Awesome!

I am going to be behind for the next 6 1/2 weeks because of radiation, but I will try to get caught upon the weekends. We get back so late, and then it is time for dinner and chores. I will try to check in in the mornings as many times as I can. We were able to get into the doctor's early (4:50 p.m.), but we stopped for dinner on our way home to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. I think of y'all often. TTYL

(((Seawaters))) Thinking about you! I hope & pray everything goes very well for you! Happy Anniversary!

My family does our own "Turkey Trott" (5k) on Thanksgiving morning! The 5k's around here all start too late - we have cooking/baking to do, a parade to watch, etc...LOL! So we go early in the morning & then back to our house for coffee & muffins. It just makes ya feel better to get some exercise in the morning, then you can eat all day! Good luck!!! Have fun!

Good morning MMC! I am trying to read through the posts from yesterday but I keep getting interupted! Lol! I wanted to say good morning before it's afternoon! Ha ha!

Here are some pics of the afghan I made for my SIL! I hope she likes it! I named it the "In Memory of Mike Afghan" It ended up being 50" x 75"

The blue is for September, my brothers birthstone
The green is for August, my SIL's birthstone
The rust & gold are for November - their Anniversary &
The red is for love:
