Thank you for the compliment. I've been thinking about doing some more reading for LibriVox. I didn't do anything for them in the past couple years, and not much for MMC and MCR this year. I know I should get off my ... tail and do more. I had some drains on my energy this year that I hope won't be holding me back next year.

You could do it. The readers are all volunteers. There's no audition. You pick what YOU want to read. As long as you record something that's in the public domain, it goes in the catalog free for listeners to download. If something has been recorded before, they don't care---they like having multiple recordings so listeners have "a choice of voice." Go to librivox.org and click on Volunteer for more info, or click Visit the Forums to see what recordings are in the works. You'd be a fine reader!

I completely missed the live event, I got so caught up doing Christmas cards and then baking cookies for the rest of the day, when I realized/ remembered, it was too late and I was too tired... However, if I did it right, I did a recorded call in; not sure if it was tied into the event or not, but I hope that a podcast gets made from it; it would be nice to hear everyones voice...

I didn't get a chance to hear everyones voice this year, but I remember from last year, listening to MerryCareys voice, It is absolutely wonderful, a joy to listen to... Now I just have to hear a podcast of yesterdays event so I can listen to everyone else.

Hah - Andy Griffith! Brad your a scream man... That sort of goes in line with that picture I saw of you on that tractor (Green Acres....lol) :lol:

Good morning, everyone! How are you all today? I am well. Just sitting here drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying the kids. DH is baking some Christmas cookies and we've been helping - I've been trying to keep them entertained as well!

Not much going on here otherwise today. I work tonight (one day!), then I am off again tomorrow. DH works tonight too, so my sister will be here tonight to watch the kids. We are taking EA to a local theatre to watch a play - it's all about Santa, so I hope she likes it.

I was so sad that I missed all that partaked yesterday with the Christmas party, but I just couldn't make it in time. I did have a nice chat with Christmasstar over on the chat though. I enjoyed that! I hope everyone had fun!

Well, I am off to read more of the boards and spend the afternoon with my family. God Bless. We're only 8 days away - it's sooo exciting!

We had fun at the Christmas get together. Lots of good food and desserts. The wind came up just as we were leaving, and it was COLD! Now we are home, snug and warm. The chili beans have finished cooking, but we are going to have those tomorrow. Tonight will be snacking on leftovers since we are still full from this afternoon. I think I will put on my jammies and settle down with a Nook book. TTYT

Good afternoon everyone!

Busy. Busy. Busy! Boy, I have been busy. And, thus, I have not been around the Countdown for a few days. Friday was crazy at work. Kim and I managed to relax at home on last weekend eve before we both return to our homes for Christmas on Thursday and Saturday. Saturday night, we had a new gift exchange tradition with our close friends. It was a delicious potluck and exchange. We were busy all day, too. Kim had to purchase gifts and I had to find a new Christmas Sweater. I found a beauty, too!

Anyway, we didn't get home from the party until 3 AM. Yesterday, Kim and I sat around but we busy all day. The Packers game kept me from logging in to the Christmas Chat. Sorry about that. I hope you all had a wonderful time in the chat. The Packers clinched their division yesterday. It was great to see! There's still plenty to play for in the next couple weeks though. Two more wins and a 49ers loss could give the Packers a first-round bye. With that, I'm very excited to head home on Thursday and drive to Green Bay for the game on Sunday.

Well, time to get back to work. I'll stop by and respond to some posts later. I also have some photos to add to the Blossoms thread! Have a great Monday, everyone! Christmas Eve is only a week away. It will be yet another magical moment of the Season. Merry Christmas!

Good afternoon, everyone! It's a damp and raw 48 degrees here in Maryland, and it's very foggy....we need Rudolph to help us travel today! It's one of those days where you look outside and say "Gee, I'm glad I work inside!". We have all the Christmas lights and music going full blast in the office, and it's very gratifying to see the smiles on the patient's faces. They've been bringing in treats for us, and the back office looks like a confectionery store! Homemade cookies, and candy, and fruit. Yummy!

Blue skies but chilly here in northern California this morning. I will be working probably all this week sorting and storing some of my scrapbooking materials. It is hard to decide which materials to keep out so I can work on them. Decisions, decisions. Yesterday was a fun time at the chat. I did not spend a lot of time there, but it was FUN!!! I can hardly wait to hear all the Christmas greetings on the PodCast!

I still have one or two gifts to order, but it is okay if they do not arrive before Christmas. They are basically household items. My grown kids are easy to please since they prefer money and/or gift cards.

I will be checking in off and on for today when I take breaks from sorting. No matter what, have a great day!

Go for it, CM3! There are tons of public domain literature on Archive.org and Google Books. Pick one, read the FAQs, and start recording!

That goes for any of you: LibriVox doesn't require radio-type voices. Any accent, any language is fine. If you enjoy reading aloud, do it for the whole world! And every year they do a multi-lingual Christmas collection of short readings (less than one hour each).
