Thanks! I only work until 2 on Christmas eve. We will celebrate before and after. I get to work with my boyfriend, which is nice. I think in the morning we will open presents at my parents house and then go back there for dessert. After dessert with my parents, we will probably go to his parents. Take care as well

Merry Christmas to you & yours, nmc!!

Want to say a big thank you for the folks at the Merry Networks. The kids love the Santa Update site (I do, too!). We've already checked it today.

Well, we might have something rare here in Oklahoma: a white Christmas! Weather forecasters are saying we have a snow storm moving in on the 25th!

Hope everyone enjoys the last weekend before the big day!

That's awesome! Hope you get your winter wonderland!!

Hello everyone. Caninemom3, this one is for you! We have a new addition to the family tonight. We went and adopted a sweet little rescue dog from a local shelter. She was sort of a Christmas gift for my wife and kids (and me)...so we named her Holly Noel. Here she is...

What a beautiful girl!! And a wonderful life was saved. Congratulations to you & your family, Ryan!! And Merry Christmas!!!

Good evening, Christmas family

I am settling down now with the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol and hopefully soon to sleep. It has been a stressful few days with Wishbone in the hospital. The vet told me today that he is responding well to the aggressive IV therapy and is eating everything they give him as soon as they put it out. But I can tell he doesn't have long just by the the tone in the doctor's voice when he talks about prognosis.

I hope everyone has a very merry, Christmassy evening xo

(((HUGS))) to ALL especially:

Ella, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez, Ophelia, Sidney, Alex, Merlin, Snickers, Victor, Daisy, Diva, Mickey, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Chico, Meca, Alvin, Charlie, Gary, Bailey, Jerrold, Irving, Martha, Uncle Julio, Missy, Scooby, Sasha, Jacob, Cracker, Bunny B, Penny, Pocket, LuLu, Bear-Bear, Stripey, Holly, Fate Puppy (London,) Buster, Missy, Baby, Santa's Polar Bears, Sangria, O'Malley, Beau, Taz, Zema, Rizzo, Bella, Happy, Sam, Guinness, Holly Noel and all furkids everywhere xoxoo

Sending hugs & prayers!! It's a great sign that Wish is responding well to the IV therapy..This is the season for miracles, my friend. Harlowe is sending special puppy kisses for the both of you. Much love coming your way!! xo

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here but I'm more worried about Wednesday right now. It looks like we may see 6 to 10 inches of snow with 50 to 60 MPH winds. Basically a blizzard. Not Fun!!!! Mom and my aunt both have to go back to work then and that is the last thing they need to deal with. Today is going to be a busy day. I have to head to church here soon and then it will be off to deliver gifts to the family we adopted this year. After that's over it will be back home to cook. I need to make my macaroni salad, gingerbread whoopie pies, 2 cherry pies, and some more fudge to give to my neighbors. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay warm & safe, made!! Happy cooking!!!

Good morning,

I tried to get to the countdown last night but my computer wasn't cooperating. I just got caught up, I read through all of Lovemas, sounded like a good time. I watched her performance on DVR last night, it was very good, but I use to like Dave's show but that was a train wreck of comedy, and Paul Shaffer just creeps me out, he always has.
My boys are officially on the naughty list, while I was at work yesterday, my wife took a nap and the kids took the pizza dough that was on the counter, rising, and threw it around. It is stuck on the ceiling, the wall, the floor. They also trashed the house completely and we have thirty people coming over tomorrow. They also tortured the cats "locking" them in clothes baskets. I was so mad when I saw everything they did, they spent an hour in their rooms, and have just over a day to get back on the good list.

Well, I must begin the process of Operation Christmas Eve cleanup.

Have a Great Day!!!

Go Bengals!!!

Good luck w/ the clean-up today!! Hope it's easier than it may seem at the moment. And hope the boys can redeem themselves & get back on the nice list before the big guy comes around =] Have a great day, xmas!

Hey everyone!! It's been a minute since I have had time to drop by but I just wanted to wish each and every one of you an extraordinarily Merry Christmas Weekend and an even better Merry Christmas!!! Blessings on all!!

Merry Christmas to you, sprinkleshouse!!

Whoo Hoo here we go!!

Thank you so much for saying that. It's nice to hear that, especially at this time of the year and with what we're going on currently with my husband's job. There were going to be job cuts, but as it stands, thank goodness, it sounds like right now, just wage freezes and probably lose of some benefits, but thank goodness they will all have their jobs.

As for me, we've been waiting to hear when a bigger hospital is coming in to take us over and what all that is going to mean for all of us. I can't worry about it until I know, but it's still always at the back of my head.

Yes, thank you to you & your husband, sugar!! I will keep both of you in my thoughts & prayers. xo

And thanks for reminding us of the angels we have around us on earth to be grateful for, Seawaters! (You included!)

My dad just called me to tell me they are going to bring the gifts over today to put under our tree for all of the family for our gathering tomorrow night. I told him if there are any food gifts to put them on the dining room table so the dogs don't try to get in them. He said, "Food gifts will be okay under the tree, the dogs will see someone else's name on them and won't try to open them". He is so silly!!! cheesy

At my job we sell livestock feed, dog and cat feed and small animal feed. A lot of people bring their dogs in. I think I am about the only employee that has to hug every dog that comes in and they always get a dog treat from me! I just love animals!!!

That reminds me of our old friend Norman, who's been gone since 1997. He lived in the same neighborhood all his life, and he knew every pet in his neighborhood. He scattered birdseed for the birds, and always carried dog treats in his pockets when he took a walk. After he passed away and we were cleaning out his house (he had no family; Mr. was his closest friend), we noticed the local pets would "visit" his house, expecting a treat.

Which reminds me of a favorite Norman story: Once one of Norman's neighbors annoyed him by parking his car where it was in Norman's way, and ignoring Norman's polite requests to move it. Finally Norman said, "If you don't move the car, I'm going to throw cat-sicles into your backyard!" The guy just laughed. So Norman made up ice cubes with catnip frozen in the middle, and tossed a bunch of them into the guy's backyard that night. The ice cubes melted, and the catnip attracted every stray cat in town, and they all got "drunk" and wailed in the guy's backyard all night. He moved the car the next day!

Norman was a big Christmas fan, too ... he would have loved this forum.

Such a funny story, MC!

We are so grateful for people like you and your husband. Thanks for all both of you do!
Good morning, how are you all? I am well. Just sitting here with the kids, enjoying the morning and trying to get some motivation to get some things done.

Friday and yesterday were DH's families Christmas's, so I have a lots of gift giving's to put away and find places to do with. We still have three sitting of presents to go through yet - we do this every year - I always think to myself - where I am going to put all this stuff!? I always seem to find a place.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I did, but it went by too fast. I work tonight and tomorrow night, then I took off the next 3 days to be home with my family - DH will be working 2 of the nights, so I thought it would be nice for the kids to have someone home with them, instead of my a sitter.

Well, I am off to get stuff done with the kids - EA wants to play with some of her new toys. I will be in later to check in. Can't believe the big day is only 2 days away! It's so exciting! :???:

Yours and your husband's jobs are absolutely essential!!!

Echoing the sentiments of my gratefulness for those that serve in a twenty-four hour a day, seven days a week job that keeps us safe and well!

Two years ago tomorrow I worked off the midnight shift and shortly thereafter into a "non-essential" job. Our essential services have never been funded properly.

Sugar, your worry is shared by wife, and RN (thirty-five years now). She is concerned abut her job but she is more worried about elder care (she's in home health) more than anything else. Hopefully we are wrong, but it seems that in our society's self centered selfish greed, the elderly and the children suffer most.

Just hanging around the house here with Mr. No big plans today, maybe a bite of lunch someplace and a visit with MIL. Maybe more movies tonight. Definitely movies tomorrow night ... our traditional Christmas Eve program! Trying to save a few sugar cookies for tomorrow night. I only made one batch, and we're getting close to the bottom of the tin. Got another whole big batch of coconut chocolate chip cookies waiting in the freezer, though! I could use some Hershey Kisses. Next weekend it'll be time to make a batch of Chex mix for New Year's Eve munching. The holiday snack calendar!

I aspire to be Norman! Thanks for letting us catch a glimpse of and remember him too, MC!

Thank you, RJD! I can understand your wife's concerns and as you said, it is very much true, these two groups of individuals are the ones that get affected the most, which are the ones that need the most care.

Praying that everyone is safe and good is still received by all, especially at this time of year.

I feel the same way, RJD. I see the self-centeredness, selfishness and greed in my classroom and with parents all the time. Obviously it is not all the parents, but a LOT of them. We are the ME-generation and the generation that feels they are "entitled." So sad and so scary. Your wife is right about who ultimately suffers. In the long run, however, we ALL will suffer as our country and world, slide down a slippery slope! We are forever finding excuses and not solutions. Our principal is a prime example. She does not want to accept responsibility and only wants to lay blame. Sorry. Off my soapbox again!

Almost forgot---I put a story I recorded for LibriVox in my Dropbox for you all. Here's "The Boy with the Box" (1916) by Mary Griggs Van Voorhis. Click on the link to stream (wait a few moments for it to load); right-click to download.

Our Baby is 16 years old, too. We really keep our eye on her because of her age. The doctor checked her and said her kidneys were good. Having poor kidney control is normally one indication of trouble in a cat. Praying for you and Wish.
we lost dear Tia that way, she got a tumour on the kidney and there was nothing that could be done for her. She was 14 years old

Hey, MMC!

I cannot believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow. It is my favorite day of the year. I don't know why, but I have always enjoyed it just a teeny bit more than Christmas Day. I think it is because of the whole atmosphere. All of my family is around, Christmas music is on, there is the excitement for the next day, we always try to go to Christmas Eve mass, and it's just a fun day from morning until night. Christmas Day I love, but I dread midnight to come when I get the Christmas blues!

I was listening to the radio the other day and the host of the radio show came on and said, "Don't you just wish it was Wednesday already? That Christmas was all over? I do!" My mom and I sat there and stared at each other with our mouths wide open! No, we don't wish it was over! We wait for this time of year all year long!!!

Off to watch my Steelers!! Have a good day!

Like I said in an earlier post, the weather outside is frightful. Take care, everyone, as you travel and finish up your Christmasy things. It is so dark outside. I wish we were going to have a white Christmas, but I guess I am sending it your way!!! It is still in the 40s here, so snow is definitely out of the picture. So enjoy it, those of you who get it! TTYL.
I would send you some snow but we have barely enough to even cover the ground.
So we can enjoy this snow for now!
