The smell of gingerbread and pancakes fills my house this morning.

Getting ready for this years gingerbread competition. I decided to use
"O Little Town of Bethlehem" as my carol theme. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
I am doing a modern twist on it and will post pictures when done.

For all my American friends....

I may be out of line requesting this, so if I am let me know.
My daughter, LittleCS has been going through a really rough time. She lost her job so did not join in the Christmas card exchange this year. She is so sad and I know some bright Christmas cards would really cheer her up. If any of you want to could you send her a card too? You can send it care of me and if I get any I will sneak in when she is not home and put them on her Christmas tree as a surprise.
Thanks in advance.

Count me in. Just let me know how to send it!

Good afternoon!
Thanks for thoughts and prayers for Thomas and his work.
He still have work! Thank God!
BUT it costs...

They have accepted lower pay, poorer pensions and more hours on the job. They can now work up to 60 hours a week!

He is so much away from the home.
And now he will be even more away. And less money will come in.
He will lose around 700 dollars each month!!

I don't think it's worth it..
Im the one home alone with six children. There is so much to do here.
And I would like him to be more home...

But, maybe in another life....
All in all. Im GLAD he still have a job...
And maybe, things would turn around someday..

......................My mother went to the Dr yesterday.
She got some new painkillers..
But she also got her self an appointment at the hospital next Tuesday.
So I really hope they will figure out whats wrong with her...
Thanks for all your toughts and prayers!
I'm sorry you have to deal with this, especially right here at Christmas time. Things are a little tighter around here, too, since the economy started sagging. My regular job has been going pretty strong, but my part time business is hurting.

I hope and pray your family and your mother see better times ahead soon!

She is still plugging along. The pain is gradually getting worse so she has to take more pain medication. They would like to give here a pump for pain medication but can't for fear of infection. The incision for the last major surgery, 2 years ago, still has not fully healed and probably never will. Thanks for asking.
We're still praying for your mom and your family, too.

Hello ... :-) We just got word that the office will close early tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath ... my department often has to stay later. Didn't get out early last year at all, even though the office closed at 1 p.m. Booo! :-? I want to get home early tomorrow to start putting lights on my new tree. Got some goodies for Thanksgiving last night (pecan pie!), and we'll be getting the turkey, gravy, and sides from Boston Market tomorrow night. Then the big feast day and all-out Christmas!

The smell of gingerbread and pancakes fills my house this morning.

Maybe you could combine the two and invent a recipe for gingerbread pancakes! cheesy

Good morning, Christmas family !

Just sneaking on here (Shhhhhh !!!) while I am working !

Solice thank you so much for your kind words concerning the rheumatologist. I will continue praying for Thomas. I know what you mean. When I took the job I have, I lost $800 a month but at least I get to pick when I work. Plus I pay ALL the taxes myself as an independent contractor. It is still better than the set shift I was working....

Made - There is a picture for you and Binger in the Christmas Blossoms Thread !! And Thanks again. Your directions were amazing !!! xoxoxo

Talk to everyone later xooxo:rudolph:

Well said, CS!

that is a lot to loose out of your budget every month! Having lived on so little for so long as a single mom I know it is possible, not easy but possible to live well on not much. You learn to do things differently. You find out there really are over 100 ways to cook ground beef and that cheap toilet tissue does the job just as well as the expensive stuff. Family fun days are about picnics in the park and board games in the kitchen.
Most important you realise that there is also no time for anger and resentment, it is a waste of time and energy and robs you of all the little joys available in life.
Keep your chin up and know that this too shall pass!

Praying for you all and hope your mom gets to the bottom of what is going on with her.

When it rains, it pours. Praying that the new meds will work. It is difficult to have to deal with pain.

Can't wait to see it! I think your turkey dinner should have won!

Good morning, all. It is overcast here in northern California again this morning. It is almost time to leave for radiation, but I wanted to pop in and wish you all a great day. When I return, I need to catch up on the Christmas-Song-a-Day thread. TTYL

Merry Christmas to all! And a little early Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and family. Just watching a Christmas Story 2 again. Its a good movie. Well, I like it lol. Tree is up, lights are on, day off today! Could it get any better? I was wondering. Anyone ever look into being a mall Santa? Its something I would be interested in, not right now because Im not at a Santa status, only 33. But down the road. I have plenty of Christmas cheer! We will see. When I finished stringing the lights William said "Oh Daddy you did a wonderful job". haha. Kids! Well back to my movie. Hope everyone has a great day!

a mall Santa would be a fun job! Have no idea where to look into that so I will ask a few people to see if anyone knows. You could try asking the person playing Santa at the mall now.

Look no further than our own Merry Network! YOU, my friend are ready for ClausNet ! Everything you would ever want to know about portraying Santa Claus can be found on the forums. There are plenty of Santas, Mrs. Santas and Elves ready to help you along in all phases of Kris Kringleness!

To be sure, the Merry Network, of which MMC is only a part, is a pretty neat place for all things Christmas! Though MMC is a great place to hang, one really misses out by not exploring the bigger playground!

Good afternoon everyone! My sister is back at work today, so I don't have front desk duty. Thank goodness! I think yesterday was the busiest day we've had in many a year.

Today after work, we (Sis, Mom, and I) are going to go have pizza, then buy fruit and veggies to decorate the altar at Church for Thanksgiving. I can't believe it's this Thursday already! Tomorrow, I get to bake 2 pies, and then pack for our anniversary trip which starts on Friday. Yay!

Just a quick hello - I didn't get a chance to stop by yesterday, after work I made the pie pastry dough and set my turkey to brine. Also, took out the linen and punch bowl set. I cubed the cheese and made the dip. Whew!!! busy!!!

Good Tuesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Today is Elizabeth's 12th birthday! It's also Nancy and my 18th anniversary! The whole family is coming over for Elizabeth's party tonight, then the whole family is coming over tomorrow night for our annual night before Thanksgiving supper. Lots of eating going on in Bellville this week!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
