Sending a prayer right now.

I had a nice day with lots of relaxing, tons of snow, and I still treated today like Christmas. My dad's work got all of the drivers off of the road early and sent everyone home. The roads are horrible. The salt truck finally came into my neighborhood and I think they buried my car in with even more snow. I don't think I'll be going anywhere tomorrow. I'd say we probably have seven inches of snow now and they are calling for two or three more this evening.

Nine houses on my street were lit up on Christmas Eve and yesterday. Tonight? Not one but ours. I just don't understand how people can go from being in the Christmas spirit for months and then suddenly just shut it off, act like it never existed, and move on once midnight strikes on the 26th. Once your birthday is over you don't stop celebrating with people at midnight on the dot and I am pretty sure no one says to you "It's 12:00, your birthday is over! You're not important any more! Time to move on!"

I am going to go turn on a Christmas movie and have some snacks!

I had a friend a few years ago, (he moved away) he use to be as gung ho for Christmas as I was around Thanksgiving. He had all his decorations and tree up before I would, but he took everything down by noon on December 26th. He didn't want any reminders of Christmas after that, I always asked him whe he would do that. Some of my stuff stays up until the end of January, including one of my trees that I have kept up until the weekend before February. I have a hard time letting go of the Christmas season.

Your household is the keeper of the Christmas flame, be proud, let your lights shine as long as you can.

Watching Fred Claus on ABCFamily right now
I love Fred Claus, especially at the end when Santa comes up behind him while they are watching the children on their snow globe. Silent Night is playing in the background, and Santa tells Fred, "You are the best big brother anyone could ever ask for." Then Fred kisses him on the forhead. Santa tears up and says, "ho, ho, ho" quietly. I cry everytime LOL.

I really enjoy that movie also.

Every year on here I say how much I want snow, but it won't really happen. The last time was in 1988 and 1996. I love snow, but I don't want to drive to the mountains just to see it. I loved what you said about birthdays. So funny and so true!!! Wise words.

Now that sounds like a wonderful plan !! xo

Happy first day of Christmas 2013! Or maybe it's just the 2nd day of Christmas because Christmas is going loud and strong still in our house! Anyone get any good deals today? I picked up some lights but it was messy today - snow and ice and now WIND and rain. Can someone send some REAL snow to the east coast? We've been ripped off big time! Last year was a bust and I can't deal with another snow-less winter!!

We're getting lots of snow here in Central Pa!

Good afternoon, everyone! Sitting here enjoying looking at the snow. DH just called me and said he arrived at work and the roads are really bad. I imagine they will have a busy night. Praying for everyone's safety.

What are the rest of you up to? Not much going on here. I need to decide what to make for dinner. EA seems to be feeling better. I think maybe I will make a homemade pizza.

I guess I spoke too soon...DH just got called out for a fire.

Thanks. He actually just called me and said they were out on a wreck and got the fire engine stuck. He said they coming down the hill and the truck went down the hill sideways. I guess they were afraid to try to move it themselves, because it was right beside a building and they were thinking it might go right into the building. He had just called for a tow truck right before he called me.

The Post-Christmas Blues are the main reason I joined just after New Year's 3 years ago. I cannot stand that feeling, I use to feel so weird, out there, not normal because I use to cry a lot over Christmas being over. I still get the occasional tinge of that feeling but coming here has helped the most and doing something daily involving Christmas like my Christmas Song A Day thread has helped especially in the dog days of summer when Christmas is still just a dream away.

I understand....Believe me. Today has been a very emotional and bad day.....I hope you feel better xo

Good evening, Christmas family

I am going to bed soon. Today was a total wash emotionally. I had so many meltdowns you would have thought I was a popsicle. I am so very tired.
