Those of us who love Christmas, as all of us here obviously do, are certainly in a catch-22 as December 25th rolls closer. We are the ones that post on here in September how we can't wait for Christmas...and then one week from Christmas we say, "Whoa! Slow down, Christmas!" :-D
I've just come to accept that every late-December I will reflect on the past Christmas, and feel I didn't...
...listen to enough Christmas music
... watch enough Christmas movies and specials
...eat enough Christmas baked goods
...spend enough time just admiring the tree and surrounding decor
And so it goes, and I make a pledge to do all of these and more next year; and then next year I reflect on the past Christmas, and decided I didn't ...
Just one of the many reasons to love the season, I guess!
I have always felt that once we hit around the 19th of December it all goes into hyper-drive, and before you know it it is December 26th, and another Christmas is in the books.
We Christmas lovers beg Christmas to hurry up when the leaves are just beginning to fall off the trees and the kids are returning back to school after a long summer break; then, come mid-December Christmas yells to us, "I'm here!!", and we ask Christmas to slow down, and ask why it's in such a hurry.
Poor Christmas, it must look at us as a silly bunch, indeed cheesy
