Well, the fact that we are really closing in on Christmas Season 2012!

Days to the Season: 25 (Barely over 3 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 67 (Just over 9 1/2 weeks!)
Happy days, indeed!

Some rain fell yesterday, following an afternoon in the low to mid 70's.
Should be warm again today, then a bit cooler for the weekend, but still nice.
We read 65 degrees here, currently, with a light rain falling.

Good morning MMC! I am trying to read through the posts from yesterday but I keep getting interupted! Lol! I wanted to say good morning before it's afternoon! Ha ha!

Here are some pics of the afghan I made for my SIL! I hope she likes it! I named it the "In Memory of Mike Afghan" It ended up being 50" x 75"

The blue is for September, my brothers birthstone
The green is for August, my SIL's birthstone
The rust & gold are for November - their Anniversary &

On my way to bed. Everything is hurting right now but I just took my med so it will be okay. I am taking tomorrow off. I plan to work over the weekend some on Saturday and Sunday.....I just really need to be off on a Friday with my husband. We plan to take the old lights off our garland and put new lights on in preparation for decorating !!!

We pulled the kids out of school yesterday and spent the whole day at the State Fair. I must say that of all the fried treats we sampled, the deep fried Snickers Bar still tops them all just like it did 4 years ago when we last went. Yours truely decided to get on a whirley ride with my 8 year old even though I forgot to take any motion sickness medicine. Safe to say I spent the next hour layed out under a tree trying to keep my stomach in check. All that fried food in my belly didnt help matters any. Overall a great day had by all. Have a great weekend everybody.

sorry, i should've explained better. the tree is a large natural looking green tree w/ cones on it. all the ornaments are black, red, & white. some of the black is large snowman top hats about 1ft. tall. i am used to working w/ large ornaments that we nestle into the tree but all that black appears as a dark hole in the tree. then we have some black traditional ornaments & red & black stripe ornaments. i guess another thing is the tree is so natural looking & all that black just does not go together @ all. you should have seen us hunting throughout the shop for some bits of white to brighten it up. white twigs, feathers, snow flocked greens, just anything. we ended up stripping it back down & 1 of the girls streamed white mesh all around it & then we are gonna add all the other back into it. call me old fashioned but i do not like it. i'll move on to another 1 & let them do this 1. lol

That does sound strange ~ I hope the white mesh works!

I am sitting here enjoying a cup of hot chocolate made the keurig machine! I gotta get one of those, would be nice if they just let me keep this one.

Work sucked last night, I got stuck with the young woman who has no idea what it means to actually work. So instead of being done at 11 it was midnight before I was finished. AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Then she leaves an hour early because.....ready for this! because she ran for 12min earlier in the day and was tired. She left me with all the work to do as well as a line of customers!!!!!

Ok, better now, going back to my hot chocolate.

i am furious!!!!! why is it when you try to do something for someone they look to far into it & think you have other motives or are trying to point out their flaws????? do what?!! this happens w/ boss alot. on the phone trying to help her w/ something she forgot & she thinks i'm trying to point out her screw up! no, i'm not the 1 that does this....she is! she can because she's boss. do i look stupid??? don't answer that! i, in no way, shape, or form was trying to be ugly about it, i just wanted to make sure it was done. anyhoo....


let me tell y'all this, do y'all remember me telling ya' boss had bought BLACK, red, & white for our BIG tree this year? well we put it up today & OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! let's just say it's bad. i would have given anything (almost) to take a pic & be able to show y'all. she said it was all over the place @ the shows & markets this year. i don't care, it's horrible. maybe that's why it was all over the place...NOBODY wanted it!!! we always have really nice trees & decor in the shop. some of the other ladies even said they think it's the ugliest thing we've ever had. i'm not saying this cause i'm upset w/ her. we decided this before i ever spoke to her on the phone.

i'm gonna go cook some supper now. i just had to vent, sorry

Sorry MMT, that stinks... Black, Red, and white, hmmm... I haven't seen any here yet in the stores with this theme, hope things get better with the boss

Ugh, not sure the bitter taste of defeat agrees with me but far be it for me to not say CONGRATS to the Tiger's who have not won a World Series since 1984, not sure though who I will be hoping wins yet, depends on who gets in on the National League side

Good evening, everyone! Hope you're day was well! Mine was great - I love days off. DH and I are soon going to go wrap some gifts and then watch the Grey's episode from tonight I am currently DVRing. We are making a pizza right now - we ate a late lunch/early dinner and we're hungry again.

We went to Hallmark tonight and I bought ornaments for the kids, plus got the family ornament and I also got the one for our exchange. I got the perfect one for my partner. I know she will love it! I also got the 2nd book in the series, Jingle Pup, that was featured last year on Hallmark, for the kids. I loved that special.

Tomorrow, we're taking the kids to the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. DH parents are going too. EA is so excited. We've never had the kids there, so I am very excited for them as well.

Well, I am off to get caught up on some of the posts and do some other things. Talk to you all tomorrow. God Bless and keep smiling!

Oh my, I hope you all have a great time, I know I LOVE going to the Bronx Zoo here, it is so lovely in every season, I know some may think it is cruel keeping a wild animal caged, but another part of me feels if we didn't how much we would lose for some of the species I am sure would disappear. I know this may sound lame but what about adding "tuffs of cotton balls" ; you take the cotton ball and spread it out and place it on the trees branches it is suppose to simulate tuffs of snow, we do this on the rectory trees as we try to keep it plain we use that with red bows; no lights, or anything else - well a star at the top that is in white sparkly glitter (um, when we put that star on can I Drink Up!!! LOL) it sounds silly I guess but it does look really nice once it is all done up.

Sounds like overall you had a great time so happy for you & the family, maybe in like 10 years you and the kids will think back on that day a have a laugh when dad was down for the count after the whirley ride.

Friday hello ... Just checking in with my favorite people.

We're scheduled to get switched over to cable Internet tomorrow---wish me luck. Our "office" has no cable in it, so they have to bring it in through the floor. They said it'll be no problem, as long as there isn't a big stack of boxes in the corner or something. Uh-oh. I think we'll be moving some boxes tomorrow morning.
