Shellie - I totally understand. I am not letting myself think (too much) about the let down after it's all over. The anticipation/build up is the best part! I shouldn't say that b/c Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the whole year, BUT the build up is just too fun!!! I just got back from a walk with my neighbor & the lights everywhere are so pretty & festive. I wish we could/would let them up all winter to help light up the dark nights!

Good evening, everyone! How are all of you? I am well. I just trying to get some last minutes things done. I am pretty much squared away and ready for Christmas, but trying to wrap up.

We are doing DH's family on Friday and then his extended family on Saturday, so I have to be preparded this weekend. I just have 2 gifts I need to wrap of DH's and those are for Christmas Day.

I work tonight and tomorrow night, then I am off for the weekend. I am looking foward to seeing Mike's extended family. I haven't seen a lot of them since this summer and some of them since Christmas. It will be a nice reunion!

Anyone else doing anything leading up to the days of Christmas? I can't believe we are less than a week away. We really anticipate this day and then it goes by so quickly. I hope I can just enjoy it.

Hope all is well with everyone. I haven't been able to stop around and really read the posts like I've been wanting to, but I know you all understand - I've been just really busy with my family and at work. You've all been in my thoughts and prayers, especially when I recieve your cards everyday! God Bless and keep smiling! Hugs to all of you, your families, and furbabies!

Sugar - I know what you mean! I wish I had more time to visit here during the holidays b/c I really treasure all the people here! But at the same time it's so nice to be spending extra time with friends & family at the holidays. I WANT TO DO IT ALL!

The remainder of the build up to Christmas entails: tonight I would like to go to the Legion b/c our friends are going there for a little gathering before Christmas but I have a feeling my UPS hubby is going to be too worn out when he gets home from work tonight. AND I have wrapping to do & cookie/candy trays to make & cleaning to do, & laundry & & &...oh ya - an afghan to finish! EEK!
Tomorrow night we don't have any plans that I know of but my brother/sil MIGHT be coming in from Cape Cod tomorrow night. Friday we are either going caroling with friends (weather permitting) or hanging with my family if my bro is home. Saturday we have Christmas at my Uncles - (my Aunt - Dads sister is deceased) - we get together with our cousins & my uncle once a year at Christmas - always so nice to see them. They are fun people. Sunday is Christmas at my in-laws. I wish I could say I look forward to this party more. They just don't get Christmas! Wish they did! :( I do enjoy going to my inlaws for Christmas...I probably enjoy more than anyone else there. To them it's just another day but they get presents. Bah Hum Bug! My inlaws live in a big ol farm house & it could be so festive...but like I said...to them it's just another day! Ok, off my soap box! Monday is the best day of the year. Christmas Eve at my Parents. Ahhhhh - can't wait...but yet I can! I'm just going to enjoy every minute! Ok...I really need to get busy!!!!

ENJOY the season!!!!!!
:merry:

I don't know if this a good idea after what happened the last time, but I've accepted Carl's challenge for a rematch in the Twinkie eating contest. It's going to happen in 30 minutes so get ready.

I remember that! It also started that twinkie food fight and everyone ended up with cream in their hair.

Those of us who love Christmas, as all of us here obviously do, are certainly in a catch-22 as December 25th rolls closer. We are the ones that post on here in September how we can't wait for Christmas...and then one week from Christmas we say, "Whoa! Slow down, Christmas!" :-D

I've just come to accept that every late-December I will reflect on the past Christmas, and feel I didn't...

...listen to enough Christmas music
... watch enough Christmas movies and specials
...eat enough Christmas baked goods
...spend enough time just admiring the tree and surrounding decor

And so it goes, and I make a pledge to do all of these and more next year; and then next year I reflect on the past Christmas, and decided I didn't ...

Just one of the many reasons to love the season, I guess!

I have always felt that once we hit around the 19th of December it all goes into hyper-drive, and before you know it it is December 26th, and another Christmas is in the books.

We Christmas lovers beg Christmas to hurry up when the leaves are just beginning to fall off the trees and the kids are returning back to school after a long summer break; then, come mid-December Christmas yells to us, "I'm here!!", and we ask Christmas to slow down, and ask why it's in such a hurry.

Poor Christmas, it must look at us as a silly bunch, indeed cheesy

What a wonderful surprise arrived at my house today.

some kind heart sent this to me. It is so beautiful, I love it.
To whoever you are , thanks and warm Christmas hugs to you!

Haha! Very true, made =0) She definitely didn't like the hail! When we got an inch of snow here, about 3 years back, she loved running in it & kicking it up!! Hopefully it'll be different for her when it sticks :-D

Happy Pines Day!!!! I can't beleive it's the LAST Pines Day before Christmas!!!! It is coming WAY. TOO. FAST! I have movies to watch yet, and more candy to make. And Christmas books to read. And wrapping to do. And visiting to do! Ahhhhh...and why does it happen that we (I) get so busy Christmassing that I run out of computer time to log onto my favorite Christmas website of all time!? Ironic!

I hope you are all doing well & loving this build up to Christmas as much as I am!! My hubby is working on getting a cold, so we need him to lay around on the couch tonight - take it easy & GET RID OF IT before Christmas!!!! Heck, before tomorrow! HA!

Hope your hubby gets well soon, Holiday!!

My Bro/SIL are supposed to be coming in from Cape Cod tomorrow or Friday. They are driving. I'm hoping they come tomorrow b/c we are supposed to get a snow storm/wind later tomorrow night/Friday!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the snow, but please let my family make it home 1st!!!!

Praying that they make it there safe!! :%

Have a great Pines-Day-Night everyone!!!!

:-)
