The tree out front is not meant for wind. Our town planted a bunch of Braddock Pear trees years ago and they are reaching the end of their short lifetime. We lost MANY during a freak storm early last summer and some more during Irene. Mine is large and swaying from side to side... eeek. I could hear it tapping our bedroom window all night!

Like Star said. If it falls, I hope it falls away from your house!!!!!

Update ... checked my office webmail, and they've closed the office for the day. I don't remember them ever doing that before.

Heading to the airport in about an hour and a half. Flight is this afternoon. Looks ok so far but everyone said the ride is going to be very bumpy. Ugh. As long as I get home I will be happy. My college just said despite hurricane rain and wind we are still open LOL.

I hope it's not to bad!!!

I only caught the last half of the show but was blown away by the carvings!

I watched too and I thought both teams did really well !! I am glad Dead Men Walking got it though ! xo

Hi everyone! I have not been on here in a week!!! I have been very busy but we have been having fun! It's that time of year when we have lots of family things going on and will be busy from now until after Christmas.

Friday we went to the kids Halloween School Carnival, Saturday we went to Six Flags with my mom, daughter, grandkids and Wayne. My 6 year old grandson is brave this year and riding the coasters (he wouldn't in the past) but only wants to sit next to Grandpa Wayne, I guess he feels safe with him. My 3 year old granddaughter wants to ride EVERYTHING but she is not tall enough for the big coasters. My 8 year old grandson is riding all the big coasters and loves them. Sunday was church and work.

I miss you all and praying for those on the east coast. I am not sure if I can catch up on all the post from the week and hope I haven't missed any big news. Praying for all those who are ill or on hard times.

I signed up, through our company, with Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish. I wanted to try a cool language like Italian, but I don't know anyone who speaks Italian, so I'd never know if I was doing it right. :wink:

Yay!!! I was right!!!

I know how that goes Brad. I took 4 years of french and 15 years later I've forgotten 90% of it because I don't know anyone else that speaks it. So I never get to use it.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a cold windy day here in Central Indy. Right now we have sustained winds around 15 mph but that is supposed to increase to over 30 this evening and tomorrow with gusts to over 60. It's kind of crazy to think this is all from a hurricane that is still a couple of hunderd miles off the east coast. Stay Safe everyone and try to have a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have many friends and family on the west coast and they all felt it. Fortunately it was off shore so no damage done just a little shaking up.

My daughter informed me that at 1am this morning it snowed! (she was working the night shift) Would explain why it is so chilly here now.
I guess I had better get those snow tires!

Just dropping n to say I hope all our friends being hit by the hurricane stays safe and Im thinking of you all!!!

My girls are on half term break from school this week so im trying loads of halloween/autumn/winter fun activities for us to do, Ive got weds, thurs and friday off work aswell so makes for even more fun hehe!!!
We are statring today with making halloween cakes and biscuits!

Hi everyone!

I made it home safe - and just in time - last night. Flights are all delayed today, but thankfully we had a direct flight from Tampa to Ottawa last night. We hit a bit of turbulance, but it was nothing major. I can't talk much though. Busy at work. I hope you've all been wonderful these past few days.
